Put the over/under on runs scored at 1
Put the over/under on runs scored at 1
I should stream him in fantasy baseball lol
(According to Bryan Hooch’s Twitter account.)
This.
We didn't sell high on Tauchman and now we get someone who shouldn't be in our bullpen in return.

Tauchman traded? Didn't see that coming.........
With a 26 man roster, it makes no sense to devote two bench spots to two guys who do the same thing.
Last night we had Odor flailing at the lefty offerings in the big spot and there was no one to PH because of the redundant bench.
So now the Yanks make the move. And have ditched the guy who is seven years younger and a few million cheaper.
Because the GM is in love with the other guy.

Gardy isn't the solution or the problem. This is a nothingburger move that better be the beginning of a pivot.

Yeah and the fact that Gardner is still better in every aspect of the game except arm....
It's too bad because he has a lot of intangibles. Not to mention some good speed.
Exactly. There’s a lot wrong with the Yankees, going with Gardy over Tauchman as OF 4 isn’t one of them. Some of you guys talk about it as if they chose Gardy over Darryl Strawberry

if “the writing was on the wall” with the Gardner signing. They gave him another chance and he’s shown close to nothing. Oh well.

I still may take Gardy!
I believe rich in DC used exactly those words to predict Tauchman's fate when Gardner was signed. And it has come to pass.
Even if Tauchman had performed somewhat better, there still would have come a moment like last night where the liability of the redundant bench would be apparent. And Gardner isn't going anywhere with this GM, so it had to be Tauchman.
And the point isn't that there is anything special about Tauchman. But he's minimum wage and likely to be just as useful as a 38 yo Gardner.
Dammit, I jinxed him.

Stop, he is not as good as Gardner and never will be.
Now pile on this soft-tossing fella.
Stop, he is not as good as Gardner and never will be.
There was a game vs Toronto where Yanks needed a run late. Both Tauchman and Gardner were available to pinch run.
Tauchman was sent out and stole second and third (before being thrown out at the plate on a contact play).
Gardner was sent out the same inning as a trail pinch runner behind Tauchman.
That tells you who the Yanks recognize is the better baserunner/base stealer right now. And that's what you want a bench guy to do.
Players don't stay the same; if they did, no one would have to retire.

Oh, one play, wow. Look Tauchman may be faster than Gardner now, maybe.
If, I had to chose between the two, I would take Gardner 10/10. No question, no doubt as of right noww.
Seriously.
