Haha seriously
Higgy for the second night in a row. Well done Boone (Poon?). And the analytics team.
Looks like DJ is starting to hit a bit more:)
So are suits and ties...
I love tradition but I agree. It's run its course.

the Yankees beard and long hair policy has run its course? I'm on the fence bc it makes them unique. But it's also archaic as fuck.

These guys are playing a kids game. I'm not really seeing your point.
Shit. I'm on dvr pause between this and the Knicks game so I'm behind a few minutes. Happy for the result though.

I was actually just teasing about suits and ties being archaic.
However, I do like the clean look. I do like professionals looking like pros(kids don't make $$$$ like these guys). Would I care if it changed? Probably would not even notice in a couple weeks.
It's about the game and the team.
I'd have Frazier running a few laps around the entire field after this inning.
It's about the game and the team.
Love the no cheerleaders policy because it's silly, sideshow-ish and objectifying. Having some facial hair doesn't equal those things.

Would not mind close beards..I do not think it detracts from the product. Long sloppy hair....meh

It isn't per se but when you look at how ridiculous at least a handful of players on every team grow it out, it is silly and sideshow-ish.

The long sloppy hair isn't my cup o tea either. But they could be lenient with some short facial hair.
I think arniefez said it best today - the Yankees want their players to be robots. Enough of that BS.
Lets pile it one tonight.

If arniefez said it, I ignore it....
I would have bet that Hicks would have hit into a DP..even he is not patient. guy can't find the plate and he swings at a shoulder high pitch to start. At least he got the sacfly...Red Thunder is a total mess.
It most certainly does....
Anyone think Gary makes that sliding catch my Kyle into the wall a couple innings ago? I don't.
They might have the worst OF in baseball after Judge

It is a good outfield. The defense is fine. The offense has been bad, but so has everyone not named Urshela...
Couple more cylinders are starting to fire..
Yes it is a PIA with him, but I am certain they are over managing his nicks and bruises so they get 140 games from him. It does not sound serious as he could have played last night - at least PH'ed. Probably has been told to report all twists and twinges. They may do better to not give an explanation past a day off.
I do think it will impact his "big" contract to some extent, especially the duration of the contract.

At least they got a win and a well pitched game again.

good points. I'd be very wary of going more than 4 yrs for him.
probably a little of both.

last few pitchers pitching better... or just guys getting into their groove after a few starts?
probably a little of both.
I wouldn't underestimate the power of a good fielding catcher.

It gives the pitchers with sharp breaking sliders and sinkers confidence to let it rip and know the catcher will block it 98 times out of 100. Coney made it pretty clear that Higgy plays the position smartly and cleanly, sets up well and gives the umps a clean view of the pitch.
