Dave Gettleman said on NFL Network that the two players they were looking at when they traded down were Kadarius Toney & LB Jamin Davis who Washington took at 19.
but I think they made the right choice given how anemic our offense was last year. Toney can do things that a lot of players can’t in terms of his tackle breaking ability and general quickness. He’s going to be a nice safety valve for Jones with big play potential.
1 year wonder but big time athlete who would have greatly improved the speed on D. Would have been a very interesting pick. At 234 pounds he matched or bettered most of the workout numbers of top LB's from recent years. His vertical jump and 10 second split on the 40 were actually better than Simmons last year at basically the same height/weight/arm length (though it was pro day vs. combine).
Not me. Like him, but not a fervent supporter. I really like Surrat as sleeper and was big Jaelen Phillips guy as far as guys that didn't get discussed to death here. Not surprised Dolphins nabbed him before us (not even sure he was on our board)
I was as well if you read my mock draft. Never really thought he'd be in the conversation for the Giants given their draft position coming into the draft, and also felt like he was a sure-fire first rounder.
Yeah, they said the same thing about Montez Sweat too.
Playing behind that DL, this guy might be a monster. They're quietly putting things together for WTF now that Snyder - at least for now - isn't involving himself in personnel.
I liked Davis and MadPlaid took him at 42 for Giants in Mock Draft
That is correct. What I read online about Davis intrigued me. Playing alongside Martinez, I felt Davis would be terrific. Plus, he could be moved to rushing the QB on passing downs. Nice. I was happy I got him in the mock draft at 42. It crossed my mind that the Giants could select him at 20 when they traded down. That would have been a trip.
I was not pleased Jamin Davis was selected by the former skins.
Davis, Sweat and Young will make WFT's front seven among the best in the league. Their quarterback situation appears to be the only real weakness now on their roster. Have to hope that Fitztragic is showing up on offense. Praying Aaron Rodgers is only interested in western teams as I think WFT may be the best win/win landing spot for him...
Davis and Toney were the two prospects Gettleman was targeting, it doesn't say which he preferred if both were available. I wouldn't assume it was Davis.
He could’ve been bullshitting but my guess is that guy might be a pain in the Giants ass for a long time.
He did kill it - 42" vertical; 4.37 40.
