by Chris Trapasso, Josh Edwards, Pete Prisco and Ryan Wilson.
I took a quick look-see at their Top 10 picks by position, and here's the average across all four columnists:
Average Selections by Position**
QB 4.50
WR 2.00
CB 1.25
OL 1.00
TE 1.00
LB 0.25
Total 10.00
**Average is based on 40 selections within the Top 10 (4 Columnists * 10 Picks) / 4 Columnists
Based on the above, one very good WR could be there for the Giants at #11. So, too, an offensive lineman, as well as an EDGE player.
Here are the Giants selections at #11:
Zaven CollinsTulsa, Jr EDGE Chris Trapasso
Rashawn SlaterNorthwestern, Sr OL Josh Edwards
Gregory RousseauMiami (Fla.), Soph EDGE Pete Prisco
Jaylen WaddleAlabama, Jr WR Ryan Wilson

If for some long shot reason Pitts falls then we should grab him
Plenty of very good receivers in Rd 2 and 3. Along with very good guards
in the Top 10 as opposed to who they have the Giants actually taking at 11.
Quote:
The WRs are pretty consistently ranked in the top ten while the top edge players are pretty consistently ranked in the second ten. That makes the WRs better values. As far as OL there are any number of quality IOLs available in rounds two and three so getting one early isn’t a priority. Now all the WR may be gone so there is that but if they’re available they seem like the logical pick.

The other WR are generally top ten ranked as well. Even Slater isn’t as consistently ranked as high as the WRs. CBS has him ranked 14. Of the four mocks here the one guy who picked him for the Giants was the only one to have him better than 13. Same with the edge guys. Two have the Giants taking an edge at 11. That’s the highest any edge guy gets taken. All of them have multiple WR in the top ten.
Q: which player will need to fall to Giants not to trade back?

Someone in their tier 1.
Likely Devonta Smith or Sewell. Waddle or Slater perhaps but may be tier 2 for them.
I doubt Waddle and the Northwestern Guard would prevent the Giants trading back
+1 ... they also have Zaven Collins (designated as an "Edge" on that list) going before Paye.
Not sure about that.

Not so sure the Giants will gamble on a player who took last year off and is still not complete.

Collins has been listed more of an OLB of the SAM variety (think Carl Banks).

Waddle and/or Smith could easily be in a tier above the edge guys or Slater.

I love Smith and Pitts is the only player I would trade up for in the 1st but I think Waddle is on the same tier as Smith - if not higher.
The threat of his speed helps the offense even when he isnt targeted. He might be Barkley's new best friend.

Thanks Angel .... if he is the next Carl Banks for the Giants - WELCOME ABOARD ZAVEN. : )
psst - Carl Banks was one of my favorite ever.
