Cordarrelle Patterson rumor & Toney pick

In Rico's asshat post last night, he noted that the Giants weren't happy about a leak for a free agent signing. I remembered a few weeks back, there was some news about the Giants looking to bring in Patterson.

Patterson is that swiss army knife player, can play at WR, RB, in the slot, as a returner. Tons of versatility. We know this is the type of player who Judge wants. But that kind of fizzled out and he signed with Atlanta.

Now, Toney is a different body type (Patterson much bigger/physical), but he generally does the same type of stuff as a matchup problem, someone who can play multiple positions. Toney is smaller, faster, and younger (obviously). So I wonder if the free agent player that got the NYG angry leaked was Patterson because it pointed to a role on the team that would be filled in the draft and could have tipped off Toney.

Also, and I"m going to post highlights on my BigBlueVCR twitter, I look at Toney and I see a bigger Dave Meggett in some of the things I could see the Giants doing with him out of the backfield, lining up at WR, maybe throwing a pass, etc.
