Vander Esch is now officially injury prone and I think that’s why they drafted Parsons. They still haven’t picked up his option which is pretty telling.
I’d rather they have good LBers than a good secondary so it’s fine with me.
VanderEsch can't stay on the field with his injury history
...when they get demolished by OL who take advantage of their over eagerness and lack of understanding. That's one thing about speed; when you don't study and you are as dumb as a rock you can get out of position and fall into a trap block much quicker than most.
On the guys they wanted in Horn and Surtain. They drafted two inside lLBs which tells you that they know they have issues at that spot. and even if they wanted to might not have money for Venderesch now that Mahomes money for a mid level QB.
Add to the fact that their OL is aging badly. Why does that matter to the D? Because they can't run the ball like they used to which puts more pressure on that unit. They also fucked up pushing Marinelli out.
is not only overrated but one more neck injury and he’s done. He can’t stay healthy. He has played 19 games the past two seasons and has a total of 2 tackles for loss.
Also - there’s a reason Cox slipped. There’s no guarantee he’s going to be good.

Cox slipped because teams weren’t sure how much bigger he will get and there aren’t many more misses trying to get Lavonte David than there are hits. Needs to get a lot better disengaging from blockers.
Individually they are good, but 2 of them have been on the field for a lot of their defensive issues. Their DL is not strong and there secondary is really not good
Vanderesch has had neck issues - that does not get better with more hits. This makes it easier to move on from him
Bigger question will be how many stay on the field
Does anyone have.a count on the number of their draft picks who came with red flags. Parsons is the big one, but I think I counted d 2 others who had to switch’s choo,s or miss time due to violations.
But Dallas declined Vander Esch's fifth-year option and, so it's been reported, Smith will need to take a massive pay cut to avoid being released on June 1. Those two are really questionable going into camp, and that explains why Jerrah et.al. cluster drafted LBs.
Dallas has no cap space whatsoever, so they'll be relying on a lot of rookies when their opponents have the ball. That should be fun.
They’ve got nothing in the secondary and their DL is averaged and this OL has questions as well. Not that worried about Dallas really. They should be worried about us.

Wow. Just a couple years ago those 2 lbs were the belles of the ball.

Dallas did decline Vander Esch, but Smith is in no danger of being cut.

the rest of the defense i am unimpressed with though and i would much rather a strong line or strong secondary than a strong LB core

Since when did BBI allow Jerry Jones to post on here?
