I feel like most would be against it, but curious if he came cheap why we wouldn't have interest in giving Vernon a look? Still relatively young, had 9 sacks in 14 games last year, currently still a free agent.
Was because of multi year deals. We have limited cap space now so unless we are giving him a multi year deal it isn't happening. Any disposable cap space will almost definitely be used for a vet OL or vet RB.
We have like 10 cost controlled edge players on the roster right now (including 2 drafted rookies)...no point in bringing in another body.. If you have vet minimum $ to spend bring in some OL competition for camp.
We just drafted 2 last weekend. We still don’t know about Carter or Ximines but their names came up over the last 2 weeks with Gettlemen and Judge so I think they are expected back. Ryan Anderson and Odenyingbo are 1 year vets and you have Cam Brown, Carter Coughlin and Nick Lalos who all showed some ability.
Vernon is not needed.
If the Giants are for it then I would be excited by it
I would rather see the Giants sign Ryan Kerrigan. I would prefer to see them just give the young kids a shot first and if none of them look fully ready then I would look to Kerrigan.
Fork stuck in his back. Glad he's no longer a Giant. Buh bye.
It's really not. He just had one of his most productive seasons. This is definitely one of those instances where it's clear that some Giants fans have no idea what's going on around the league.
I agree that he's probably beyond our spending power, but he's a good value out there for someone. I'd gladly cut ties with Carter and Ximines to afford him, if we realistically could (I don't thing we can, and wouldn't leverage future cap space to do it).

If he was affordable, I’d be ok with it, at least situationally..His problem here was injury more than anything else, imv
Let’s keep bringing in younger, healthier guys on the rise in their career
If we're keeping Ximines and Carter instead of Vernon, the only thing we can say is that they're younger. Definitely not healthier.
I'd rather give the reps to Ojulari and Smith than waste a spot on Vernon. Carter and X are going to be fighting for their Giants lives in training camp, and Carter may well end up on IR again to start the season.
OV has been. He's still a very productive player. He'll probably command more than the Giants would want to pay, and I would guess they would prefer to see what Ojulari and Elerson Smith do.
Vernon is not needed.
It's also not lost on me that Zeitler was not a free agent for long.
14 games played, in 5 games he recorded a sack. He also played across one of the best pass rushing ends in football.
I liked him a lot as a Giant but he was injured a lot. Now coming off a torn ACL.
