He’s neck-and-neck with Surtain at the top of a strong class, and CB is a super-premium position, on the next tier after QB. He’s likely to go somewhere between 8 and 13.
Darrisaw is an interesting call. On the next tier of linemen after Sewell, Darrisaw gets more criticism than Slater or Vera-Tucker, but nobody questions his position. He’s a tackle - probably a left tackle - and that’s what most teams look for in a top ten pick on the offensive line.
Would Vera-Tucker qualify as a surprise? How about Farley, if a team has been able to get some insight on his post-surgery prognosis? Or Phillips, if his medical and interviews were clean? Barmore or one of the RBs would be surprises, and I guess it’s possible. I just don’t see a team for whom those moves would make sense.
BTW, we might see some jockeying on Thursday among teams in the 10-14 range, as they see who’s left on the board. My “Oh, sh!t” scenario involves Smith, Pitts or Chase making it to 10 and Dallas trading down a bit because they know Horn or Surtain will be there at 12-13. Worst case is a Dallas/Philly trade. Eagles get the prime offensive weapon. Cowboys get their CB. (And yes, they would do it. The old taboo on trading with rivals is pretty much dead.) Giants salvage a six-pack and a bag of chips in a trade with the Chargers or Patriots.
Pick Kelvin Joeseph or Greg Newsome at CB in the second round. Boom!!! Secondary looks a lot better with Diggs and Donavan Wilson now.
Good call. Not that I'm predicting it, but he would be a legitimate surprise (unlike Horn or Mac Jones) and there are draftniks who a very high on him, so he fits the bill of a Black Swan.
My logic would be Chase to Cincy, Smith to Miami, and then Detroit decides they want a weapon for Goff but have questions about Waddle’s long term durability if he is also going to be taking hits in return game.
That's a good thought. You think DAL might scoop him?

I'll go with....Jaycee Horn

Yeah, or Denver
I live in DFW...all the "experts" here think Horn is the 10th pick.
Denver would be stupid not to take a QB.
Interesting. That would definitely be a surprise.
