i am not dieing on any hill, you think Zion is going to be all world, i do not
you predict he is going to be a good 3 point shooter, until i see it i dont believe it..
and dont give me his career 3 point percentage he shoots less than a 3 a game
Just bonkers. Once a good coach shows him how to operate in the post he will be like Shaq given today's 5s. At the very least, Kenderick Perkins. The guy is a fucking monster. When he learns to shoot he is going to be the Kraken.
I get what nygiants is saying, but I think it's fair to say Zion's game hasn't fully developed yet. He will learn-in all likelihood- to shoot 3s. And he's already so immensely talented. The only thing that really concerns me about Zion is health going forward, but that's unpredictable.

No, I think he is going to be much better than Randle.
Om Im out because Im getting annoyed. I cant believe the stance you have taken.
ZION WILL BE A BETTER PLAYER THAN JR. Its all moot because NO would never make that trade.
This is like saying Kurt Thomas was a better 5 than Marcus Camby
He is a beast but I worry about him long term with that weight and possible lower body injuries.
If he devlops a jumper absolutely, but if the ball is not constantly in his hands he is useless, he is basically a lob threat and rebounder
You guys are talking about Zion? Just a lob threat? He’s automatic with the ball in his hands. He’s an insanely talented and productive player. And he’s 20. Yes, you’d take him here in a heartbeat even if he didn’t get any better. And he likely will. Again, he’s a child. I’d piggy back the entire Knicks roster sans Randle, and every pick we own all the way to New Orleans for Zion. Then I’d sign PGs and SGs and destroy the East for five straight seasons.
Fuck yes.
If the NO GM made that trade and I were a Pels fan, I would gut him in the street with the hub cap of a '99 Chrysler Dynasty

Okay, FINE!
But to say you wouldnt make that trade if offered is fucking foolish.
Can I ask, if that trade was proposed last year when JR wasnt having a career year, would you also hold out?
This is insane we are evene talking about this. We havent even gotten to the financials.
Lets just stop. Im about to throw something.
It's also absolutely wild to say he's "just a lob threat"
Zion always was playing some point today too, Haha. Kid is unreal. I wish he was a Knick, but whatever. The lottery didn't land as we'd hope & RJ looks like he's going to be a good one too.

Well, I think comparing RJ to Zion right now is silly. Zion is a second year dude who is 20. JR has been in the league since '14 & is in his 6th year. Both are having great seasons. Zion isn't a finished product yet at all...
i was only thinking about this year and said if Zion develops the 3 i would take him without thinking twice.
No one said he was done developing
And I would still make that trade. Unless you are talkimg about the trade only being for the season and then they go back to their original teams....which is also crazy.

Totally agree! Which is why the thought of that trade is silly unless NO still had Anthony Davis and were pushing for a ring.

You better open mouth kiss me if you are going to kiss me
Non Knicks related ?...anyone thinking the stars are aligning AGAINST the Nets? KD comes up lame again today with a thigh contusion. It just seems like they can't get their Big Three on the court together at all & if they are going to win the East, they probably gotta be at full strength & have enough time to mesh. There's not much of a regular season left.

God I hope so. Those guys cant lose enough.
I have a feeling the Heat might make another run through the playoffs. That team is built for playoff ball
I don't know about KD...these lower body injuries are quite alarming for someone of his size. I don't think they know the exact of his injury today. For Brooklyn, it's championship or bust.

It looked like a knee to the thigh but the fact he didnt try and keep going is a little alarming..
Randle had the same thing kept playing, won the gane and then sat out 1 game and then kept playing
But Noel's block on Ingram in OT was even filthier than the one on Finney-Smith the other night. Finney-Smith is a poser. Ingram is the real deal with all that athleticism and length. That might be one of the top blocks in the NBA this year.

chop-- I agree I'd do the trade Randle for Zion (even though that will never happen) but just a question: why ask "if the trade was proposed last year would you also hold out?" ? What does last year have to do with anything? Randle has emerged as an all-star and potentially all-pro player this year thanks to an entire offseason of incredibly hard work. No one saw that coming, so of course the trade Randle for Zion would've been a no-brainer last year. This year it's a little different because we have new information on Randle.
(That said-- I agree Zion's stock is higher than Randle's so you def make that trade; he's 6 years younger and has a lot less experience, and his eventual ceiling has universally been considered one of the highest in the NBA the past few years. He still has to do the work to develop, which I think he will. So yeah, you make that trade no question)
BUT-- I also wouldn't 100% doubt just yet that Randle can't continue progressing. He's only 26. Kawhi Leonard's 1st all-star game was 2016, the year he turned 25. Some guys in this game do develop into top 5 players solely through several years of hard and determination-- they come out of nowhere and suddenly they're just one of the best in the league and perpetual MVP candidate (James Harden is another one that comes to mind of said ilk). Obviously we don't know if that will happen with Randle, but I'm just saying we don't know it WON'T happen either. It's possible. We have no idea if Randle is done progressing, and personally I in fact believe he's going to come back next year even better than this year. I mean, even Thibs said he's one of the hardest working guys he's ever seen-- Thibs never admits anyone is a hard worker lol.

I wouldnt hold out. I guuess what got lost in translation was that this trade (for who would be the #1 overall pick with limits to his game) would have been laughed at last year with Randle seemingly a numbers hog and should still be laughed at this year with Randle being one of the most influential players not only in the East, but the entire league.
Discussion got waaaay out of hand. It morphed from trading each player straight up into trading each player for just this year.....I dont know whats going on right now. Lol.
If the Pelicans were the 2nd or 3rd seed, I could maybe see why they would consider it. But it matters not for the Knicks. If that phone call happens, I get the paperwork signed while I still have them on the phone with the promise of a blowjob by a hooker or myself in my back pocket.
I'll admit after this game I was (and still kinda am) on a confidence high, and at first was looking at their schedule thinking they could finish 10-4 (losing only to the Nuggets, Suns, Clippers, and Lakers). Lol I had to take a step back and be realistic and figure they'll drop another 2 games besides that. But w/ the way they're playing and how they've matured over the course of this season, I do think they'll win more games than they lose over these final 14. The Hornets and Hawks just don't scare me at all w/ the way we're playing.
It's just been so cool to see the arc of their progression as a team this season. It took all those heartbreak losses and blown leads, but they didn't let it break their spirit, and I've just seen a different, more mature team over the course of this 6-game winning streak. Sure in some sense they've simply "gotten hot" recently, but it legit feels like something more than that in terms of visible growth and maturation.
I think they still need to develop that "killer instinct" that great teams have-- you could clearly see they came out flat to start the 2nd half. They built that 13 point lead in such workman-like fashion, all to just watch it evaporate in no time. I know this is an over-simplification but: great teams would be saying "we built a 13 point lead, let's make it 26 and end this shit in the 3rd quarter." Instead you could visibly see them lose focus and were a bit lackadaisical coming out of the half (the refs didn't help either, I know). But they definitely DID look like a different team than I've seen in those last 2 min of regulation. Just calmly and methodically coming back to tie the game just in time. THEN the killer instinct kicked in and they brought the hammer down in OT. This win felt really good today.
Side-note: I truly believe the refs were trying to help the Pelicans all game. The game was NOT called evenly. Twice as many PF called on the Knicks than the Pelicans (if you ignore the few intentional fouls at the end of the game). I mean it makes sense-- the league wants the Pelicans in the play-in and they're currently in 11th, while the Knicks are getting a little to far ahead of the play-in and need to be "reined in". OK, I know that sounds crazy, but there has been irrefutable evidence in the past of the league/refs calling more fouls on certain teams to make series's and playoff races more interesting (sometimes subconsciously I'm sure but also sometimes purposefully, IMO).
I definitely think the refs play to the national audience
and dont give me his career 3 point percentage he shoots less than a 3 a game

G'night buddy. We'll talk again umder better conditions. Lol.
i am fine brother, i dont get mad in debates and yes i was talking only this season
Silly argument.
Totally agree! Which is why the thought of that trade is silly unless NO still had Anthony Davis and were pushing for a ring.

Well, I think comparing RJ to Zion right now is silly. Zion is a second year dude who is 20. JR has been in the league since '14 & is in his 6th year. Both are having great seasons. Zion isn't a finished product yet at all...
Silly argument.
no shit, but i am an idiot because i would take Randle for this year over Zion..
Not what you said, but okay.....till Tuesday!

the first game the big 3 play may be game 1 of the playoffs
God I hope so. Those guys cant lose enough.
I have a feeling the Heat might make another run through the playoffs. That team is built for playoff ball

They need Herro to play better, they need bubble herro
It looked like a knee to the thigh but the fact he didnt try and keep going is a little alarming..
Randle had the same thing kept playing, won the gane and then sat out 1 game and then kept playing

I get what nygiants is saying, but I think it's fair to say Zion's game hasn't fully developed yet. He will learn-in all likelihood- to shoot 3s. And he's already so immensely talented. The only thing that really concerns me about Zion is health going forward, but that's unpredictable.
Okay, FINE!
But to say you wouldnt make that trade if offered is fucking foolish.
Can I ask, if that trade was proposed last year when JR wasnt having a career year, would you also hold out?
This is insane we are evene talking about this. We havent even gotten to the financials.
Lets just stop. Im about to throw something.
chop-- I agree I'd do the trade Randle for Zion (even though that will never happen) but just a question: why ask "if the trade was proposed last year would you also hold out?" ?
1 - Sixers (50-22)
2 - Nets (48-24)
3 - Bucks (46-26)
4 - Celtics (40-32)
5 - Knicks (39-33)
6 - Heat (38-34)
7 - Hawks (38-34)
8 - Hornets (36-36)
9 - Pacers (34-48)
10- Wizards (33-39)
(Heat will hold the head-to-head tiebreak over the Hawks I believe.)
Thoughts?

I hope your predictions are right. That'd be fun.
Just enjoying this Knicks season and I thin the arrow is pointing up.
