I’ve never met any of them, but I’m fairly certain that they exist. The NBA media hates the Knicks organization so much that they’ll pretend that the Nets have a sizable fan base in the city.
That when Knicks are good...they are bigger than Yankees. I have no clue. I never lived in NYC.
In the 90s, I prioritized Knicks day games over Giants games. Yea,the Giants werent great, but everything about that building when the Knicks are popping was so intense. The crowd just sounds more "masculine" (meaning bassier) than other NBA arenas. You would hear MSG and then when a game was in Indiana, or Miami or San Antonio and the crowd sounded like a bridal shower. The Knicks playing ball in Spring with that NBA on NBC intro probably elevated my heart rate more than anything else.
Btw, I just bought this and I have never been as excited about a purchase:
for a super team like the Nets? I’d rather this Knick team personally.
I couldn’t agree more. Watching a team with low expectations and a lot of homegrown talent... there’s nothing better as a fan.
I’m sure the Nets fans (I mean, I’ve never met one, but...) are having a great time, too, but personally I don’t see how you give a shit about any of those guys. I feel so personally invested with RJ’s development, for instance, that when he succeeds it feels even better than it would in a vacuum, because of our awareness of the whole track that led up to it.

Totally agree. If we can add a real PG this offseason and maybe make a run at Beal or LaVine, to go with the new defensive identity Thibs has added, this team reminds me of those Boston teams in the late 00s
If not rocking Knicks hat, I got a Sonics cap that gets a lot of love. I loved watching those 90s Seattle teams & am still pissed that they got stolen from a great basketball city.
RE: RE: Would diehard Knick fans trade this season..
for a super team like the Nets? I’d rather this Knick team personally.
No.
KD is hurt again.
If the Knicks signed him, I don't think he is capable anymore of carrying a team through an 82 game season.
you better have a good team around him going forward because IMO he will always be on a game minutes restrictions going forward.
I remember Simmons leading the charge. Not all those signings worked, but I’d rather have Randle than Kyrie. The Randle signing has changed the franchise, finally some luck.
That when Knicks are good...they are bigger than Yankees. I have no clue. I never lived in NYC.
The most intense and rocking sporting event I have ever been to was at MSG to see the Bernard King led Knicks play the Celtics in the playoffs, it was off the charts! NYC loves the Knicks.
I think we might have lucked into having the better Blue Devil long term. There is so much more to RJ'Ss game than Zion's. Dont get me wrong, Zion looked like Dee Bo at times today. But he HAS to get a jump shot. Barrett is ahead of the curve there.

Ppl hypothesized this may be the case going into the draft. I hope it turns out to be right! (We would still rather have Ja Morant though lol.)
As talented as Luca is. What a fucking cry baby. Arguing on every call. Always throwing his hands up either asking for a call or celebrating a basket or assist
Arguing with opposing players (Bulliock) and getting in his face
Young players even though he’s a star shouldn’t behave like that
I got one as a fan have zero interest in watching this prima Donna
That "Molotov cocktail" had some big nasty enriched plutonium in it.
Would never be possible unless we got some other scoring from the perimeter because JR would have to be gonzo. Obviously I would be a fan (yes we lose perimeter scoring), Zion as a straight 4 who is learnimg to play D....it makes it a tough decision with Randle playing well and hpw Zion compliments Barrett's game.
Don't tase me bro
RE: RE: RE: RE: Yeah...Zion wants to come here BADLY
Just curious, but if in the offseason the Pelicans offered Zion for Randle straight up, would you do it?
No, only way i want Zion is if he develops an outside shot, being a willing passer doesnt make you a point guard..
He is only effective going to the rim..
You're nuts.....I would.
Post presence...we can draft a poimt, RJ is hitting his 3s, he and Zion running the break vs how many times JR does dumb shit in transition or with the shot clock running down.
Take that statement back. You are better than that

It was like that in the 70s too. The intensity during playoff games was unreal. It wasn't just everyone clapping and yelling. It was a whole arena full of foot-stomping. And MSG was a relatively new arena back then. Those were great times....

If you flip Zion for Randle and put Zion on this Knicks team are they better? no
I just dont like Zions game and i dont think he is going to last long, constantly trying to drive into 3 people is not going to work, ask Lebron..even Lebron had to get a junper to take the next step..
at rhe end of Ganes the zpelicans lose why? because zion has 1 way to score
that i did about Rj to start the year, without a consistent outside shot he will not develop to his truest potential..
I dont like Simmons but Simmons does everything on the court besides shoot, He can rebound, defense every position, can run the offense, killer on the break, attacks the basket, has a little post up game..
Zion can rebound and score in the paint and no question he is dominant at it..
He is a beast but I worry about him long term with that weight and possible lower body injuries.
If he devlops a jumper absolutely, but if the ball is not constantly in his hands he is useless, he is basically a lob threat and rebounder
You guys are talking about Zion? Just a lob threat? He’s automatic with the ball in his hands. He’s an insanely talented and productive player. And he’s 20. Yes, you’d take him here in a heartbeat even if he didn’t get any better. And he likely will. Again, he’s a child. I’d piggy back the entire Knicks roster sans Randle, and every pick we own all the way to New Orleans for Zion. Then I’d sign PGs and SGs and destroy the East for five straight seasons.

Actually I think they are given the draft capital. How many times have you seen games won and lost with jump shots by the Knicks? Zion gives them post presence and rim protection. JR puts up poimts and collects rebounds at a high rate. He is Zach Randolph pt. 2. Which is fine, but Zion is starting to play defense and will yield possessions to guys like Barrett and IQ rather than being the sole option when you need 2 points.
Im surprised you are even arguing this. Zion playing with his best buddy vs JR? And I love JR, just fucking astonishing to see you post that. I would take Zion 8n a heartbeat straight up for Randle.

If the NO GM made that trade and I were a Pels fan, I would gut him in the street with the hub cap of a '99 Chrysler Dynasty
Ben Simmons-nygiants16 favorite player ever, Haha-unwillingness to shoot is something I could watch a documentary on. It fascinates me.
I dont like players who cant shoot a lick..you dont win with those type of players, come playoff time when games are tigher, a lot more 1 on 1 you have to be able to shoot, if you cant you wont win in the playoffs..
it is my same knock on Giannis..
Js Zion a dominant beast in the paint? 100% but come the playoffs teams are not going to let you jusg walk into the paint..its really that simple

Zion reminds me of Shaq, in that the defense is all but powerless to stop him. That's why it's been so weird to hear this 'Is it Zion's or Ingram's team?' narrative, with Ingram thinking he's The Man. Zion is a beast. A total beast. Barring injuries, he's going to be a force in this league for awhile. I'd take him on the Knicks in a freaking heartbeat.

Ball in his hands is different..
It really doesnt make your argument any better.
Yes it does because he cant shoot, you will never win anything with him as your best player if he never gets a jumper..
You going to jjst give him the ball everytime down and let him drive into 3 people? it wont work in the playoffs..
when i judge a player when he is that good i judge on kf he can be effective come playoff time, cool put up your 30-10 but did your team win? did you make the game easier for your teammates? where did you sckre? when did you sckre? did you hit big buckets down the stretch?
putting uo nunbers is one thing, how do you effect a game is another

I love you nygiants and love your contributions. But I am also convinced you dont know what it is like to play the game.
Having a low post athlete like Zion getting coached by Thibs would be a fucking nightmare for teams playing us.
He'll learn to shoot from 3 and how to D mobile 4s. Then he will just block shots, rebound and score at the clip he already is.

Barrett couldbt shoot before this year. And Zion is shooting 36% from 3 for his career and 60% from the field.

Dont be silly.
and i said if he learned to shoot the 3 i want him in a second, wouldnt even think twice..
until then you cant have your 4 and 5 be non shooters, there is a reason why thr Pelicans are not very good..

Wrong again. Just drop this one.
he shoots less than a 3 a game, dont gice me percentages
Big picture...we're up 1.5 on Miami for the 6th seed, just .5 back of Hawks for 4th. This is a huge homestand. And I like the momentum we're on. Let's avoid the play in tourney @ all cost (thank you Captain Obvious).

i do not want Zion in New york, no thanks
Then I’d sign PGs and SGs and destroy the East for five straight seasons.
i said if the ball is not in his hands he is a lob threat and rebounder..
Ball in his hands is different..
It really doesnt make your argument any better.
To me, it's Nets-provided fully healthy which is a total ? mark-or 76ers.

Ben Simmons-nygiants16 favorite player ever, Haha-unwillingness to shoot is something I could watch a documentary on. It fascinates me.
I dont like players who cant shoot a lick..you dont win with those type of players, come playoff time when games are tigher, a lot more 1 on 1 you have to be able to shoot, if you cant you wont win in the playoffs..
it is my same knock on Giannis..
Js Zion a dominant beast in the paint? 100% but come the playoffs teams are not going to let you jusg walk into the paint..its really that simple
Dont be silly.
and then hr made the dagger 3, could zion have done that for the Pelicans? no not yet, could he get there? 100%..
and i said if he gets there i want him in a heartbeat, but this version kf Zion? no

Barrett couldbt shoot before this year. And Zion is shooting 36% from 3 for his career and 60% from the field.
Wrong again. Just drop this one.

and i said if he learned to shoot the 3 i want him in a second, wouldnt even think twice..
until then you cant have your 4 and 5 be non shooters, there is a reason why thr Pelicans are not very good..

he shoots less than a 3 a game, dont gice me percentages
You want me to post each's numbers after 1.5 years in the league? Because this is Randle's 7th.
That West Coast trip, sans Houston, is going to be a bitch.
