The thread by Eric about Golladay caused an idea to pop into my head.
4 wide, Golladay and Slayton outside and Ross with Tony on either side in slot. Barkley in backfield. Fake handoff up the gut to Barkley and hand off to Ross on reverse with another quick handoff to Tony running opposite reverse.
Could even have Tony keep OR throw. Wild and stupid, i know.
What fun ideas can you all come up with?
RB-Barkley
RB-Toney
TE-Engram
TE-Rudoph
WR-Golladay
I would fake counter to Barkely to the right, fake screen pass to Toney on the left, and then screen to Engram down the middle of the field, get 25 yards.
Golladay forces double coverage over the top, the screen passes to left and right force the defenders to run to the sidelines, and it should be an easy pitch and catch to Engram, who despite his faults, is still the most explosive athlete at the position (maybe behind Pitts now)

You lost me at "easy pitch and catch to Engram"
Right now the Giants have the ability to line up in a number of different formations and groupings.
Heck, the Giants could even go with Toney in the Backfield, KG, DS, JR at WR and EE at TE and really push people down the field PLUS- still have the threat of a possible run.
DJ should get many opportunities for scrambles, runs and fakes just by the fact that teams cannot just isolate the backfield as the Giants have MULTIPLE threats outside and in the slot.
I want to see the Giants use Kyle Rudolph a lot on 2nd and 3rd downs with under 5 yards needed and a ton in the redzone.
I am VERY excited to see the growth of this team- ala 1984 and 2005!
Two TEs. One RB. Two WRs. 5 fat guys along the OL. One QB.
You will find snaps for all the WRs. I want 2 TEs early and often.
LOL
Nice
You had me until "Engram blocking".
Quote:
into Gun Bunch formation with Toney behind Golloday & Engram. the motion is going to tell me the defense. If they are playing zone, I am throwing the screen to Toney with Engram and Golloday blocking. If they press to stop it, I am throwing a go to Golloday, if the safeties are deep, I audible to up the gut with Barkely.

Engram fumbles and it ends up as a scoop and score.
... Just kidding.
We had that play in our book. The back shoulder fade where the receiver reaches over the hood of the chevy to make the catch was unstoppable.
Toney then plays QB and throws to Jones who isn't covered because who covers a QB without a ball!!
Jones steps out of bounds 15 yards down the field
First time option right pitch to SB.
Same but give to Toney on the sweep left.
Again but SB and Toney switch positions and Toney goes with DJ and has a green light to get the pitch and pass to Rudolph or KG who line up right (Rudolph block and release to a drag route, KG runs Sluggo).
Again but KG cracks the DE and DJ keeps it and SB blocks out on the CB on an RPO.
Again but DJ just pulls up and throws to Shep or EE coming across. Same but Toney runs a whip route from his jet across the middle and DJ hits him.
Again but...

Creative, i'll give you that.
The Giants did run 4 verticals last year, and that would have a little more juice with Barkley back plus the new additions at receiver.
