NFT: Parking Yankees Stadium

Essex : 4/16/2021 9:47 am
I haven't driven to a game in like 20+ years since I moved into the city and take the subway. Because of Covid, I am going to drive to tonights game and was just wondering if anyone has gone this year and where to park. Also, does it take a while to get in showing proof (I am vaccinated but my 10 year old has to show a negative test)& gt;.
It has been a while since I went to the Stadium

but in the past I have parked on Arthur Avenue and took an Uber or private cab for like $10. This offers a few advantages: cheaper, good food before the game and easier to exit the stadium (but this is not a concern with small crowds).
Parking Yankee Stadium is a bitch

Thing’s a beast and the turning radius sucks. Go slow and use your mirrors.

When I was growing up in NJ, I used to drive all the time to the Stadium. I moved to NYC in 1998 when I started school and I have not driven to a Yankees game since then--that is how easy the subway is. But, with Covid, I just figured its better to drive then take the subway.
Not that big a problem

The parking garage next to the old Stadium is a PIA to get out of after a game, and I would avoid it. Farther down on River Avenue across the street from the "mall", there is a private business that rents out spaces. Easy in and easy out with options as to direction. On the other side of the ballpark up River Ave, there are a couple of parking garages that are ok. A little farther up there are lots near the bus parking. Parked there the last time I went and it was easy out.

Usually drive because Arthur Ave in the Bronx is a must stop on the way home.

Enjoy
Jerome/River Avenue your best bet

They have multiple lots 2-3 blocks from the stadium. Easy in easy out. Haven't gone this year butinnl previous years it was $20.

I always park in the Gerard avenue bus lot. Really easy to leave because you can exit onto Gerard Ave going north toward the cross Bronx and there are usually no cars because it’s basically a side street.

You can also tailgate in the lot. I’ve never used a grill but you can pull up some chairs, a cooler of beers and some food and they won’t bother you.
