Smith and Brown on the board.
Dalman is a good player at Center.
Jimmy Googs : 5/1/2021 12:39 pm : link
Add a few more pounds and he would have been a great guy for Giants to add...
Wrong Smith
jeff57 : 5/1/2021 12:40 pm : link

Elerson Smith
JonC : 5/1/2021 12:41 pm : link

Can never have enough Pass Rushers......
Simms11 : 5/1/2021 12:41 pm : link
they served us well in past!
Great pick by Dallas. Fuck.
Anakim : 5/1/2021 12:42 pm : link
Cox can cover TEs and RBs with the best of 'em. Cox, Parsons, Smith. Badass LB corp.
Project pick

Giants take Elerson Smith, an edge rusher from Northern Iowa. He was first-team All-American in 2019 but opted out of spring season in 2020. Dane Brugler says some scouts are intrigued with him as a tight end. #Giants
The two remaining picks have to be Offense IMO....
Simms11 : 5/1/2021 12:44 pm : link
1 O and 3 D so far.
My pick for NYG #116:

I really wanted Jabril Cox
Wow
BSIMatt : 5/1/2021 12:44 pm : link
That is an exciting pick. This was one of the guys I was hoping the Giants could somehow nab, for some reason I thought he was projected to go higher. His pro day was unbelievable. Great pick.
Sleeper for the giants

You got it right.
Pro day
BSIMatt : 5/1/2021 12:46 pm : link

The 6-foot-7 and 270-pound Smith ran a 4.71 40-yard dash minutes after he wowed the group with a 41.5 inch vertical leap and a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump.

Still don't understand how a guy with those dimensions can jump like that..unreal.

Those scouts should be fired! The guy had 14 sacks in 2019.
Don't mean to be critical,

By the end of this thread. Smith will be 290 lb

UNI’s Elerson Smith jumped 41.5″ vert, 127″ broad at his Pro Day, and benched 225 lbs 26 times with 33 1/4″ arms That vertical may be in the 99th percentile, broad 93rd for EDGE, that’s some freaky lower body explosiveness He also ran a 4.69 at 6’6 1/2″ weighing 262 pounds!

Smith added 63 tackles and 21.5 tackles for loss on the year, marking one of the best single-season performances in UNI history. He also contributed 14 quarterback hits, 4 pass breakups and 2 blocked kicks on special teams. Smith drastically improved on his sophomore season as he had 19 total tackles and 7.5 sacks for the year.

If teams keep going 3 and out, our offense gets the ball more : )

With his vertical and wingspan, they could certainly see him as a red zone weapon. Double dip!
Don't know anything about him...
Brown_Hornet : 5/1/2021 12:54 pm : link
... So why do I love the pick?

Because it's yet another footnote that the giants like what they have in their offensive line.
Interesting that Nwangwu was the next RB off the board...

Ha! Eagles take yet another corner
Jim in Forest Hills : 5/1/2021 12:58 pm : link
We really fucked them by stealing Robinson.
Rhamondre Stevenson was a popular name on BBI
Big Blue Blogger : 5/1/2021 12:58 pm : link
He goes to New England, where Belichick likes a battering ram on his RB committee.

Great hands....guy looks like a terrific pass rush prospect.

Btw,can we necer have Jesse Armstead on camera saying things ever again? Who's call was that? I thought he was having a stroke.

Agreed. I think those two get cut after training camp and we roll with 6 edge guys: Ojulari, Smith, Odenigbo, Anderson, Coughlin, and Brown.

This draft
eric2425ny : 5/1/2021 1:05 pm : link
proves the front office and Judge are not concerned about what we have on the offensive line.

Who would have expected three of the first 4 picks to be on D?

Would feel much better if we can get Trai Turner in the house.
Turner is burnt toast

He's done, was horrible last year. Just a name. There will be better players to add as off-season progresses.
If our O-line ends up being our weak spot,
CT Charlie : 5/1/2021 1:18 pm : link
next year we'll have free agency and a high first round pick – maybe two high ones – to shore it up, again. If the O-line is adequate or better, then we'll have a good season.

I’m shocked. Good luck to the kid anyway.

If our OL ends up being a weak spot again, and the only guy we wind up adding was Fulton, then we suck at this...
Fulton is likely a better option for
