In looking at the roster all of the key players are in their 20s
Their are a couple of outliers such as Rudolf, Glennon, etc. but this core is being built for sustained success
though some of the pickups this offseason may push it up a little bit going forward. Also none of the rookies project to be full time starters as opposed to last year (which would have brought the age down a little).
Engram and Shepherd are the only 2 left and more than likely gone after this season. I like Shepherd but with that contract and cap savings he more than likely will be asked to take a pay cut or move on.
If he doesn't take a HUGE step forward, this team is going nowhere and will be back in rebuild mode next year.
Disagree, their building the core now, if Jones falls flat this season they have the draft capital to press reset on the QB position. The real nightmare is if Jones clearly isn't the guy this season, and then the next QB is also turns out to not be the answer. That could be about 3 wasted years at least in that scenario.

You disagreed and then proved my point. Ha! QBs (not named Mahomes) usually peak in year 3. So, if Jones sucks next year...it'll be 4 years until we know if the next QB is "the man." This core will be gone by then and DG will be fired next offseason. It's a QB league...Jones has to get a lot better.

There's that, and also you're losing prime years on your defensive stars as well. We don't talk about it much, but we burned an all-pro year from Bradberry and a pro bowl year from Martinez.
Never forget when he made that emergency start for the Vikings in that playoff game vs GB IN 2013.
Giants were NFL's third-youngest team in 2020 based on snap count - ( New Window )
