First powered, controlled flight on another planet.

is flying helicopters on Mars.

Not China. Not Russia. Not Europe.

We still have something left in the tank.
To help put that photo in context

The image is taken from the copter looking down. What you are seeing is the copters shadow on the surface of Mars.

I was confused at first, wondering when did Mars get clouds.

Absolutely, and these are the types of things that I think, generally, fills everyone with national pride and which we can all get behind, no matter where we fall on the political spectrum.

It underscores to me the importance of doing what we can to keep the world's best minds wanting to live and work here - and why I personally lamented some of the mini "brain-drain" that was occuring during the last administration - I make no judgement on the wisdom or necessities which placed extra burdens on scholars and students from abroad working and studying here, but only that this was at least one negative side effect of some of those. We want the brightest minds thriving here, absolutely - it lifts us all.

I like to think about whether the greatest minds of the previous generations, men like Paul Cornu and Igor Sikorsky ever envisioned that their inventions would be utilized as reconnaissance vehicles on alien planets. And if not, what their reactions would be seeing Ingenuity flying about the Mars surface.
Incredible achievement!

Just wow.
Most amazing to me is that the Martian atmosphere

is 1/100 as dense as Earth's. Yes, its gravity is around 40% of ours, but still... That's impressive lift.
