Was listening to their 2 man mock draft yesterday, and they had quite an interesting 2 round draft for the Giants, at least something I haven't seen, and kind of makes you think about it.
Round 1, they selected Christian Baramore, DT Alabama, passing up on Devonta Smith, Micah Parsons and Patrick Surtain.
Round 2, Alex Leatherwood, OT Alabama, passing on Rondale Moore and Terrace Marshall
I'm sure most peoples reaction to this will be eyebrow raising to put it nicely, but when you let it sit and marinate for a bit, I could get behind it.
Barrmore pick was ridiculous with Smith still on the board. If Smith should fall to 11 the Giants are snapping him up in a heartbeat or would even consider a trade down if they liked Barrmore that much.

It’s really comical that you all think the Giants are taking Smith. A 170 pound WR is not what this team is taking. I would bet a lot of money on that.
And I get it, it is just a game for them, and not to be taken seriously(as are most mocks), I just found the selections interesting, and after thinking about it, wouldn't be opposed.

I can understand Round 2 as Moore is a slot guy and Marshall for all of the hype had a lot of TD's but low number of catches. He seemed to benefit from schemes getting him open rather than route running. There is a lot of upside with him, but I can also understand why a team would decide he is not worth a 2nd rounder and just get a developmental guy later.

Wait, most analysts and scouts have Smith as a top 10 to top 15 prospect and you find it comical that some think he would get drafted by the giants at 11? Thats comical! Because why? He's 170 lbs? You are right, he is 170 and his production in the SEC plus no injury issues make him a very viable option. You can not ignore the film, the athleticism or production.
Maybe the giants will draft him, maybe they won't, but whatever they do, it won't be based on you thinking its comical.
So I suppose it is possible.

Yes. He will get bullied in the NFL. He’s not going to be able to get off of press coverage and if you think the Giants are taking that kind of a WR with a suspect OL I think you’re out of your mind. Again, it’s my opinion.
*btw, in all fairness weeks back I posted a couple of times that I thought Barmore should be in the discussion for what might happen with our first rounder, knowing DG's love for D Tackles....
At that time however, he was being mocked in the top 15, whereas now many view him as a guy who is hoping to get into the back end of round one... I'd consider it a major surprise at this point if he was considered at 11
oh.. he'll be there.

Did he get bullied in the SEC where are large number of CBs in the NFL come from?
The only way he is held at the LoS is a 5 yard penalty and an auto 1st down or he plays. Rules have changed to prevent DBs from playing overly aggressive.
BTW, Jaylen Waddle is only 12 lbs more..
He may, just because of his size. This kind of reminds me of Aaron Donald part 2.
And if he's the pick, it certainly fits a really new day in Giants land. One I haven't seen in my lifetime. Guys like him would be crossed off the list the last 40 years early in the predraft process if they were projected to go this high.
Seriously. Nice player but I would think he would be a reach if he were late first round. Second round talent riding the Bama hype...
Why would you take Barmore and not Paye? I like Barmore dont get me wrong. But Paye can play more positions and is far more powerful than Barmore.
I get the feeling the pick is Paye, unless there is a smoke screen for the USC lineman.

Nah,what I meant was,if he were to fall past a certain point.Maybe trade back into the first,or even in the 2nd round.Probably unlikely though.
Now I’m torn on Barmore...
I don’t see how anyone can get on board with this.
Don't know about the player but I can see the position filled. When we lost players like Linval Joseph and went with garbage bin DTs our run defense suffered. I don't know how many people appreciated Dalvin Tomlinson but he was a very solid DT!
Barmore’s stated to be a poor run defender, he wouldn’t be a good nose unless we move Lawrence over there, which a number of people here are against.
He might - sure. But there is a better chance a guy like Slater, for example, can block better than both of Gs combined. So what makes more sense? Improving a strength (DL)? Or improving a continued weakness?
Furthermore, we don't need more money, especially with a high pick, invested in a position - DT - where we already have a high cap spend.
We already have more than enough talent at DT.
