And this is coming from a die hard Rangers fan. They are gunna extend 93 and they’re already tied to 20 and be the same team for the next decade. Good regular seasons, maybe a run or two but ultimately they’re just too fucking soft. Their stars and their no shows against all the good teams is a bad omen, their easy dismissal last year is a bad omen, the fact that Quinn couldn’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag, BAD OMEN. This team is not built to win a Stanley cup. Gunna be a big rebuild just for another 10 years without a cup, sweet.
But paying Kreider 7 a year, Panarin 11 a year, and Zib soon to be 9/10 a year is a joke. They run and hide every single time they are in a playoff style game that matters. When the games get heavy they are nowhere to be found... but they’re good at dropping 4 points a game against NJ or Buffalo.
But my god, this team is going to turn a corner soon and he’s NOT THE COACH for the playoffs as we’ve seen. I don’t think he will win a playoff series in his tenor as Rangers coach.

I agree about Kreider, but I have no idea why you're complaining about Panarin and Zibanejad.
I just see way too many similarities between those two and Rick Nash who ran and hid every time the going got tough and never did ANYTHING in the playoffs. And despite that the team still made runs, when a guy is your highest paid player he needs to show up when it matters.

Hmmm. You remember that Zibanejad OT winner a few years ago in the playoffs?
Yes I do and he has good career playoff stats... but my god that was so insanely lucky (good things happen when you go to the net). So many of our stars over the last 10 years did NOTHING in the playoffs. I just don’t think he is the guy. I hope I’m wrong cause they’re 100% going to extend hin.
And landed perfectly in stride for him with an out of position goalie. He didn’t dominate that game or series he just drove the net and made a good play.
now. They can’t possibly watch games like this and think Quinn is the coach to get the team to the next level. They only way you can keep him around is if you believe that next year is also a developmental season.
a HC devoid of answers, two games vs Isles 10-1 on the short end!! Didn't have what it took to play PITT (the season turned on Rangers inability to at least split those two b-t-b, imo), BOS, WASH. Same same vs CAR last June, pretty sad performances, and all the HC can say is we're disappointed we didn't get it done. Beats were pretty straightforward about how can you fall so down when this was a game that mattered.
Rangers don't know how, don't have what it takes now, to play these games.
How much of coming out flat is on the coach, and how much is on the players?
The Isles were warmed over dog shit against Washington for three games this week. Trotz has to shoulder some of that, but I don’t think he prepped the team differently for them than he did the Rangers.
and I don't know the answer either. But what sticks out to me in so many of the games the past month and a half against top of the table teams, Rangers never got out of first gear, there didn't seem to be any adjustments made or executed. Zib said last night the Isles didn't let them (NYR) do much, they play tough as a team. Just seems as though there is a collective intelligence and smarts lacking on ice. All due to one of the youngest teams in the NHL? Maybe, but that answer strikes me as facile. Last night's performance too repetitive in too many big games.

This is something they pointed out on the Isles broadcast multiple times, but the Rangers who are struggling most against the Isles are Panarin, Zib and Buchnevich. I don't watch enough Ranger games against teams like Boston, Pitt or Washington to know if that is the case with them, but the Isles seem to be able to take those guys away with a structured defense.
Don't get me wrong - the Rangers have a ton of top end talent and a ton of young guys who are only getting better. But as much as well hate the sandpaper/team leader types that often get in the lineup when we wish they wouldn't - I wonder if that is not a piece that is not yet there for the Rangers. Having veterans on the team does not necessarily mean you have veteran leadership.
a Rangers' (or Islanders') stinker
Let the games begin!
LGI!
LGI!
Oops!
LGI!
Rangers pining for Jessiman?
Also, I have a feeling the Rangers will lay an egg.
1) DeVonta Smith to NYG at #11
2) Rangers win
3) Anthony Beauvillier being Dudley Boyz'd through the ice
I'll take any two.

Yup, flat as a pancake.
That's just the sign of a middle of the road team in the middle of a rebuild

Well, Smith just knocked Beauvillier on his ass
Well, at least Kravtsov isn't on the fourth line...
I guess their young players are all going to suck??
He's right. How will this team ever improve?
Not sure why you feel that way. This team is primed for perennial playoff runs

But meant theyre gunna be the same team the next 10 years they were the last 10 years. Always in the hunt but never good enough to climb the mountain.

Especially if you find someone who can coach
Fuck off Farva

Well, yes, my thoughts on Quinn are well-known. I have a feeling he'll be brought back.

people sometimes don't realize how much of the game originates/is dictated from the face off.
Just a bed shitting tonight.
