on second opportunities. It is a shame that this team started the year slow. But it is fun to watch how much this team likes each other. They are going to be something going forward.
So many likable players; Bread, Z-Man, Fox, Igor, Miller, Buch, Kreider...
Tough division, too many young guys not ready for primetime in the first 20 games...
Wait till next year!
Couldn't have said it any better. It's a damn shame this team isn't going to be in the playoffs, and Rangers fans won't get to enjoy playoff hockey. They actually have the best goal differential in the whole division, 3rd in the conference, and 5th in entire NHL.

Beating the Flyers 17-3 combined in 2 straight games probably helped that goal diff just a tad. Lol.
in the first two periods and we fell apart in the third is just the game that is going to come back and haunt us. We are playing a really high level, but we are not playing at a level that will allow us to basically sweep the Bruins, Isles, and Caps over the last games of the season, It will be just too hard and we are not that good yet. Although, I have to say I feel like given Mika's struggles at the beginning of the year, Panarin's extended absence due to Putin, etc etc--I got a lot more out of the season than I thought I would. Next year has to be a step up in terms of being a solid playoff team.
In the final 6 games. We’ve seen some big strides from Kakko, Lafreniere is starting to look like a top line LW who I can see putting up 60 points next year, Chytil looks excellent, just needs to work on finishing. He could have twice the number of goals he has. Fox is likely going to finish 2nd or possibly even win the Norris. Shesterkin has proven he’s a top goalie in the league already and will only get better. The last 30 games we’ve seen the real Mika, and I hope and expect he’ll be a Ranger for a long time. Miller has some flaws, but in a few years I can see him in the Norris conversation with Fox. A lot of positives here, and the fact is, these games right now are high stakes games. Maybe not playoff games, but this is great for this young roster to get a feel for what the playoffs are like. I think they’ll come up just a bit short, but when considering all this team has been through this year and being the youngest roster in the league, finishing within a few points of a playoff spot in the toughest division in the league is something to be proud of. Mike Rupp on NHL Radio yesterday said he thinks they’ll come up short, but that this will be the last time they miss the playoffs for at least 7 years. From your lips to God’s ears, Rupper!
This is the most talent the Rangers have had since the GAG line. This group might actually have more considering what's still in the pipeline. Hopefully they have a little better luck with the hockey gods than that group had.

Damn straight he should. He leads the league in assists and points for a defenseman, and he's electric in every game.

season is far from over. We're talking one bad weekend from Isles or Boston and we're right there. Plus, everyone plays each other.
If the Rangers keep winning like this they just might make it. It's not crazy to suggest that.

a monumental task. NYI has a game in hand and Boston has 2. And they both have Buff and the Devs on the schedule, we have the Caps.
.............. but they have a chance! LGR!!!
