Should we be rooting for or against the Dolphins next year?

Milton : 5/2/2021 1:43 pm
Big Blue gets the Dolphins 3rd round pick. Eagles get the Dolphins 1st round pick.
Would you be happy getting the 65th pick in the draft if it meant the Eagles getting the 1st overall pick?
How disappointed would you be with the 95th overall if it meant the Eagles got the 31st overall?
Should we be worried enough about the Eagles that it affects our own rooting interests?
Do we need to consult the trade chart to know the ideal spot for the Miami draft picks?
Does it matter one iota whether we're rooting for or against the Dolphins?

Pretty sure the Gettleman turns the dolphins 3rd into an extra 2023 first and second.
Rooting for the Dolphins

Fuck the Eagles. I'd rather have a low third rounder than for the Eagles to have a high first rounder.

Dolphins aren’t going to suck next year.
Go Dolphins Go!

Unless they are playing the Giants.
I want the Eagles to have the #1 overall pick based on their record.

I don't care where the Dolphins finish — at least, not in terms of how it affects the picks they traded.

Bigger picture: The Pats are trying to get back on top but their division is no longer 6 guaranteed wins. The Bills are good, the Dophins are on the upswing. The Jets are going to have to go through rookie-QB struggles but may have a plan to return to competitiveness. That division is probably going to be a slugfest for the next 5 years.
Dolphins should be tied with 7 teams with a worse SOS

So their 1st is several spots behind their 3rd
Similar concern...

If Wentz plays 75% of the Colts offensive snaps that 2nd they gave Philly turns into a first. Obviously dont want to see anyone hurt, but, ummmm...if its that or the Eagles having 3 first rounders, I mean...right?

Just kidding, essentially theyre going to be in the same boat as us: either their QB pans out and they have premium picks to fill out the roster or they package those picks to snag a QB they like.
I’d rather have a worse 3rd rounder
Section331 : 5/2/2021 2:05 pm : link
than give Philly a good 1st round pick. Easy answer, go Fins!

I wouldnt say theyre going to suck but stop me when this sounds familiar: plenty of weapons, really good defense, but uneven QB play leaves the whole thing up in the air. Probably middle of the first round. That extra wild card could be a huge help.

root anyway you want but it won't matter. Barring a major catastrophe, the Dolphins will be winning their fair share of football games. They are building a very capable team in Miami on both sides of the ball. We have a far greater probability of yielding a very high pick from the Bears than Philly does from Miami.
I think there is a sweet spot just outside the top ten that's ideal

I get that Philly is a division rival, but we only play them twice a year, we have 15 other games in which the guy we select with that 3rd round pick will (may?) have an impact. The potential difference between whether he is the 75th pick or the 95th pick is significant.

Nah, I want them to have the #2 overall pick based on their record. I want the Bears to finish with the worst record so we get the #1 overall pick.
Depends on Tua

Seems like the Dolphins are a year ahead of the Jets in terms of a rebuild. Plus, like the Giants, this might be the defining year for the QB. I think they will have a very good year. Plus, we play them for the 17th game. Should be interesting especially if it’s the last game of the year but I don’t think that will definitely be the case.
