Guy had been retired for a year and was signed on short notice as an injury replacement. Refs blew the call, and furthermore if Matt Allen had done what he was supposed to do rather than his best Garo Yepremian impression, they would have had another shot at a FG.

Had a great screen play in preseason, weaving through and speeding past defenders. I think he may have scored. Thought he was gonna be an amazing weapon.....blew out his knee next day at practice or something.....never saw him again.

Matt Dodge is a good add, though I'm such a softie I actually kinda felt bad for him when TC was tearing him apart after that punt to Jackson. And when I say 'kinda'...like 1% sad for him, 99% anger @ him, Haha.

Reece ignored TC and Drafted him the forced him into the team. Got that first hand from an Ex NFL special Teams coach who worked for TC in Jax. Said TC was beyond pissed he was stuck w him in the first place. Think that punt made it all come out on the field. Didn't know it at the time of course

TC is the same guy who kept on Tom Quinn as his STs Coach, so he shouldn't get a pass.

Morton played 18 years and I think he won Super Bowls with Dallas and Denver. He led many playoff teams. His only bad stretch was with the Giants in the middle of his career. What does that tell you? He wasn’t washed up when he got here or when he left.

Drafted 1 pick ahead of Reggie White, went on to become a HOF Olineman ... who never played for the Giants. The LT led 80s Giants D with Reggie friggin’ White being coached by Parcells and Belichick would be the best D in league history.

Can’t complain about 2 titles I guess, but LT + Reggie would’ve been amazing.

Scored an Eagles PR TD, then punched goal post. I hated him instantly. And still do, though he is a distant footnote.

Joe Horn and his Cell Phone deal during a Saints ass-kicking we took is right up there.

Allie Sherman trading Sam Huff was a horror but he also led us to three straight NFL title games. I think those take him out of the “infamous” category.

Brent Celek (Kenny Phillips)
LeSean McCoy (Phillips, Mike Boley, and Jon Goff)

I guess my answer is less a list of players than a single team. Thanks for the memories, Eagles.

No Buddy Ryan?

...was that while he was despicable, I’m not sure he ever cost the Giants anything. The ‘88-‘89 Eagles teams were loaded, and Ryan may actually have held them back. As painful as those four losses were, the Eagles always handed control of the division back to the Giants.

I lived in the Philthy area at the time and agree that Buddy may have held them back. He was so arrogant about his genius as a DC that he alienated his O and ignored his ST. IIRC, he even said at one time, MY defense is so good, we don't need an offense. How'd that work out in the playoffs, genius?

A good HC would've won at least a playoff game or two with that team. He didn't win a single one as HC. Ha ha! RIP Buddy!

I don’t think we had a GM in those days. All the draft choices and trades was made by the Coach or Wellington Mara.
