An announcement should be made discouraging stupid useless threads being created left and right by attention seeking morons who know that we're all on here looking to discuss and learn about what's happening in the draft and who the Giants are taking. Some people can't resist a captive audience.
And Detroit trades out, we could realistically be looking at Golladay/ Smith/ Waddle/ Shepard / Slayton and Barkley. Engram could possibly find his niche as having play makers around him.
If Devonta Smith falls to the Giants, they need to take him.
The prevailing wisdom during the start of the college season was that Waddle was the elite prospect and Smith was a step down in terms of potential. Smith surpassed those expectations well before Waddle went down with injury. His route running is elite. Though his speed is not, many of the top receivers of all time were better route runners than speedsters.
Smith is easily a top 5 player in this draft and should be the pick if available. Waddle is also clearly top 10. Both are tiers above any of the edge players this year, and also above the offensive linemen except Sewell. Take the best player.

will finally get an answer to the existential question that has plagued humanity since we were first capable of cognitive thought: Who will the 49ers take with the third pick in 2021 draft?
If we believe DGs job is on the line next year's draft picks don't mean as much if you aren't here. I have no idea for who, but if they have a player that they think makes them much better this year I see them trying.
I thank you BBI. You're almost as good as Howard Stern during this Pandemic. I think there will be heartbreak tonight and I think there will be pure love. Peace out!!!!
there...odds are still pretty even on Lance and Mac and haven't budged in a while.
I’d be surprised if it isn’t Mac Jones. That was the initial report immediately after they moved up to 3 and everything since I feel has been smoke. I could be wrong but if just feels that way
this is not a very good rendition of the national anthem. This is going to be an unpopular opinion but why do we need the national anthem sung at the NFL draft?

It’s a promo, Goodell said a “fully vaccinated fan” from each team could come up and sit in the chair.
Wow really? The NFL needs to spend more money on their marketing dept. that sounds like an idea I would have concocted after 8 drinks. “Hey guys we should have a fan from each team sit in a lay-z-boy while goodell reads the pick.”

disagree this is ideal. A team trades up in the top 10 for Mac Jones drops someone to us OR Mac Jones drops to 11 and the Giants can trade down to a team looking to jump the Eagles.

Bad for us. Pretty much certain it knows Smith and maybe even waddle off our board
Lots of pressure on this young man. I like his talent. Not sure he will be ready for the step up of the bat. If it doesn't work quickly the talent goes quickly. Think it does not work out with Shanny but he has a chance to be good long term.
become the highest TE ever drafted. Guy is a stud and Falcons are doing the right thing, even though they are a mess and will probably have some losing seasons coming up. Sounds exactly like us 3 years ago lol
OL a mess but skill guys are stacked on paper. Defense played better than people think but there are holes all over the place on that side of the ball. Cap is a problem, they've been stretching it for awhile and that bill is due.
CIN has had an odd fascination with drafting wide receivers over the years while having glaring holes elsewhere and an already-solid receiver room in house. It has gotten them nowhere.

I think the 3 big name WRs going off the board would be the best thing. The team needs to avoid shiny hood ornaments and there will be good WRs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

The draft is deep in OL. They probably hope to get help later but a valid point. They seem committed to Ryan for a couple years. Not a bad choice considering the options.
I'd legitimately be surprised by Smith. They've got a lot of holes and can see this being a prime trade spot. They can go Sewell or defense here for sure if they stick.
not really. Look at the receivers in the NFC South that Carolina has to defend. You can argue Surtain was better than Horn but Carolina picking a CB makes sense.
When Zach Wilson said there's no other team he'd want to play for besides the Jets, Mrs. '81 Great Dane (not a football fan) was skeptical. I said he was sending a message to New York fans. She said "He's sending a message that he's not right in the head."

I just personally think that you are trying to rebuild a rattled qb, that OL or a WR would be my priority. No knock on the player. Jus5nfigured offense for panthers would be priority here.

Panthers went BPA. Exactly what you need to do in the top 10.

Nice ascending pass rusher in Burns, investments in Gross Matos and Brown last year. It makes sense going for that 1v1 press guy.

if you came in with a set expectation, which is stupid at 11. Dallas played it very smart. Gotta hand it to them there. We could have made the same trade. NOT worth it for us, so why do peeps think it was worth it for Philly? There are still plenty of prime choices. And I sure hope we go OL now.
I think Judge is the real deal as a coach and the 2022 #1 is HUGE. At 20 we will take an OL, watch, and the difference in talent between 12-20 isn't that great, IMHO.
think what's really impressive is that Dave made the trade mostly for draft picks next year. But he also got back the fifth we traded to the Jets for Williams.
a freaking draft. Still can't believe Philly and Dallas actually worked together to fuck us. And then we actually traded down and got a sweet haul. Still disappointed about missing Smith, but love the drama
for implying the giants aren’t good at hiding who they like. Well think it was pretty clear the giants loved Smith so much that the Eagles and cowboys decided to team up on us

getting the Bears first next year is absolutely massive.
Nagy is on the hot seat. Their best player on offense is pissed and wants out (Robinson). They lost Hicks and Fuller on defense. They just drafted a rookie QB and have a strange assortment of vets ahead of him (Dalton/Foles).
The Giants could have very well just turned their 10th overall pick into a top 10 pick next year. And the 20th pick this year. No matter what happens this is fair value. If Chicago has a bad year it is the Texans trade that set Miami up for years.

They’re better off with what they got vs taking Smith.

Simple question… was Devanta Smith worth the Giants third round pick? Even amongst the people who loved him on BBI (I wasn’t one of them), I’d guess that 98% would say no.

I mean I’m completely biased because I love Smith and hate that he’s on the Eagles.
RE: With the first pick of the 2022 Draft, the New York Giants select....
they pick him earlier but they traded the pick. The talent is there. Good thing it is not enough and the offense will likely fall apart in the years ahead.
I think the Giants made a mistake here but time will tell.
Being out maneuvered by the egirls. I’m pissed about letting Dallas have the best linebacker in the draft. We will get stuck with some pathetic edge who will be out of the league in two years and I need a need a new remote.
Damn.
and loading for next season, but I'm not going to yell about it. It's disappointing and I don't really get what they're going for.
.
I would have to agree, it's not like the Giants are perennial
playoff contenders. If they moved down 4 spots to say #15,
with the Pats, that would seem to make sense, but 9 spots?
Well, at least he got a first round pick next year in the deal.
Either Slater or trade were the only 2 good options.. I like the trade down.. bears are going to suck next year and we will get someone really good then..
RE: RE: I don't really understand a 6 win team punting 9 spots

Nice outlook. And why were we out maneuvered? We weren't willing to trade up and they were, they didn't get him for free. We picked up a ton of value, including a potential top 10 pick next year if Fields struggles.
Think big picture, that's what our HC is doing.
RE: RE: I don't really understand a 6 win team punting 9 spots
Called this at 9:35 ET. Not a hard call though. Da Bears were vocal about wanting a QB; the trade was there to be made, and the Giants just did a huge free agency period so they'd have the freedom to do exactly this.
If Paye, Slater and AVT are gone, I’m not against that at all.
You can gamble on Phillips at 20 with the extra picks. I think he becomes a lot more viable with the extra ammo. Probably prefer Payes floor but I'm not 100% sure.

You dont understand moving nine spots to pick up an extra first?
The extra first is what it is, I'm focused more on what the team needs for 2021 to build on last year's growth. I would have rather had more picks this year to make improvements than have to wait till next season.
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Well we know we didn't want Parsons.
on the best player on the D. Red flags but this kid can play. In the grand scheme of things they are still short on QB. Still, I think the Dallas got a lot better on the side that was lacking and will be the biggest challenge this in division.

well we did get a 5th and I consider that good value considering the negligible difference between players at 10 and 20 like Del mentioned.
This was a pretty good move. They now have Chicagos 1st rounder next year.
They probably didn't like Slater's arm length or Parsons' off field issues. The CBs were gone.
All the Blue chips were gone. So Move to where you'll get one of the better pass rushers. Which is truly their biggest need. Or get Vera-Tucker/aloe-vera.
Pick up another pick this year, and a 1 and a 4 next year.
If you're not getting one of this year's blue chips, this is a decent move.
before the draft. Now people are coming out of the woodworks saying he’s the best defensive player in the draft and that he’s going to make the giants eat shit for years. Fuck Parsons.
He needed more picks because he really knows how to build a losing team. I am really hoping we get another rotational DL like Paye so we can continue to not score points or rush the passer.

It's a legitimate point. Hopefully the Giants Way personality test is right here...
Otherwise, Parsons is going to be a real problem for the next 5+ years.
Just seeing the Cowboys cooperating with the hated scumbag eagles so they could stick it to us yet again... But then our trade... feels like they scored a strong TD but then we ran back their kick for the score, then recovered the next kick and now have the ball again on their 22 yard line. You wanna go? How bout this!!
And go with Phillips. Imagine if we walked out of this with the best non positional player in the draft and two number ones next year.
I didn't like alignment a god at number 11 but at number 20 it's perfect. I'm giddy this is turning out so well
trading back and getting a extra first makes me think it is insurance if Jones does not work out. Perhaps the concerns are bigger than what has been said.

They took a chance on J. Smith with his bad knee injury and that has paid off for them. I feared this pick would come to fruition.

I think that illustrates more than anything how both teams seem a bit scared of us

Maybe Peter King was right the other day. He did say there was talk of sticking it to Giants
I keep harping for football players not good citizens or “potential” players. AVT is fine. But don’t give me a Paye who has all the measurable’s but done nothing on the field. Maybe he cannot Parsons proved he could. See (past #1 picks).

It certainly gives up flexibility if things go badly with him this year. Of course I hope they don't.

I think the Giants didn’t expect all three receivers to be gone and their two biggest rivals to trade with one another. They traded down because they didn’t view any of the next 10 players as being leaps and bounds above each other.

For as much as they publicly stand behind jones at every opportunity (which is exactly what they should do, but I think there's a well-rooted personal relationship with the guy too), I don't think they're going to pull the trigger with a year on the clock still. Jones gets his entire rookie deal.

Great move by Giants. Big fan. Next year’s draft picks are like gold right now. Super valuable. Projected strong draft. More info on prospects. Significant assets in return. One exec just told me he thought it was a fleecing ... by the Giants!

and I guessed exactly this in an earlier discussion. I saw that a lot of mocks had 2 1st round QBs still on the board at 11, and that the Bears badly wanted a qb so they would give up value. Getting an extra 1st round pick next year that could be pretty high, plus a 4 and a 5, looks like value to me. Now we see what's left when the Giants pick. I'm guessing OL or edge, but again, I admit I know basically nothing.

Jeez. This has absolutely nothing to do with Jones. It’s fortuitous. If it does help them in case jones busts then that’s good. But it’s not why they did it. Otherwise it would have been in The works long ago.
I don't care whether you're right or wrong. I appreciate the information, as almost everyone else does as well. Most of the asshats were wrong about Jones. Who cares? Keep the tidbits coming.

He’s neck-and-neck with Surtain at the top of a strong class, and CB is a super-premium position, on the next tier after QB. He’s likely to go somewhere between 8 and 13....
BTW, we might see some jockeying on Thursday among teams in the 10-14 range, as they see who’s left on the board. My “Oh, sh!t” scenario involves Smith, Pitts or Chase making it to 10 and Dallas trading down a bit because they know Horn or Surtain will be there at 12-13. Worst case is a Dallas/Philly trade. Eagles get the prime offensive weapon. Cowboys get their CB. (And yes, they would do it. The old taboo on trading with rivals is pretty much dead.) Giants salvage a six-pack and a bag of chips in a trade with the Chargers or Patriots.

For a worst-case scenario, The trade with Chicago is pretty good. And maybe the Giants didn’t even want Smith. My first accurate draft prediction ever! (Sort of.) - ( New Window )
A) WR
B) Sewell
C) AVT ( but there was a trade couldn’t refuse)
D) 1-2 said Paye I heard Georgia Edge with move down. All the way to #20 you can’t tell who will be there. This collaboration on this board has been spot on!
probably available: Rashod Bateman, Karadius Toney, Elijah Moore, Rondale Moore, Terrace Marshall, Dyami Brown. Some of those guys aren't graded as high as #20 but it really comes down to the Giants' grade, not the draftniks' grades.
RE: RE: RE: It would be pretty funny if DG traded down again
I'm not concerned about his concussion history. That is a second contract issue most likely and it will be apparent by then. He's so good even if we only get 3 years out of him at this price point, it's worth it.
RE: RE: RE: It would be pretty funny if DG traded down again
We needed value this year. We aren’t going to need the Bears pick for a QB next year. We have another draft we we will be in the bottom 5
Again, our HC doesn’t think this way. If you like what you saw from Judge in 2020 than there’s no reason not to trust what he wants to do in 2021. He said from day 1 he wants to build a program, he didn’t promise to turn things around instantly. Trust the process.
Was Phillips’ ceiling and felt the Dolphins having 2 picks early made them a great candidate to select him. That wasn’t surprising imo. I’ll be interested to see his career play out, I’m one of his biggest fans on this site.

Huh?
NCAA gave players an extra year of eligibility and supposedly a lot took it. I heard it on Giant podcast yesterday. Surprised me.
I'm not following how this will make next years draft great as a result of that though. Guys didn't stay in college that were going to be top NFL players because they got an extra year of eligibility. The draft eligible players left if they were going to be a top round pick as they usually do. So its not like some high end talent stayed in college this year as a result of getting an extra year of eligibility
Hopefully the Tuck comparisons come to fruition even though I don’t quite see that pass rush potential.
Paye had the highest pass rush win rate in the Big 10 in 2020.
That’s cool. But you gotta finish. We all saw Olivier Vernon.
The teams Vernon was on had a lot of problems.. Him and JPP were in a near impossible situation.. they both were forced to play 95% of plays and had no inside pass rush to help them out.
... but we got the Bears 2022 1st rounder from it, so we'll see.
Yeh Jesus we are having people judge this trade here just because they don't like who we took at 20 and we still have a wildcard 1st rounder next year. The Bears have potential to suck. Akiem Hicks makes that D go and he's getting up there and believe started to break down last year.
as he is a multi level threat guy. The bitching and whining here is pathetic. Toney is a guy who actually can make SS expendable and provide some serious ball in the hands threat.
Also, interesting that they picked a guy with issues

has gotta score points. I'm glad they got a weapon. Im going to trust that someone did their homework and look forward to watching some more end zone dances in 2021.

There's a very good chance that pick ends up being a top 5 pick.
Posted weeks ago he was my favorite player in draft
But Moore brings that explosive slot element and did it without as much talent around him and doesn't have the character worries. Giants scout WRs well but I don't understand them going there if they went in that direction.
This is the player that would almost certainly be on the Saints or the Chiefs, it’s finally our turn for a playmaker. This day couldn’t have gone any better, only thing that would make it better is a Sterling Shepard trade

Those teams can afford to take chances. Giants have the worst record in the NFL over the last 5 years because of picks like this.
I didn't watch much of the Gators but he was good for them. He looks pretty shifty. It's a WTF from me, but here's to rooting for him! Kick some azz Kadarius...

I thought Shep had his best games as a flanker though, not the slot receiver the fan base thinks.
keep in mind next year we will not be able to make a lot of splashy moves in FA with our cap being tight so extra picks in the draft is even more helpful. 2022 Draft is shaping up to be very deep..
He was an Alabama recruit, so there's a bit of a connection.
My guy in Minneapolis said this is stubborn and wanting out of need rather than bpa.
He's repped some of my former teammates, so we have some history, and is a senior dude now. He had Paye.
Tells us a lot about the investment in Jones.
Totally agree, so let's find out about Jones pronto.
Gotta be two years and bounce unless something crazy ensues.
This is an all-in move. I knew John Hevesy when he was a GA at Syracuse in 1997 and Dan Mullen at Cuse in 1998. Not a fan of either guy, tbh. That was when I was a player. They couldn't care less about character or culture back then. They were me-first, didn't give a flying fuck about players and I suspect that's how they eventually recruited.
Ironically, he was sort of there when we got waxed by Florida in the Orange Bowl vs..... Florida. Fuck him.
Devin Duvernay
James Proche
Hollywood Brown
Miles Boykin
Jaleel Scott
Jordan Lasley
Chris Moore
Breshad Perriman
Darren Waller
Michael Campanaro
Aaron Pellette
Tommy Streeter
Torrey Smith
Tandon Doss
These are the WRs they've drafted over the last 10 drafts. I looked until 2007 and it doesn't get any better.
I know ppl in the Harrisburg area very familiar with the man and his history. We dodged a bullet
Lol, would love to hear the BS you hear
You seem very dug in on your position. Don’t shoot the messenger! It’s what I’ve heard. I’ve heard stuff going back to high school but don’t feel the need to get into specifics. Take it for what it’s worth
Gonna be another guy that contributes big in spots for them for 3-4 years, has a big contract year for them, goes to another team and give them a comp 3.
That had to be the Eric Flowers pick!! 😩

Philly has 11 total picks and NE has 10 total picks...
Oof...thatll be annoying.
There’s clearly some serious issues with this guy given he’s a top 5 talent that’s potentially slipping that far. Let him be someone else’s problem
I’d be surprised if it isn’t Mac Jones. That was the initial report immediately after they moved up to 3 and everything since I feel has been smoke. I could be wrong but if just feels that way
She sounds dreadful...leave it to Cleveland.

Far better than the other one.

Yup
We knew a QB would go in that spot. And Mac Jones I think is someone the Pats would make a move on if he's there when we pick.
disagree this is ideal. A team trades up in the top 10 for Mac Jones drops someone to us OR Mac Jones drops to 11 and the Giants can trade down to a team looking to jump the Eagles.
and weird
Definitely. No question

That's what I'm thinking too. Pats have called every team in top 15 and worked out trade parameters. I think it's QB and I think it's Mac.

Right and lucky we pick #11.
I don't see it because of the Ryan contract...
Pitts is a monster.
I think they get him on the field quickly. They had injuries concern with Garafoala but I think it was more than that.
Nope. Sucks.
Neither. Dropping to either Carolina or New England at 15.
Hmm, with no running game and a poor Oline..
Annnnnnnd we're off....
Trade down to 15 looking more likely now due to the WRs likely being off the board in that scenario.
But best case now is for Parsons, Surtain, and Horn to go before our pick.

No. Reports are he really wants to reunite with Chase.
Logically, I agree with you, btw. Protection is a must...
Too bad Joe Burrow won't be healthy enough to throw passes to him but hey it's the Bengals.
Why?
Penei Sewell – OT/Oregon
CIN has had an odd fascination with drafting wide receivers over the years while having glaring holes elsewhere and an already-solid receiver room in house. It has gotten them nowhere.
Already did. I need to cluster drug.
no Miami takes one of the Bama receivers to pair him with Tua.
Hahahahahaha
Too bad Joe Burrow won't be healthy enough to throw passes to him but hey it's the Bengals.
Nah, it sounds like Joe Burrow is the GM for that team, he wanted Chase.
I would assume so. Then Detroit might break our hearts and take Smith.

Not going the right way for us
Why?
All 5 picks have basically been as called at least as far as position and nobody believed Jones was going to SF..
Who are you following?
If you want receiver at 11 yes, but lots of other talent left

Detroit prob takes Smith now..
Omg the sky is falling! Turn on your BBI brothers and loot and burn the place down lol
Now THAT Would suck but let's see how it plays out.
I think if Sewell and Parsons are there, Dallas might actually go for Parsons since Lee retired.
This is true. When do we call Carolina to leapfrog Dallas for Sewell
I'd legitimately be surprised by Smith. They've got a lot of holes and can see this being a prime trade spot. They can go Sewell or defense here for sure if they stick.

No you don't. You do not waste picks. There will be a great player at #11.
Waddle has always been the better prospect.

I hope it’s Sewell or Smith. The other option I want is a trade down if neither is still on the board.
Nice...
Carolina OL or D?
I'd love if the Eagles waste resources on their collapsed roster drafting receivers every year. The Matt Millen approach!

Yup. Their roster is turning into an aging inside out mess.
What would people think about Sewell beeing the pick?
Trade down?
Plenty of receivers in the 2nd and 3rd round, this draft is deep in them. Odds are one of them will be just as good as Chase/Waddle/Smith.

They have Darnold. Laugh, but they need to see what they have in him with real coaching.
Yup. Philly was hot on Waddle. Smith is a good consolation prize, and they keep him away from us.

OL, CB. But they could take Smith or Fields.

Denver has 3 premium WR picks in recent years and 2 premium TE picks. I don't see them going there. I would guess Parsons or Slater if they stick.
not really. Look at the receivers in the NFC South that Carolina has to defend. You can argue Surtain was better than Horn but Carolina picking a CB makes sense.

Nightmare. All eggs are in Golladays basket who quite frankly is overrated and often injured.
Makes me sick
Please
Please
But parsons is right there or a trade down.
Multiple extra picks and still got Smith.

Oh stop. There are pkenty of WRs that can help us a lot
I would dig that.
Exactly,
Or Parsons

The fucking 1st round of the draft isn’t even over yet!
Quit being a bitch.
If Gettleman can’t find a way to trade down here, then tonight is a disaster.
That and there will be receivers in the 2nd and 3rd rounds for us. Let's fix this offensive line.
Ffs
Take AVT or trade down.
Not worried.

Grab Slater and be happy. Great value

This!
If Gettleman can’t find a way to trade down here, then tonight is a disaster.
It's not a disaster if we take Slater or Parsons right here. Either one is a good pick for us. The only sucky thing is Dallas will get the other.
Ffs
Yea tons of Devonta Smith's in this draft....
Doubt it. Fields and Jones are falling like a rock.
They won't do either they'll pick one of the olineman.
Washington at 19 would be too far to move. They’ll stay put and grab BPA.
They didn’t telegraph anything..JFC
Terrace Marshall. He's 6'4" I think
What should they have done? LOL
@AdamSchefter
· 27s
Chicago is trading up from No. 20 to the Giants’ turn at No. 11. QB time....
If Gettleman can’t find a way to trade down here, then tonight is a disaster.
Jesus, so damn dramatic. Lots of trade downs happening tonight, right?
Take AVT or trade down.
We only have 6 picks. Just stay where you are, take the best OL and address WR in the 2nd
AVT, Slater or Paye
Not worried.
Yep and while their roster crumbles they spend yet another first rounder (plus 3rd rounder) on a WR. They're crazy. Let them do it.
I see they did trade it, good. Staying there and taking someone left would have been the eorst case scenario for the evening.
Get a future first for that move please
FUCK!
You mean yes JJ
Right in the mouth....
bw?
Terps?
Lmao at the Eagles, have fun picking #1 in 2022...and get an actual quarterback that can play football.
2022 1 and 4
I see they did trade it, good. Staying there and taking someone left would have been the eorst case scenario for the evening.
Get a future first for that move please
Don’t you feel stupid for crying like a whiny bitch?
5th this year
You mean CAR
That can be huge.
Go Dave!
A fifth this year, and a one and a four next year.
Yes!!!!!
Yep lol...hope we got a some decent picks for it.
I like it.
Watch, now he's going to piss my off by picking Paye.
5th this year
Yeah, have to do that. Love it. Did t think we’d get a 1 but that’s prettt fucking sweet.
Doubt Bears make playoffs next year.
Read it wrong ugh
2022 1 and 4
Don't think so. Ojulari has a degenerative leg condition.
??? They now have two #1s in 2022.
I love this trade. Obviously they wanted Smith
Yes or Terrance Marshall
No, he sucks because he didn't anticipate that Dallas would be stupid and trade their pick to a division rival.
~S
No way. They’re not doing that.
Who says I never give him props?
First time for everything, I guess
Bwahahaha
YES.
I can’t believe he did it!
Now, who is the target at 20?
Paye AVT or Slater at 20 would be great.
Which is great. Want neither
Super. Best move they’ve made in years.
Eagles spend 2 picks on a WR
We get more picks.
They’ll have ammunition, but I don’t even believe they’re thinking about that. Signing KG was to make this thing work with Danny.
Now, who is the target at 20?
Bateman?
NICE.
Bears suck. They are lucky if they win 8 games this year.
That 1st in 2022 could be a very high pick.
😂😂😂🤣🤣
I know LB or Oline are strong possibilities, but with this deep WR class those two may be in play as well.
Especially if their rookie QB plays a lot. They go up against NFC West and AFC North... not an easy 8 games.
10000%. I don’t hate AVT at all but that pick would’ve felt brutal after what just happened.
Bigtime move.
Eagles spend 2 picks on a WR
We get more picks.
+1
Well if Jones fails we will have ammo to move up if needed
LOL.

Actually I meant Denver picking Surtain, but Carolina picking Horn was just as bad. Both CBs being gone is why the 'Boys then traded out.
At least now we ALL have a team to root against next year.

That's one of the best parts of the trade. The Bears might be picking in the top 10.
Agree.
Luckily, I have a bullpen of bitches and they're ALL coming over!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Yeah, this^
Excellent trade by DG. That picked me back up.
Vera Tucker
Parsons
Paye
Phillips
Bateman
Azeez
Should get a good player. And a first next year. Hope the Bears suck
Sure
Agree, maybe we get an explosive player and the picks!
They’re better off with what they got vs taking Smith.
Of course it could happen. AVT, Slater, Paye, both Miami edge, Marshall, Bateman... I would be happy with any of that
Quote:

They should suck...
Judge said when he took over. We want to build the team the right way. This gives flexibility for the future.
Not so much hate for them...just lose plenty of games...they did us a favor
Excellent trade by DG. That picked me back up.
Huh?
and Jimmy Johnson Chart all agree the Giants got the better deal wit the bears getting 48.6 draft value and losing 23.6
So happy we traded down and got that haul from the bears.. that could end up a top 5 pick.
I really hope Peppers takes his skinny ass out.
Maybe he's bat-shit crazy?!
Simple question… was Devanta Smith worth the Giants third round pick? Even amongst the people who loved him on BBI (I wasn’t one of them), I’d guess that 98% would say no.
Life is good.
If AVT is gone it's probably Ojulari it's Paye.
No, but this is a good draft for online. We could very well have a very good guard or tackle. And receiver is strong too.
But he's still gonna be a problem.
Nah. Too many off the field concerns
Parsons and Smith is a problem for opposing offenses with that speed!
Yay 4th time's the charm!
He did exceptionally well with this trade, have to give him that, but I'm still popping champagne the day he's no longer the GM

Slater
Paye

I know Dolphins probably asked Tua for his input, kinda interesting that they went with Waddle over Smith.
Either Smith or Parsons would've been exciting to add, but one was gone and the other was never on our radar according to Rico.
Now let's go get a stud at 20.

Well, at least he got a first round pick next year in the deal.

I would so love this!
For as much as they publicly stand behind jones at every opportunity (which is exactly what they should do, but I think there's a well-rooted personal relationship with the guy too), I don't think they're going to pull the trigger with a year on the clock still. Jones gets his entire rookie deal.
I think it’s more a case that we don’t follow the other teams nearly as closely

Great move by Giants. Big fan. Next year’s draft picks are like gold right now. Super valuable. Projected strong draft. More info on prospects. Significant assets in return. One exec just told me he thought it was a fleecing ... by the Giants!

Thats a clear issue. But he’s the best player on the board right now in terms of talent. Really hoping that’s the guy.
Yep. If he cam stay healthy, I am very confident that he'll be a much better pro than Paye
Tell you what, you are onto something - this is a great idea...
If you can drop back 3 or 4 spots and add a 2nd? Fuck it, why not?
Right. At this point, the grades between players from 20-35ish tend to be very marginal...
Agreed.
Was thinking that too
Quote:
more fun than most any other I can remember
Agreed.
Ditto. I am bummed about Devonta Smith though
Sy in your opinion is next years draft as deep as some are saying?
For real.
Phillips
Darrisaw
Giants can get one of them.
Phillips is likely the best ER with Paye. Go big and take Phillips.
Again, our HC doesn’t think this way. If you like what you saw from Judge in 2020 than there’s no reason not to trust what he wants to do in 2021. He said from day 1 he wants to build a program, he didn’t promise to turn things around instantly. Trust the process.
And why can’t we have value at 20?
What's wrong with their pick?
Let's go!
Create an entire d-line of first round picks.
That is why I keep telling you guys to shut the fuck up!.
; )
Yep I like Ojulari a lot, Paye too. Ojulari seems to fit the system better. Paye may be the better prospect.
Tryon is fine with me.
I think the Giants would prefer to wait on a WR. They supposedly love Josh Palmer, and this is obviously much too early for him.
But if he wanted a mediocre player and the league let him get a mediocre player, is it incredible or predictable?

Biiiiit of a reach.

LOL!!
Paye?
Azeez?

Phillips

Yup. And down here I think I like Phillips.
Maycock may be back on the NFL Network doing his draft previews next year.
Well, we shall see....
By the way, I can’t get too excited picking up an extra 4 and 5th pick. Those guys don’t usually make it big. Special teasers I suppose.
Avoiding Hokie trash is always the smart play
I dont think you understand what the draft is for.
It's about more than this year.
This trade was a great deal for the Giants.
I think they're going JOK
Now we get JOK or Paye.
Quote:
I bet
Where is he playing on that line?
This dude is having a meltdown live on BBI.
It makes all the sense in the world
A guy who is one hit from retirement? Kwity Paye should be there.
At 20 it's really no gamble, IMO.
Miami has kind of sucked in recent years, lol.
Best run defender in the draft at the very least
People taking their first vaccination vacation in Cleveland probably aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.
I don't hate it.
Considering the capital they acquired tonight, it's an A draft so far.
It's not impossible, you can never have too many pass rushers.
Seconded
Just kidding
Tryon is one of those guys like Moehrig who no one has talked about. Interesting to see here he goes.
I don't hate it.

I don't know him at all but was told he's got a lower body issue.
Good call! It's a good story. I love the guys who are easy to root for.
That just means we all were loudly wrong on Paye's value.
And people criticize MadPlaid giving him to Giants at 42 in BBI Mock
OK I lol'ed
Or AVT
Whoever gets JOK is getting the best LB IMO.
I think you are going to be right soon.

Honest. This is agent stuff now. So...
I'd be stunned if it isn't. What a fantastic night. Paye, plus all of that draft capital.
I most certainly am not begging for him at 20, let alone at 11
Great name for a LB that's for sure.

Guaranteed.
Paye is a fine pick here too but IMO we should take the Domer.

Paye had the highest pass rush win rate in the Big 10 in 2020.

Whoops. AVT off board.

JOK is kind of small at LB

Hopefully the Tuck comparisons come to fruition even though I don’t quite see that pass rush potential.

That’s cool. But you gotta finish. We all saw Olivier Vernon.
I could live with either.
Need a G over an OT here.
commercial.
LOL
Them and BBI both!
Jones and 20 for Aaron Rodgers

Waiting for trade offers?

The teams Vernon was on had a lot of problems.. Him and JPP were in a near impossible situation.. they both were forced to play 95% of plays and had no inside pass rush to help them out.
It’s like the ultimate revenge for the Giants.
Good point.

It was a joke. Forgot the /s
I like this pick. Guy runs hell of a route.
Offense will have options this year, that’s for sure.
who laid money on Toney as the Giants #1 pick?
He's one of the guys who was always predicted to go late first. Bateman used to be graded higher but he has fallen.
Yeh Jesus we are having people judge this trade here just because they don't like who we took at 20 and we still have a wildcard 1st rounder next year. The Bears have potential to suck. Akiem Hicks makes that D go and he's getting up there and believe started to break down last year.
Me either.
Toney was not falling that far
I mean the same was true with Slayton and they fixed it.
Ahh you must be such a joy to be around.
Shepard is one more concussion away from retiring anyway
I disagree with your take on culture. Players that buy in to the team create a good culture.
Nice player.
Better than Elijah Moore?
That would make me happy
Just reread Sy's write up and it seems pretty contradictory if you read both paragraphs...
I bet Judge wanted him That is not a DG player.
Quote:
Gettleman. Could've got Toney in the 2nd. Gettleman needs to go work for the Raiders.

Still a reach. Like the trade...not liking the pick.
Speaking of which, who do we have on the roster as a return man?
Quote:

He was an Alabama recruit, so there's a bit of a connection.
My guy in Minneapolis said this is stubborn and wanting out of need rather than bpa.
He's repped some of my former teammates, so we have some history, and is a senior dude now. He had Paye.
Tells us a lot about the investment in Jones.

There's a very good chance that pick ends up being a top 5 pick.

no one yet that you actually want to return kicks/punts.
Oh god, another one of those? What is Gettleman's obsession with the Senior Bowl about?
WR: Kenny Golladay
WR: Sterling Shepard
WR: Darius Slayton
WR: Kadarius Toney
WR: John Ross
TE: Evan Engram
RB: Saquon Barkley
Jason Garrett:
I know ppl in the Harrisburg area very familiar with the man and his history. We dodged a bullet
this isn't the 7th round. Overdrafting in the 1st kills teams.
Yep.

We have Peppers, Jackson, Ross, and Pettis already. I wouldn't have Toney return kicks. Maybe punts. but I'd save him for offensive snaps.
During the Senior Bowl when he played with 4 QB's he never played with before.

Yeah, I saw that too. Apparently he did not drop one regular season pass and Sy did not ding his hands at all.

wasn’t exactly glowing in his write up about Toney. Don’t know how to feel about this. Feels like they reached for an offensive playmaker.

Opposite for me...especially with Paye sitting there. DG normally goes big people.
I would not be surprised to see them go WR later with Nico Collins or Josh Palmer. Cluster draft again.
Fuckin A. Hell of a night!!!
Those teams can afford to take chances. Giants have the worst record in the NFL over the last 5 years because of picks like this.
Oh the horror. lol
I didn't watch much of the Gators but he was good for them. He looks pretty shifty. It's a WTF from me, but here's to rooting for him! Kick some azz Kadarius...

I thought Shep had his best games as a flanker though, not the slot receiver the fan base thinks.
Well he can def drop his hips.
I was thinking the same thing.. Going back to Barkley draft.. they did exactly what I was hoping Giants would do..
That makes fantasy football more confusing. Who do you pick, Robinson or Etienne?
ojulari
tryon
oweh
would like anyone of those guys
jags can't block and have a productive running back
but select a running back instead of protecting there franchise? Suspect.

Florida. Fuck him.
No they don’t. Who have they hit on recently?
They do? is that why they do not have any?
Do they? What WRs?
Devin Duvernay
James Proche
Hollywood Brown
Miles Boykin
Jaleel Scott
Jordan Lasley
Chris Moore
Breshad Perriman
Darren Waller
Michael Campanaro
Aaron Pellette
Tommy Streeter
Torrey Smith
Tandon Doss
These are the WRs they've drafted over the last 10 drafts. I looked until 2007 and it doesn't get any better.

Yeah I was hoping like hell but I figured no way we'd be lucky enough for him to last to 42
