Greinke vs. German
Time to throw out the trash.
Altuve would eat dirt a couple times in 3 games

Altuve would eat dirt a couple times in 3 games
Could you imagine Earl Weaver trying to manage today?

Billy Martin was our manager. Or Showalter.

Haha one of my favorite vids is still this epic Earl Weaver rant
“You’re here for one reason...to fuck us!”

I’d take Buck back in a heartbeat right now.
I was thinking the same thing.
Gio
Yeah, got some butterflies going...
3-1.
He wasn't swung at ball three and rolled over on an outside pitch..
Brush back, slider away, two seamer inside and back to it...
No, no bean balls. Just K his ass. I don't want bean balls at Judge or Stanton.
Me too...they did get lucky last year with no fans. But NY fans have long memories. Ranger fans are still chanting Potvin sucks, 40 years later

At least behind him

They’d warn both dugouts. They wouldn’t get a chance.
For a guy with good stuff, he just makes too many mistakes.
I'm so shocked that you are one of the Buck Showalter cultists! Never would have guessed.
In 20 years as a major league manager, Buck Showalter has guided teams to five playoff appearances, one postseason series win, and precisely zero World Series appearances. The myth that he's some ace manager is laughable.
He keeps shaking off Higgy....

Buck got another chance to manage the Yankees.

Greg, I’m with you. I don’t get it.
Joe Torre was one of the worst managers of my lifetime. He managed the Mets Braves and Cardinals for 14 years before the Yankees. He had a below .500 record and didn't win a single playoff game. With the Yankees he made the playoffs every year for 12 straight years and went to 6 WS and won 4. Must have been the water in NY or maybe the HOF and all star players and big payroll?
Give me Buck over Boone and Cashman all day every day.
Yup ugly all around
Looks like he got kicked...
Wish Torres would do so also...
He is too tall and the distance too far.
He needs someone behind him so they don't pitch around him.
Voit must be close - mid May?

a terrible pitch. It is like he does not see the low away pitch well...

Needs to go with it like he did when he first came up. Like what Stanton just did.

protection for Judge now.

Saw somewhere he’s playing rehab games
I also think getting a lefty catcher like Narvaez would be a solid move.
Yeah, saw that. Well timed.
today is May the 4th (be with you)
But got it done...
One down, two to go
Oh. And. Fuck Altuve!
The 'bleacher creatures' had some great signs out there.
That was a bizarre play at the plate, three runs scored
on a weak groundball. Hope Odor is okay, he has helped them
with some key hits. German not at his best, but didn't
cough up the lead, solo homers won't kill you.

If Joe Torre was one of the worst managers in your lifetime, your posts make much more sense.
Like almost all takes by you - it is bereft of sports acumen.

RE: German - that would have been a decent start from anybody's #5 starter. German has talent. He seems to lose focus or his control or both. I would have thought he would be better, but I guess inconsistency is why some pitchers are #4s or #5. With this staff - Cole and Kluber - he can learn how to pitch. I still think German can be a #3 quality pitcher.
Sometimes I really scratch my head about what I read on this site.

I really don't consider German a #5 starter, he has better stuff than Taillon or Monty. I don't think it's about focus
with him, he just throws too many good strikes for the hitters, meaning missing location in the zone. He is always going to let up his share of gopher balls, that's been his history. He had two really good starts prior to last night.
At least, he didn't cough up the lead,as I mentioned above.
“Our goal was to get the play right, and that’s exactly what we did."
- Umpire Angel Hernandez after awarding the Royals 4 outs in the 3rd inning last night.
