- Mostly good coach speak answers by Judge, won't say anything specifically about wanting Devonta going to the Eagles. We rehearsed every scenario, like everyone we picked, etc etc
- Judge did make an interesting comment about getting texts from other coaches saying they wanted Toney too
- Reiterated prior comments about how there were OL we liked in each round, but they either got taken ahead of where we picked or we had a higher grade on the guys we took at the time
- Carton and Evan ask about Jones, Judge toes company line about belief in him
- Saquon: Restrictions for players coming off injury not uncommon
- Question about Judge's first year - interesting comments about how weird the silence was for everyone - in tunnel before games, on field during injury timeouts where you could hear everything being said in the stadium
- "Do you have fun?" - the players are the fun part
- Philly tank job? - we're on to this year (good job channeling inner Belichick)
- re: expectations: We have internal expectations, but focus on being process-oriented
- Question about fans loving Judge - great answer: Like me or not, I'd rather be respected
- Relationship with Belichick/other coaches: It's a small league, you have guys you trust who you've worked with before. Judge said he refers to notes from coaches he's worked with before, also other talks to players he's coached for ideas
I tuned into Cartons and Roberts to hear some draft talk the other
day and that is an absolute brutal listen. Who the fuck is tuning into that garbage? It's so bad you almost sense that sports talk radio in NY is going to be ESPN only moving forward. It's a dying format but talk about accelerating your decline.
Carton and Roberts made the same comment many of us

As much as Francesa mailed it in his last couple of years, I really miss his takes and interviews. I especially miss when it was Mike and Chris. Their interviews were the best.
I can't stand carton and his interviews are horrible. He is always going for the sound bite and being a shock jock.

It's such a shame because Evan was much better with his previous partner
i hope he never loses the team because it could look ugly. unless this is just a media front he puts on and players really do love him. we'll see, but the media was ready to crush him after his first interview.
Those guys were almost all Jets except for a little on the Yankees. The Giants weren't mentioned once.
Is there another station that's an option for Giants fans? Just curious.
Sirius XM NFL channel is pretty good. Bob Papa has a morning show and talks Giants a bunch. Of course is a national channel so thy talk all the teams. But when they talk Giants it's real football from some excellent hosts like Bob Papa, Charlie Weis, Bill Polian, Pat Kirwan, David Dieh, Gil Brandt, Ed McCaffrey and so on..
You deserve a bonus and a raise for listening so closely. WFAN is a preset station on my car radio, and I NEVER listen to it anymore.
Haha thanks...I generally don’t listen to WFAN much anymore either, and agree with the crowd re: Carton, I just happened to wrap a work call right as it was starting and figured what the heck, I always enjoy a Coach Judge interview.
Really like the comment about getting texts from other coaches
on Toney. Watched him a lot in the SEC and think he is uber-talented but I really had him pegged as more of a second round guy because of less traditional WR sets.
But looks like he would have gone soon thereafter if NYG don't pick him up at #20.
So true. The banter with Roberts is now 90% ego driven drivel. Roberts is dragged into the dynamic and has to force talk about...sports! Carton lightly tosses off his time in the slammer: 'when I was away....' A repulsive excuse for a human being.
RE: I was in NJ this weekend and tried to listen to WFAN on Friday

Carton is an asshole and was always putting the Giants down in the mornings when he was on with Boomer. Making fun of Coughlin, Eli amongst others. Extremely unprofessional, on the Giants Flagship Station no less. There’s been a few decent broadcasters on the WFAN, but most are fans of other teams, most notably the Jets.
Describe everything you hate about a sports radio personality and that’s him. I even tuned in after Maggie and moose on the link I posted in the other thread after gentlemen’s interview ended and they recapped it. I couldn’t get through 5 minutes of his shit. Feel bad for Evan.

Ha ha, you are funny. I know you weren't trying to be funny and that makes it even funnier.
Mfsd, when you say that judge “toed the company line on Jones”
I gave Carton/Roberts a couple months, but boy is it terrible. Carton drags it down and the worries about him drowning Evan turned out to be true. I loved Beningo and Roberts. Carton just sucks
+1. I can't stand when I listened to WFAN in the morning and forgot, so when I get in the car in the afternoon and I hear Carton's voice, I cringe. That brief 30 seconds to a minute where I can't change the station in my car is torture.
I never heard Carton do a single interview where he wasn't trying
that Carton knew anything about sports. Just a smart ass jerk. It was one thing when he was on in the morning with a former all-star athlete. Infecting him into the afternoon is ridiculous.
eh. No one here is arguing that he isn't good for ratings. Well there might have been one comment. It seems most here just don't like him for a number of reasons. I couldn't care less if he does well. I think the WFAN will be around regardless (for the record I like WFAN still). I just think he's a terrible listen.

+1

Carton is still nails on a chalkboard to listen to, but pretty good interview by both of them
As much as Francesa mailed it in his last couple of years, I really miss his takes and interviews. I especially miss when it was Mike and Chris. Their interviews were the best.

Well, he's on the Michael Kay Show as we speak

Unfortunately all we would hear is talk about the Mets, Jets and Nets. There is no balance in his discussions.

Roberts would be better off solo. Dude knows his sports.

The times I've heard him he's discuss the Giants. I don't disagree that WFAN is Mets/Jets centric.
Ha ha, you are funny. I know you weren't trying to be funny and that makes it even funnier.
You’d have to ask Joe Judge that. He was asked about Jones, he said Jones is our guy and we believe in him.

same here.
I also find the non-stop gambling promos to be very annoying on FAN. I barely listen anymore.
He's a caricature of a piece of shit
