I am sitting in Gus's famous fried chicken in downtown Memphis.
Big game tonight and Knicks fans are out in Memphis.
Brutal 5 game stretch starts tonight.
Moving around so well too. Not exactly explosive like he was of course, but can really start, stop, start and get to the hoop. What a trade that's been.
And between the 5 techs in 30 seconds, Ja being a total baby
Grayson Allen being a piece of shit and Valanciunas being an unpleasant player to watch, I really enjoyed the Knicks taking care of business last night. Two franchises in completely different places right now.
RJ clapping when Ja got sent off was a lot of fun too.
when I look at the standings is that the Knicks are only 6 back of the Nets. Who, in there right mind, would have thought that could be the case this late in the season after the Nets completed the build of their all-star team.
I guess I shouldn't be that surprised when I consider the time it takes for a team with lots of shiny new pieces to gel. And by no means do I think the Knicks are better than the Nets.
The good news is the Heat have a pretty tough schedule. I bet we finish in the 5 seed and lose home court but face the Hawks, which is a good outcome all things considered.
One key hawks have 6 games left and Knicks have 7 and Knicks are effectively 2 games up on them, with a tough game against phoenix coming up..
We're only up one in the win column, so it's really only effectively one game up.
i mean why mess with whats working. But someone...anyone needs to start over payton. Sure its working now, but come playoff team we cant be falling behind every time he is in the game and then fighting back. I think starting burks makes sense. Let IQ and Rose continue off the bench together. It also adds more shooting to the starting lineup so the team cant just leave elf wide open all the time knowing he is going to brick the 3.

I missed that, but that makes me smile (RJ clapping).
Even at #6, I think we could do real well vs. the Bucks. We are up 3 on Celts with 7 to go. Miami and Boston two games against each other. Going to be a dog fight. Need at least one more win out west. Two would be great.

It was an epic meltdown for the Grizz. They played hard but completely fell apart in crunch time.

Next 4 are tough...Nuggets, Suns, Clippers, Lakers. Lakers have been in a rut, although they beat Denver last night. Then Spurs game at home is winnable, but Pop and his squad have had the Knicks number for years.
Knicks are red hot...poking around the NBA headlines, write-ups of other teams talk about having the Knicks coming up is a tough game on their schedule. Any given night, let's get it done!!
Clinching at least 5 seed is a huge goal, for potential playoff series win

Excellent, thank you!! RJ enjoying another great team win, while Ja getting sent to his room without supper:)

Hawks have a b2b against the Wiz. Westbrook is playing out of his tits and that team is the second-hottest in the East right now.
Doesn’t look as easy as it did two weeks ago, IMO.
The way washington is playing those are tough games.
Also Pacers are fighting for a playoff spot so can't look past them.
4-2 gets them to 40 wins- with loses to the Suns and washington.
3-4 gets the Knicks to 40 wins and we win the tie breaker.
Looks like all the noise about the Knicks and their bad luck in a 2 person draft was premature. Rj continues to trend up, while Ja has stalled a bit. Not that it means much, but even in fantasy leagues where they use efficiency metrics (RJs weakness early in the season), RJ has been more valuable than Morant - much more so in recent months.
RJ clapping while Ja got tossed was absolutely beautiful.
If i remember correctly but i think it came out that the Grizzlies were chirping a lot during the first game and Brooks looks like he is always talking..
Valanciunas is an ass, too. He was in the post early in the game, holding the ball over Taj's head in what I thought was a taunting way - I was kinda hoping Taj would put him on his ass.
You can tell this team enjoys frustrating their opponents. I remember Noah used to do that clapping thing with Thibs' Bulls whenever their opponents started whining.
Rose and was obviously 100% dead wrong, lol. He's clearly put in the work as he's deadly with that one-handed floater or whatever you want to call it. And if the 3 point shooting is a real thing going forward he's even more of a weapon. In his 29 games as Knick this season, he's already hit more than double the threes he had in 64 games with us in 16/17.
An experienced guard who can create down the stretch. When they had Payton out there at the end of games it was like they were sledding uphill some nights. Rose is just skilled and smart. He keeps his dribble and can score in a lot of different ways, and he's actually looking to shoot 3s. When he's good it really changes the offense down the stretch.
Didn't think this would happen but I'm so glad it did.
what PGs are available or potentially available this summer (Lowry, CP3, Ball, Schroeder, etc.), but bringing Rose back at a decent price might not be the worst idea in the world.
I 100% want Rose back this summer provided he's not wanting like max money, Haha. He's been invaluable to this team. You notice it from the jump when he's on the court.

I would be absolutely shocked if he is not on the Knicks
He will definitely be back if we pay him.
It might take 2 years at 30 million.
He is making 10 million now.
We need to draft a PG to be ready behind him.

his current deal is 2/15. Mid-level projects to be about $10 million this year. That might be the top of his market. Same with Burks. Where the luxury tax number ends up might have a big impact on free agency as well.

I think he was clapping because, for all intents and purposes, that iced the game for sure. There was still over a minute left and another Tech meant we go up 12....no way they would come back from that.
the Nets, Sixers or Bucks want to see Celtics, Heat or maybe the Wizards who are red hot?
The Heat seem to have taken a real step back from last year. Tatum can go off any night and Westbrook is playing amazing basketball right now. They both scare me more than Jimmy Butler right now.
then they’ll only need one win out west to come home no worse than tied for fourth. Phoenix will be playing second of back to back on the road and went to OT tonight versus shitty Cleveland.
If the Mavs somehow end up w/ a lottery pick then the Knicks don't get the pick... but I think that's wrong. I'm reading that the pick is unprotected. (Mavs aren't getting a lottery pick likely anyway but still)
RJ clapping when Ja got sent off was a lot of fun too.

Remind me why that draft turned out so badly.

Also that missed 5 footer by Ja at the buzzer of regulation at the Garden a few weeks back turned our whole season around.

He has no jumper and Knicks were packing the paint, knicks got physical with him and he folded

I don't disagree, but the Wizards turnaround in itself has been UFB.

Sprained ankle
Heat. Knicks lose the H2H tiebreaker against them.
Mavs are going to take the 6th anyways, so no hope for a higher draft pick. Way easier schedule than the Blazers.

2 against sixers and bucks.
2 against the Celtics.
If they go 3-3 that is 38 wins.
Knicks have 7 to play and have 37 wins currently.
