The current roster features four former Top 50 picks who flopped with their original teams, but who still might be young enough, at 24/25, to fulfill some of their original promise:
WR John Ross 1:09 Bengals 2017
DL Breeland Speaks 2:46 Chiefs 2018
WR Dante Pettis 2:44 49ers 2018
CB Quincy Wilson 2:46 Colts 2017
Anyone have a read on whether any of them could amount to something? Ross is probably the safest bet to make the team. Pettis and Wilson have a head start after joining the team in 2020. Breeland looks like just a body and a name, but maybe the staff sees something - or remembers something from his SEC days.
BTW, I’m omitting third-round picks - either from elsewhere (Yiadom) or the Giants’ own disappointments (Carter, Beal, Ximines). Expectations for those guys were nowhere near as high to begin with. Also omitted are older high picks like Danny Shelton, Reggie Ragland and Ryan Anderson. At this point, those guys pretty much are what they are. But please speak up if you see upside there.
of this group I agree, Ross
Pettis if Captain Conservative opens up the offense. IMO, Pettis is a better receiver than Ross, if he works harder.

Note, Greg Cosell also called it an underrated signing.
However, from your list I'm going to say Dante Pettis. So much promise when he got drafted.
My pick is Adoree Jackson.
+1. I have a good feeling about him and Anderson. Anderson seems to have that nasty streak you don’t see too much in today’s league. Both of those players are adept at the strip sack as well which can win you games.
Anderson and Odenigbo were both underused, based on the limited highlights I saw. They both could be in the mix for Edge Right and Edge Left, especially if Carter and/or Ximines don’t progress.
I hope there is room for Pettis and Ross. Still more potential for each of them than for some of last year’s practice squad and IR receivers.
Make them perfectly aware of they need to do....
And allow them to be play with in to heir limits....
I would try the same thing with Ross early. Try to hit a deep shot and get him on people's radars.
I'm with Jay otherwise. I thought Pettis seemed to be offering something by the end of last year, but Ross probably has higher upside if he can put it together.
That said, I think Anderson may put together the best numbers based on potential reps he could get.
If we draft Smith or even the Tennessee kid in the third, they could be looking at returns as their means of making any impact.
