picked up a 3rd and still got our guy. Great pick. Great draft so far. This is a phenomenal pick. Every UGA game I watched, dude was always in the backfield.
All 3 of my UGA fan buddies texted me telling me he should have gone in the first.
Really only look at the uniform and position of players.
Good value imo, could have been the pick at 42, and another pick next year....what many have been banging the table for this team to do for a long time.
STRENGTHS: Excellent get-off burst, bend and stride length to consistently threaten the corner…understands pass rush geometry, setting up a speed track to out-race
blockers to the pocket…has the arm length of a player three inches taller…uses well-timed, physical hands and body flexibility at the top of his rush to corner and
close…his edge speed forces holding penalties…senses how blockers want to attack him and uses that against them…owns a compact frame and plays with better
power than expected…uses violence to shed blockers and attack ball carriers (five forced fumbles the last two seasons)…assignment sound vs. the run with reliable
backfield vision…looks comfortable dropping into space and playing on his feet…described as “humble” and “laid-back” by his teammates and the Bulldogs’ coaches
praise his character and attitude (only freshman captain under Kirby Smart)…led Georgia in sacks each of the last two seasons.
WEAKNESSES: Lacks an ideal body type for edge work…relies on his outside quickness and needs to introduce more variety to his rush plan, including a more effective
inside move…a little stiff in his ankles…frequently finds himself too far upfield, opening lanes for the quarterback to move the pocket…needs to better break down
when closing on the backfield…didn’t miss any games the last two seasons, but suffered a torn ACL in his right knee (November 2017) as a senior in high school, which
led to his redshirt season in 2018.
SUMMARY: A two-year starter at Georgia, Ojulari lined up as the JACK linebacker in head coach Kirby Smart’s 3-3-5 base scheme, standing up and rushing with his
hand on the ground. After a promising redshirt freshman campaign, he was one of the best pass rushers in the SEC in 2020, leading the conference in sacks, tackles
for loss and forced fumbles. Ojulari senses how blockers want to attack him and is very skilled at using his burst/bend to attack their outside shoulder, greasing the
corner and detaching from blocks with his violent hands. While he lacks elite size for the position, that shouldn’t limit his NFL ceiling if he continues to diversify his
approach and develop his counters. Overall, Ojulari is an instinctive and explosive athlete with the dip-and-rip cornering skills and scheme versatility to become an
impact NFL pass rusher. He projects as a younger version of Yannick Ngakoue
With this pick and next year haul ! Wow just wow - he is my fav guy - I sent his highlights to my friends a month ago !!!! Og in third ? If board allows!!!
RE: My ideal draft....was a trade down....get Azeez in 1st
Still early but this looks like the strongest start to a draft I can remember. Realize the medical, but that’s what caused him to slide in first place, mitigating risk is big in round 1, which pushes guys down. Have to trust they’d have taken him completely off the board if it was too risky.

Area afc scout that wants him on their team haha, nice try afc area scout, nice try.
re-checked Sy's grade on him. He rated him as an 84. Pretty crazy, did most teams not agree with his assessment or did the injury history scare them off? Hope he turns into a good one, been awhile since we got to cheer for a legit pass rusher on this team.
Lorenzo Carter had 14 sacks + 21.5 TFL in 48 games

Ojulari's been more productive in a tougher conference than Paye. I think Ojulari is a superior prospect to Paye. IFFFFF Ojulari is healthy, Ojulari in the second is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than Paye in the first, AINEC for me.
They had him one spot ahead of Jaycee Horn in their player rankings. Wow.
Today they expected him to be the 2nd player off the board of all the guys left to start the day.
This is awesome. Let's hope his knee is okay because if so then this guy is a steal. I don't understand's y'all comparing him to Carter at all. It looks like he plays NOTHING like him. Just because of the Georgia thing? Come on. How about we focus on the Osi comparisons that have come from more reputable sources?

He has a degenerative knee
Technically speaking everyones knees are degenerative. Time is undefeated.

Well that's your opinion. He looks like kinda small out there.Athletically I don't think it's close
Ojulari is far more proven as a pass rusher coming out of Georgia.
Lol. Carter was a far superior physical freak. Then he got a ruptured Achilles. Ojukari was doing ok and there are medical flags he has a degenerative knee. That’s why he fell this far.
sure the Giants checked out his knee. It probably did scare off other teams, but Sy said it isn't anything to be concerned about. Somebody also said that a reporter for The Athletic said the same thing.

The medical teams of all NFL teams disagree until the giants took the risk/reward decision

He is on the small side compared to Paye, but I wouldn't call him small. And if you take away everything, would you rather have a guy who produced in the toughest conference in CFB or a guy who didn't in an inferior conference?
"Azeez Ojulari aligns as an EDGE defender for the Bulldogs defense. He will align either in a 2-point or 3-point stance and has played on all three downs for their defense. He plays with good reactive athleticism when out on the edge and demonstrates good quickness, effort, and body control. Although he appears to lack ideal length for a traditional 3-4 OLB, he demonstrates very good pop in his hips and hands at the point of attack to set the edge. In the passing game, he gets home with good effort and motor. He needs to improve and refine his overall technique as a pass rusher, but shows flashes of the athleticism that projects him to have success at the next level.
Ideal Role: Off the ball 4-3 OLB.
Scheme Fit: Any defense with hybrid even/odd front principles will have no problems using him as a valuable chess piece. "
I hope that doesn't disqualify him for some here. But his film per DD was dynamic, real bend, torque, and speed. There was a thread a few days ago Olujari vs Parsons--all the complexities there for both. Hope this works!!
Downside: JonC was not a big fan, but that may have been because he had other ER faves already gone. Jon has been keen on ER ever since we passed on Josh Allen. I think many of us were shocked we didn't go that way. Not saying Olujari is his equal--not as powerful or heavy, hope he grows into a role.

That’s the issue with this draft. No in person evals Re covid. Anyone figure it out yet the giants are smartly loading up picks for next year? Anyone?
He did looked pissed and annoyed. IDK, maybe the guy he wanted was taken just before...or maybe Joe Judge overruled him and John Mara told him to sit in the corner. :P

He would have been in the discussion at #20 if the knee wasn't an issue. Something to keep an eye on. Has the high level speed and burst off the edge, a natural pass rusher. NYG doesn't have anything like him, about time.

You're right. They couldn't have examined his knee. They were going off someone else's reports.
Sy's profile: Ahead of Phillips and just behind KP
In the mix at #11 Sy' believed, sorry if already copied:
Quote:
2. Azeez Ojulari / Georgia / 6’2-249
Grade: 84
Summary: Third year sophomore entry from Marietta, Georgia. A two-year starter that earned 2nd Team All SEC honors in 2020. The semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award led the SEC in tackles for loss and sacks in 2020, a year after leading the Bulldogs in sacks and pressures. Ojulari is a mature, hardworking kid that gets the most out of his talents. He won team-awards for most improved player in 2019 as well as one for his efforts during the offseason strength and conditioning program. Ojulari was also a team captain in 2019, the first time a freshman has earned that honor in the Coach Smart era. This is a kid that has high-end talent that can be used in multiple ways for a defense, and it is paired with top notch intangibles. His game really started to blossom as the 2020 season came to a close. He finished with 5 sacks over his last 3 games. Ojulari still has more physical development to achieve, as he will need to add functional weight to play the every down edge in the NFL, but his versatility, talent, and intangibles will make him a dangerous defensive weapon and he can be one of the best when things come together.
*No inside information here. I think Ojulari is on the NYG short list for #11 overall. I’m not exactly sure what NYG is looking to add to their outside pass rush. Do they want a pure burner (what Carter was supposed to turn into, and still can), or do they want an inside-out versatile piece? If it is the former, Ojulari is a very strong possibility. I think he has the best get off in the group. That is a great place to start. I also believe who he is as a person will be exactly what NYG wants to add.
He did looked pissed and annoyed. IDK, maybe the guy he wanted was taken just before...or maybe Joe Judge overruled him and John Mara told him to sit in the corner. :P
Read my post about 10up...said something similar.
Maybe Judge really has the gavel...?
Probably pissed bc he’s finally making some shrewd moves, then one of his computer guys is telling him everyone on BBI is giving Judge the credit:)

Diagnosed him with degenerative lower leg condition last week in Indianapolis, that's probably why he dropped out of the 1st round. Still love the pick.. Diehl rated him as the best edge rusher, certainly trust his opinion Link - ( New Window )
This draft is Belichickian in concept and execution.
Did you see the camera shot of the war room at Jints Central?
Gettleman was twirling his hands and looking real nervous. And then you see Judge to the right side looking at Gettleman and laughing at him...
Like: "Trust me Dave. I've got this..."
So this is where we are at? All good decisions are Judge, bad ones DG.
It's okay BW to admit you were wrong. DG killed it in FA. And do far is killing the draft.
Take a deep breath, and say it with me,.............
Maybe I was wrong on DG.
Fwiw, my comment was not meant as a knock on Gettleman and he gets props for looking ahead in the best interests of the franchise. But in previous years,I think Giants would have drafted Ojulari at 42 without the trade and without banking picks for next year. It just feels different now.
I don't think he liked seeing the information banner on DJ's 39 turnovers and Barkley's 14 missed games on the TV.
People seem to forget all these guys are watching this exact feed. How do those idiots at the draft think Toney felt about the Giants fans reaction to him being picked? Great welcoming huh? I think that's why in his first Giants.com video all he asked for was for the fans to please support him lol.

Maybe because this year there were teams that wanted to trade up? People think it's easy to just trade down. It's not, you need was team willing to move up.

. I think you’re all overlooking the fact that this was a COVID year and what DG said about that and next year’s draft.
The rules are completely different this year. I think it’s that as much or more than Joe Judge.
they didn't take him at 42...such a huge need you figure they would have taken him there. Someone who was 'supposed' to go in round 1. Slips to mid 2nd. 2020 highlights aren't too impressive either.
This doesn't make much sense granted it's probably 4th hand information

That's where Ojulari was red-flagged because of a degenerative lower leg condition according to Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline. Doctors were concerned the previous injury would lead to progressive, often irreversible deterioration, and loss of function in the ligaments.

Steady riser the last few years and came on very strong in '20. I think it's a plus coming out of Smart's system where AO experienced a 3-4 and 4-3, but mostly a 3-4. I think Graham will be able to move him around and find some favorable match-ups.
The only reason Ojulari slipped this far was because of arthritis that exists as a result of a high school knee injury. But he was checked out by renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews this year and given the stamp of approval. Still, it scared off teams and he slipped from a late first-round talent into the middle of the second round. But Ojulari's versatility is a perfect fit in the Giants' multiple defense.
"Really talented," said one executive. "Checks a lot of the boxes," proclaimed a scout. "Great talent. Will keep getting better," Mel Kiper Jr. said.
Love it...

Beautiful...
Hell has frozen over.
Been here since 1994 and this is maybe the first time I've ever agreed with bw.
Love that they traded back and got more picks.
Love that they got a pass rusher (their biggest need IMO)
Love that it's Ojulari. Beyond being the top EDGE on many boards, including Bruegler's, Dave Diehl loves this guy. Says he reminds him of Osi.
Love that they got him in the 2nd instead of the 1st.
Love that the Giants are LOADED for the 2022 draft.
Get another OL in round 3 and I'll be even happier.

even when you hit on a pick it doesn't mean it's for sure they will get to a second contract - just as we saw with DT. If the guy is healthy right now and talented it's just a risk reward assessment, and since they were able to add another 3rd for next year the risk seems very low.
In a good year 2 draft picks get to the 2nd contracts with the team that drafts them. Not the worst thing in the world to draft a guy and get a few productive years even if it doesn't go too much further than that. Plenty of guys enter with no injury concerns but then suffer major injuries (like Carter). Just part of the game.

Do whatever mental gymnastics you need to. If you like the draft, DG gets credit either directly, indirectly and more likely both. He hired Judge. He is choosing to listen to him if that is happening.

No, it's entirely possible. Just a matter of risk. He is healthy now. He COULD develop a condition later.
can argue all we want, he’s the ER so many have wanted for seemingly
several drafts. My only comment is show me the MR of the knee, let me sit down with one of our premier imaging specialists and sports medicine guys, and then we might have an,idea if this was a good pick, great pick or terrible.
Then give him three years on the field and we’ll know.
I've had two knee surgeries including an ACL reconstruction.
My doctors told me that getting it fixed would give me less arthritis, but either way, I'd end up with arthritis in the knee.
Assuming he had a similar conversation, the questions are: When? And as an elite athlete, can he manage that with ice and analgesics until his career is over?
My guess is the answer was probably something like: "You'll need knee replacement in your 50s but you should be ok for at least 10 years if you follow a maintenance regimen for the knee, including specific exercises (not really a problem for an NFL player), ice and NSAIDs."
Plus those guys at the combine get payed to find any little thing. That is their job. They are going to point out every little detail. Teams need to figure out on their own how to use that information. I feel better with Andrews going to bat for him. Question is, Who is payed Andrews?
"As I reported last week, Azeez Ojulari/Edge/Georgia had a bunch of significant medical red flags (knee/ankle) diagnosed during Combine medicals, which is the reason he's dropping down draft boards," Pauline said, via his personal Twitter account.
Dan Duggan of The Athletic, however, tweeted on Friday morning that Ojulari had his knee checked out by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews and it was declared strong and structurally sound, but acknowledged that teams could have had their own medical checks done and thought differently.
"Checked in on the reports about Azeez Ojulari’s knee," Duggan said. "He tore his ACL as a high school senior and redshirted his first year at Georgia. But he didn’t miss a game in his two active seasons at UGA. Source says Dr. James Andrews examined Ojulari’s knee in January and sent a letter to teams saying it was strong and there were no problems with it. Obviously, teams did their own exams in Indy, so that could explain his slide. But some team could get a steal on Day 2."

Maybe Cartilage with a degenerative arthritis, but you would find that on most people with a reconstructive surgery. It's the irreversible deterioration and loss of function in the ligaments that sounds off.
I hope the Giants paid that doctor who red flagged Azeez well.
Mrs Section125...DG did it again, traded down, scarfed up another 2022 DP and got the guy 50%(or more) of BBI wanted. And Sy thought this would be the guy the Giants would go for. Kudos Sy!

It almost feels like it is corrupt ... or insider trading. I don't remember them maneuvering like this ever in recent times.
Even if both players turn out to be busts (and I do not feel like that is the case for 1 second. The thought NEVER crossed my mind.). These moves seem like master strokes.
Now they have extra picks to use next year to move up again and maybe get an extra 2?

Cedric Jones 2.0
Sorry, on context time will tell if we got him at the right place. We may only need him for 2-3 years given our window and the stockpile of picks we have next year.

Sigh
If the Giants really wanted Strahan, they would've taken him in the first.
Disclaimer (for those lookin' to disagree): Not saying Azeez = Strahan
A receiver who cant be marked. A good to very good EDGE rusher who dropped because of a seemingly overblown knee injury (ACLs are not degenerative to my knowledge) and we get another bastard at corner.
I love this guy. Poor audio quality unfortunately. First interview as a Giant - ( New Window )
Damn-- He said Andrew Thomas was there with him tonight? And he said it was just family there with him. I have to imagine he and Andrew Thomas were pumped that he got drafted there tonight.

What are you guys talking about. They're not direct or fair comps for one another. Different players, body types/positions: Edge/DL (Paye)/ER (Olujari) from ILB/OLB 3/4
Not all ACYL injuries require maintenance. I dunno what AP did, I dunno what Thomas Davis did....but they played at a very high level after suffering not 1 but multiple knee/leg injuries.
We just got a guy at our primary need position that was rumored as a 1st rounder. You all are fixated on "what if he turns out to get hurt?"
Getting him, in a year when teams arent allowed full access to the player, after having the grade we had on himand hos production?????
I just have to say-- I cannot believe there are so many ppl here
comparing this guy to Carter and thinking he's "going to be another Zo Carter". Watching this guy's tape he looks absolutely NOTHING Like Carter rushing the passer. I remember watching Carter's highlights the night he was drafted and just noticing how surprised I was at how slow he was turning the corner. I had remembered watching him run a 4.45 40 in the combine so I had no idea just how sluggish he looked getting around and getting in and out of his cuts. He had great straight-line speed but ZERO agility and quickness around the edge... and straight-line speed essentially does you no good as an edge rusher tbh. Olujari looks way more like Osi. I didn't realize how spot on that comparison was. Everything-- his mannerisms, the way he runs, he reminds me a ton of Osi. Booger Macfarland (even though I think he's annoying) said Olujari is the best pass rusher in this draft. He said the 3 pieces of the pass rush you look for: the "get-off," "the move", and the "finish" ... overall no one does all 3 things better than Olujari. From what I remember Carter I even noticed had a slow get-off, no move whatsoever, and then the one thing he could do was he had good finishing closing speed, but the problem is he's never in position to to finish in the first place lol.
Plus those guys at the combine get payed to find any little thing. That is their job. They are going to point out every little detail. Teams need to figure out on their own how to use that information. I feel better with Andrews going to bat for him. Question is, Who is payed Andrews?

The eye test does lie.
He's 6'2, 249, with 34 1/2 inch arms and 10 1/2 in hands.
Let's think about that for a second.
Does blake martinez look small? Because he's listed at 6'2, 237.
Chris Snee, a dominant offensive linemen, had 31 inch arms and 9 1/4 in hands.
Of Ojulari. Wow. This could be a home run. He was playing the best football of his career at the end of 2020 and isn’t a finished product. Very excited to see him on the field.
and it would have aligned with my perceived value, based on the pre-draft analysis I read. But, who cares? The result is the same, with the added bonus of future picks.
With his health concerns thought we might have gone for Owusu Koramoah. I liked Owusu too who lines up in the box 51% and can handle TE's. Excited to see what Azeez can do for us. Good to see everyone pumped over him being drafted for us too.

and it would have aligned with my perceived value, based on the pre-draft analysis I read. But, who cares? The result is the same, with the added bonus of future picks.
Ojulari is very exciting to have on-board.
Interesting point.
Probably fair to also note that not many really saw Ojulari as good value at #11 though. I think most of posts I recall on here (and other sites) had him in the back half of round one. But even that tells you how the draft is a bit of a guessing game since he dropped all the way to #50.
I’m not buying they aren’t worried about the knee...if you arent
was my favorite pass rusher in this draft. He's the one who most looks like a 3-4 outside linebacker to me.
If you told me he would last until 50, I wouldn't have believed you.
Agree. Clear that the knee a factor in his dropping. I wonder: you see many if not most OL wearing braces to protect the joint even if no prior injury history. Would it cost him too much speed/athleticism (which are his game) if he wore one prophylactically? To try to mitigate deterioration.
RE: I've had two knee surgeries including an ACL reconstruction.
And if he needs cortisone and/or hyaluronic acid injections along the way, he'll have ready access to those.
His knee, even if he's at risk for a degenerative condition, should not be an issue for the first portion of his career. If anything, it'll be something to be concerned about for his second contract, but let's hope he plays well enough that we have to worry about that when the time comes.
Agree. I've had ACL reconstruction for a bad football injury, and at least 8 hyaluronic injections (Gel One) in that knee. The state of art of treatment/surgeries for the joint pretty consensual and continues to advance. I'm curious why so many teams shied away and let him drop so far.
Ojulari is pretty damn productive if you're talking about stats. Not sure what you mean.
Did you not bring up his height and weight?
Yeah, and I'm not getting the "we looks small" part of it. His height/weight tosses that in the dumpster.. You can say he "looks small" but he isn't. And his effectiveness and the video backs it up. Even his scouting reports praise his physical makeup.

No, I'm genuinely confused how size is up for debate when we have his official measurements. It's like arguing water is wet.
We got our Georgia guy, we going to get an Alabama guy soon?
You feeling okay?
We got our Georgia guy, we going to get an Alabama guy soon?
His medical stuff seems way more like second contract stuff, guy can play.
Lots of opportunity to be a real solution at Edge.
+1. Talk about value. Sy's highest rated left by a mile.

Lots of opportunity to be a real solution at Edge.
He should honestly get 6 or so sacks this year if he's a player in this league on how we operate on defense.
picked up a 3rd and still got our guy. Great pick. Great draft so far. This is a phenomenal pick. Every UGA game I watched, dude was always in the backfield.
All 3 of my UGA fan buddies texted me telling me he should have gone in the first.
Good value imo, could have been the pick at 42, and another pick next year....what many have been banging the table for this team to do for a long time.
How can you be mad about that?
blockers to the pocket…has the arm length of a player three inches taller…uses well-timed, physical hands and body flexibility at the top of his rush to corner and
close…his edge speed forces holding penalties…senses how blockers want to attack him and uses that against them…owns a compact frame and plays with better
power than expected…uses violence to shed blockers and attack ball carriers (five forced fumbles the last two seasons)…assignment sound vs. the run with reliable
backfield vision…looks comfortable dropping into space and playing on his feet…described as “humble” and “laid-back” by his teammates and the Bulldogs’ coaches
praise his character and attitude (only freshman captain under Kirby Smart)…led Georgia in sacks each of the last two seasons.

So did Smith of Dallas

Haha well done!
I bet you’re fun at parties too
Area afc scout that wants him on their team haha, nice try afc area scout, nice try.
There is concern Re his knee being degenerative. Says something Re the Carter Achilles rupture.

Ojulari is far more proven as a pass rusher coming out of Georgia.

LOL!
He has a degenerative knee
Ojulari's been more productive in a tougher conference than Paye. I think Ojulari is a superior prospect to Paye. IFFFFF Ojulari is healthy, Ojulari in the second is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than Paye in the first, AINEC for me.
My belief as well
I liked him over Paye. Paye is a 4-3 DE
Remember, the Giants passed on Paye TWICE.
Yeah but who knows what they're thinking was.

Paye and his 4 sacks. LOL

re-checked Sy's grade on him. He rated him as an 84. Pretty crazy, did most teams not agree with his assessment or did the injury history scare them off? Hope he turns into a good one, been awhile since we got to cheer for a legit pass rusher on this team.
He has a degenerative knee
Technically speaking everyones knees are degenerative. Time is undefeated.

Lol. Carter was a far superior physical freak. Then he got a ruptured Achilles. Ojukari was doing ok and there are medical flags he has a degenerative knee. That’s why he fell this far.

DG, you’re relieved. Go home...

#50 NYG: Azeez Ojulari - EGDE/Georgia
He would have been in the discussion at #20 if the knee wasn't an issue. Something to keep an eye on. Has the high level speed and burst off the edge, a natural pass rusher. NYG doesn't have anything like him, about time.

You're right. They couldn't have examined his knee. They were going off someone else's reports.
No question. Smart trade back and great pick. Will be one of the top ten picks of this entire draft.

Fwiw, my comment was not meant as a knock on Gettleman and he gets props for looking ahead in the best interests of the franchise. But in previous years,I think Giants would have drafted Ojulari at 42 without the trade and without banking picks for next year. It just feels different now.
People seem to forget all these guys are watching this exact feed. How do those idiots at the draft think Toney felt about the Giants fans reaction to him being picked? Great welcoming huh? I think that's why in his first Giants.com video all he asked for was for the fans to please support him lol.

Steady riser the last few years and came on very strong in '20. I think it's a plus coming out of Smart's system where AO experienced a 3-4 and 4-3, but mostly a 3-4. I think Graham will be able to move him around and find some favorable match-ups.

What the...

That's where Ojulari was red-flagged because of a degenerative lower leg condition according to Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline. Doctors were concerned the previous injury would lead to progressive, often irreversible deterioration, and loss of function in the ligaments.
No, it's entirely possible. Just a matter of risk. He is healthy now. He COULD develop a condition later.
Then give him three years on the field and we’ll know.

Ojulari he had rated 84. That's a good 1st rd type of pick.
Aaron Robinson he had rated 79. A pretty good 2nd rd pick.
And Toney is a pretty good 3rd rd pick.
Pretty good. Though OL is an issue.
We just got a guy at our primary need position that was rumored as a 1st rounder. You all are fixated on "what if he turns out to get hurt?"
Getting him, in a year when teams arent allowed full access to the player, after having the grade we had on himand hos production?????

Plus those guys at the combine get payed to find any little thing. That is their job. They are going to point out every little detail. Teams need to figure out on their own how to use that information. I feel better with Andrews going to bat for him. Question is, Who is payed Andrews?

No way I would take him over Paye
Ojulari's been more productive in a tougher conference than Paye. I think Ojulari is a superior prospect to Paye. IFFFFF Ojulari is healthy, Ojulari in the second is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than Paye in the first, AINEC for me.

If you told me he would last until 50, I wouldn't have believed you.

Blake Martinez? You think this guy looks like Black Martinez?
Two other comments:
Mac Jones was a 1st round pick? Really? There are some nice passes in the game but he regularly misses easy ones.
Leatherwood looks great. No wonder he went in the 1st rd. Would have loved him on the Giants.
Bama UGa - ( New Window )
Pick 42: WR Kadarius Toney
and it would have aligned with my perceived value, based on the pre-draft analysis I read.

That being said he’s a great fit and exactly what we need. A guy that is going to bring consistent, if not explosive, pressure with high motor.
If you told me he would last until 50, I wouldn't have believed you.

My point is if you think Ojulari "looks small" when he's bigger and longer than a guy who's quite successful and effective.
That's easy to say with numbers,on the field,it doesn't always tell the story.

So you look at height and weight and say that's it. I've got the answer. Or are you just hoping to win the battle of the words.

No, I'm genuinely confused how size is up for debate when we have his official measurements. It's like arguing water is wet.
Baldy on Ojulari - ( New Window )
Well that's what you get,a state of confusion
You can watch guys who people claim to be 6 foot, and you wonder if it's just for show.Knowing how the NFL can be all about size.
The quarterback for the Cardinals is a good example.
