MLB games today are "subject to postponement" pending the news coming within the next hour. That per the league offices.
If that happens to the Mets game, they may have set the record for greatest variety of ways games have been postponed in the first month of the season.

Rojas said deGrom wanted the extra rest and will pitch Friday. He also threw more pitches than Lucchesi on Saturday, so decision was reached to pitch deGrom on Friday at home.
just a guess but I wonder if it might be more weather related (let JDG pitch in the better weather). Looks like it will be about 10 degrees warmer in NY.

Rojas said DeGrom asked for an extra day which makes me feel like it's not related to the weather.
No way. It's all good. I was just speaking to a writer and he told me all teams received a memo. There wasn't much more to be said and we know how these threads can go.. lol
Haha yup. Honestly, if the Mets get fully healthy, I see us matching up fine with them. We are about to be a very dangerous team when Carrasco, Syndergaard, and Lugo re-join the team. Absolutely, nobody would want to face us in a 7 game series.
FG still has Mets finishing 2nd to the Yankees in bullpens based on the first few weeks (it gets adjusted based on real performances VS projection as it moves along)
You got one guy trying to prove he's worth the deal he just signed and another trying to prove he's worth the one he wants to sign...
As a guy who didn't watch him in AL, I'm still waiting to see the best SS and Top 5 player in baseball he's billed to be..I'm probably not alone in that..
I'm not concerned yet...just stating what I'm seeing..
Concerned about what? That he's suddenly not the player he's been for five years?
Or that he has a 2005 Beltran 1st year in NY. Not a disaster but very disappointing when this team is set up to win this year with so many expiring deals. Beltran never fully recovered in the eyes of the casual Mets fan... even though the diehards know he was best CFer in team history.
(Also, certainly not a "normal" season last year, but if you take his last month of 2019, all of 2020, and 12 games this year.... you get to about 100 games of <100 OPS+ performance)
Fun!

No. Might drizzle or even some flurries but this game shouldn't be in danger due to the weather.. tomorrow could be showers all day...

Some jury verdict in Minneapolis. Though talking about it will ultimately get this thread deleted bc people can't control themselves

hope this isn't code for DeGrom being dinged.

Yeah. I was purposely lacking in clarity because I didn't want this thread deleted. I was not ignoring your question or trying to rile anybody up.

Arrietta has some pretty sick movement on his pitches. Gonna be a tough night.
They have played 12 games.

That's true..just saying it's ugly for them...

His defense has won 2 games this year already.

JDD showed the good and the bad yesterday. The bat is explosive but unfortunately I'm not sure the good will outweigh the bad at 3b relative to the defense and at least somewhat competent offense from Guillorme.
