Can be within or outside the organization. A few obvious ones that come to mind for me.

Aquidneck: The reason I omitted Buddy Ryan...
...was that while he was despicable, I’m not sure he ever cost the Giants anything. The ‘88-‘89 Eagles teams were loaded, and Ryan may actually have held them back. As painful as those four losses were, the Eagles always handed control of the division back to the Giants.

I lived in the Philthy area at the time and agree that Buddy may have held them back. He was so arrogant about his genius as a DC that he alienated his O and ignored his ST. IIRC, he even said at one time, MY defense is so good, we don't need an offense. How'd that work out in the playoffs, genius?

A good HC would've won at least a playoff game or two with that team. He didn't win a single one as HC. Ha ha! RIP Buddy!

When he said, with that arrogant snicker, "Bummer" after that brutal '03 playoff loss I never despised an NFL person more.

Mariucci was a great one! If it was legal to kill, he might have been the one..:)

He traded Sam Huff to the Redskins. Later the fans serenaded him with chants of “Goodbye Allie.”

Allie Sherman trading Sam Huff was a horror but he also led us to three straight NFL title games. I think those take him out of the “infamous” category.

The coaches made the trades in those days? Didn't know that.

I don’t think we had a GM in those days. All the draft choices and trades was made by the Coach or Wellington Mara.

I so reveled in 'Mooch's' time in Detroit, which was an abject disaster.
