If there was a thread title which read “Rodgers to Eagles”....they have a lot of draft capital to give away next year although I guess it would be reduced by Aaron playing for them.
the Giants moonwalked into GB and smacked the shite out of Rodgers and the 15-1 Packers? The same year Rodgers was at the absolute height of his powers?
Fuck Philly. Let them get Rodgers.
I am not worried about offensive teams in the East

i'd love Rodgers on the Giants this very second. But I would also be pretty confident in saying Rodgers wouldn't be throwing for 5400 yards and 50 TDs here with NYG. He won't do that in Philly or anywhere else either, no matter the talent level around him.
Brady is the exception as usual. But most star QBs never duplicate the success they had at stop 1 with their new team. Kind of like that old car never responding when a new driver takes the wheel.
Thought Wentz was the next Brady/Manning. They envisioned multiple SBs and MVPs for the next decade. They have to be wringing their hands that Jalen Hurts can be even serviceable.
You continue to miss the point relative to Rodgers
I’d hate to see anything positive happen to the Eagles. Over the past 6 months they’ve leapfrogged the Cowboys on my “I hate list”
On the other, it’d be fantastic if they got Rogers and we still beat them twice. Specifically if Toney scored a TD and Robinson grabbed an INT or shut down Smith.
He’s a prima donna. If he doesn’t like the GB FO you think he’ll be good with Philly’s? The ensuing drama alone would be worth it.
Look, he’s a dick but a great QB. Would the Eagles be better with him? Yes. Would it bother me? Nope. They’d have to mortgage their future to get him. And while they’d be better, I don’t think he makes them substantially better to the point where they’re magically a contender. And even if they were it’s a very short term solution and the development of the rest of the team would suffer. Long term it’s a bad move and anything bad for them I’m in favor of.
It's bad enough having to watch DeVonta Smith on the Eagles.
Rodgers is still a fantastic QB. That Eagles' team is a lot better than they are getting credit for. They have a good OL, Miles Sanders, and now with a credible threat putside joining Goedert and Raegor, they have some weapons.
They're secondary is exploitable but that defensive front has always given the Giants a lot of trouble.
The one thing that will hold them back is Hurts, who I don't think is very good.

Why, because neither team has Marques Valdez Scantling? Peyton had no problem elevating Denver’s offense immensely, and Rodgers is just as good or better at the same age, minus the neck fusion.
The hate has clouded so much on these threads. Him going to the Eagles would fucking suck ass.
I’d strongly consider an aggressive offer. But, I’m not mortgaging all future assets for Rodgers.
And pre legal issues, I’m not doing it for Watson. As great as he is, the Texans went 4-12 and with or without Watson, that situation is very bleak.
Cowherd suggested the Giants trade a 1, 3 & Sterling Shepard. No way that is nearly enough, but I’d do that in a second. 4 first round picks & Saquon though, no way I’m doing that.
Suck because eagle fans would immediately consider them contenders, but other than that, they would have to probably give up a good amount of their draft capital for a qb on the backend of his career, which I would be fine with.
Used to Rodge as a giant, because he would probably make a major difference. I certainly wouldn't see the Giants as contenders, but possibly a dangerous team.

Huh? Aaron Rodgers as our QB doesn't make us a contender? How is that even possible?
We likely have 3 or 4 more wins with him at QB last year and that was without Barkley, Golladay, Toney, Rudolph...
Not an AR fan, but respect him. I wouldn't care if he went to the iggles, because they would have to give up every bit of talent (D. Smith?) and/or every future draft pick. I don't think AR would be very effective there with no talent around him...hasn't that been one contributing problem in Green Bay?

Players fall off of cliffs quickly and sometimes without much warning. He is advanced in age for a player, even qb. You certainly understand my point.
Even with Rodgers from last year, the NFL is hardly simple where you just can add X player and be a contender.
for certain players it is though. They aren't many but Rodgers is absolutely one of them. Why wouldn't 2020 Rodgers have us in the playoffs with that defense? Why wouldn't we be heavy division favorites in 2021 with Rodgers among the other additions?
If you think Daniel Jones cost us 2 wins last year which would have resulted in the playoffs (like I do), then its pretty conservative to think we win 3-4 more games with Rodgers.

Uconn, we have a different view on what a contender is. I view contenders as a team likely to be in the final four. I don't think the Giants were likely to be a final four team last year with Rodgers.
I could be more easily persuaded about this year though with all of the additions assuming they play out as expected.
they Bucs would be the clear cut #1 and then up for grabs, IMO. The Saints, Seahawks, Rams and Giants would be in that next tier.
So yeah even last year we'd be in the mix and I'd like to think with everything that happened this offseason + Barkley's return, we'd be neck and next with the Bucs as favorites in the NFC.
I think you are severely discounting what Rodgers brings to the table. Check out his career scoring/turnover ratio, Judge would be like a kid in a candy store.
Aaron Rodgers to Miami would instantly make them serious Super Bowl contenders. But I just don't see the Packers having any interest in Tua coming to them, so it would have to be some kind of three team trade.
New Orleans would be another interesting destination.
I may be underestimating what Rodgers brings, just as you may be overestimating what he brings. I don't think it is outlandish to claim the Giants of last year would be a contender even if I don't agree. Just like I don't consider my opinion of the Giants likely not being a contender last year with Rodgers outlandish.
forget the scoring (which would still be upper tier) and look at turnovers only. He threw 5 Ints and lost a 2 fumbles, so 7 total turnovers in 16 games. Lets add in 50% just for discussions sake and now he's at 11/12.
Lets now take away 50% of his scoring and now he's at 25/26 total TD's.
Jones/McCoy achieved 13 total TD's and 17 turnovers.
I'm handicapping Rodgers by 50% and I still think he'd make us an 8/9 win team in 2020. Imagine what 40+ Td's would do.

Uconn, you're not being unreasonable. I just don't agree, I don't think it is that simple.
i'm not being combative. I'm just trying to paint this in a different light. If Daniel Jones had 20 TD's last year and limited turnovers to 10/11 - we'd be in the playoffs. If you are going to throw the league MVP on top of that i'm going to consider that a big enough multiplier where we'd be able to compete weekly with the best teams in football and win some of them.
You brought up Brady before - I don't think he's be as effective on the Giants as Rodgers would. I think we'd see the biggest impact from Mahomes, Rodgers and then Wilson.

Uconn, I didn't mean to come off as I thought you were being combative because I didn't think that. I was wanting to express that I understood your argument and wanted to let you know.
As for your last paragraph, I don't recall brining up Brady, nevertheless, I agree with it overall. All of those Qb's you listed have a very good ability to make plays outside the pocket which would be crucial for a giants team with leaky pass pro.
Fuck Philly. Let them get Rodgers.

AMEN!

Can't stand Rodgers - check
...I'd be cool as a cucumber..it's a match made in heaven for me.
From a football perspective, it's not like the Eagles area great roster that's a QB away ala tampa bay...
They'd be dumb as fuck to trade away those first rounders in a loaded draft for a qb on the back 9 of his career. I hope they do it.
He'd be 39 going on 42 by the 3rd game..
So....what?

And the additional upside to that is maybe he would say we should fire our GM too...
Lol. Coming from the guy that has “balls” in his handle.
Funny part is if by some odd chance he does go to Philly the responses on this thread would be very different bobbyballs.

No...just no.

If they fix that problem it's bad news.

I would much prefer that he become an Eagle.
