Wayne!
That would be a good landing spot for him.
Mostert just turned 29. He and Wilson are nothing special. Gallman would complete for serious playing time, and he seems like a good fit for the offense. The 49ers' line is kind of a patchwork, but could be pretty good if Mack has anything left.
Good

luck to him.

Yes, wishing him well. I thought he always played well, and yet the different coaching staffs always seemed to ignore him until he was the last option.

Same. I liked him @ Clemson & thought he did an admirable job here.
it’s simple, it’s so easy to like a guy that runs real hard

and seems like a good teammate. As others have stated, nothing but well wishes for Gallman- hope he runs for lots of yards and makes lots of money.

I think getting comp picks awarded look pretty dismal this year.
I like him.

I hope he finds a good team, makes a lot of money, and has a long career.

Mostert is nothing special?

Niner line kinda patchwork?

Come on.

As far as Shanahan ZBS scheme fits, Mostert and Wilson are the best RBs he's ever had in SF, and probably every bit as good as Coleman/Freeman in ATL.

It's a very specific skillset to succeed in such an offense. Gotta be able to take one cut and go.

NINEster: The reliance on Mack and Trent Williams doesn’t worry you?
Big Blue Blogger : 4/20/2021 3:08 am : link
Williams can still be dominant when he plays, but he turns 33 this July and hasn’t played a full season since he was 25. The guard situation doesn’t look so good from a distance either, and the center is just plain old. But you know your team better than I do.

I’ll defer to you on the running backs. Mostert was a wonderful find, and maybe his age isn’t a concern because he hasn’t played a lot. Still, he’s a 29-year-old speed back coming off an injury-plagued year. He was hurt a lot before his breakout 2019 season too. Wilson had a couple of big games; you might have something there. Neither of them is signed beyond this year, so the team’s options are open for 2022. Gallman would be a decent insurance policy for this year, and maybe beyond.
This is how good franchises operate

They wait on quality depth running backs in free agency, they don't rush to sign them on day 1

Lol at this point, with the Giants off-season the NFL will ask the Giants to donate picks in the comp formula.

(I kid)

The OL situation wasn't great this past season, and became an issue when Richburg went down against the Saints two years ago.

The guard situation isn't great, but that might have been exacerbated more by the RT McGlinchey not playing up to potential, and also not having a real C hurts too. It's one of those things where you need solidity at 3 of the 5 OL positions and then you're ok. Lose one, and then you've got issues.

The team interestingly enough finds a way to put the best RBs on the field after enough time. Guys like Mostert and Wilson were largely backups that took longer to see the field because of draft/UFA status. It took a few seasons to see those two were their two best RBs, and mostly because of injuries too.

I have no issues with Gallman. If Kyle likes him, he'll sign him and he will do well. Hard for RBs to fail with him except one overdrafted rookie I won't name....
I don't know what makes that Niner rushing attack click
