but always think it's a good sign when a player gets a little emotional after they get picked
I wonder if D. Smith got a little emotional (in a different, not so good way) after he was picked by the eagles. Sure looked that way. Feel sorry for him, but happy we got Toney and the picks!
For this season. Plus the Giants have set themselves up for the 2022 draft. This has Joe Judge written all over it, the organization is now being ru by a young forward thinking intelligent man, who surrounds himself with good people who have connections all over the league and college. A lot of credit to Gettleman for working well with Judge and Mara for bringing in Judge. This is the most excitement since the earlier years with Coughlin and Eli.

Hopefully he has more then 2 guys with computers like gettleman had.
and I really don't understand the criticism that he also aspires to do hip hop/rap. If he had announced that he enjoys playing Chopin on the piano or played the cello everyone would be over the moon for the kid.
As a music teacher, this relic of the past where certain types of music are privileged over others needs to stop. It's not the MUSIC itself that is valuable, it's MAKING music that valuable. The kid has multiple talents, that should be celebrated by everyone!
Personally, I think his passion for music is a positive and not a negative. I'd much rather have him working in his home studio on ProTools late on a Friday night than about 1000 other things that he could do.

When I found out he was a rapper pre-draft, I pulled up some of his music. I am a hip hop fan, but hearing some of his lyrics turned me off. It may be a generational thing, but one of his hooks had something about choosing money over b&@$es. That soured me on him especially seeing that he appears to have a great relationship with his parents. But again it may be that I’m an old head now 😂
if I judged Eminem off of his lyrics I'd think he's going to go out and kill his mother.
Seems like he has fun rapping, and like all the quote said about him said, he's not really a partier. He's working-out/practicing, rapping, or playing video games.

Generational thing? Money over bitches has been a consistent refrain in hip hop for 30 years

Ok, first a disclaimer, I personally cannot stand hip hop/rap, but it doesn't bother me at all that that is his taste in music, and I don't think that's what bothers others. It's that he has cut alblums and some think that he may be eying that as a career to the detriment of football. So no need to castigate others with different tastes, that's just not the issue. If he liked Chopin, not many would be thinking he's eyeing that as a career.
I love the hoodie look. I will never criticize someone that has a creative aspect of their career such as music. I love these videos ... these people are at the very, very top of a super competitive field. Few people achieve that level and I wish him and all the other non-NFCE draft picks the best.
"I'm ready to fly" is moving. Call me a sucker...

He has talked about his music. Its something he enjoys doing like some players enjoy fishing. It doesn't mean they want a career being a fisherman. It keeps him out of trouble. I don't see the issue
in the sports world is Damien Lillard and that hasn’t stopped him from being one of the leagues premier players.
It’s a non issue IMO and one that I trust Judge would get ahead of if it became a distraction. Can’t just be worried about every little things these guys do that isn’t football related.
he doesn't have Devonta Smith's polish, but he does have the same kind of special quickness and route running potential.
he doesn't have Waddle's special deep speed, but he does have the same kind of toughness/explosiveness gaining YAC.
and most importantly he had a similar level of dominating performances in big SEC games (especially his games vs. Bama and LSU). He perhaps even has a little bit more versatility than both, although Devonta Smith proved he can do just about anything at the WR position he may not have quite as much ST/RB ability as Waddle/Toney.

BBB: dude you gotta stop reading social justice blogs. If you had two daughters and one became a stripper and the other s ballerina would you say they are both equally dancers and you were equally not worried about either? Of course. Strip Cubs are run by the mob
And dancers often get caught in drugs and other criminal activities. Same with
The world of rap.

I get the analogy you are trying to make here, but I don’t think it’s accurate. Lots of total straight edge ass rappers now. The world of rap is large and a lot of these guys are sipping on lean popping pills all day. That’s more a choice he can make and I’m sure there’s been lots of digging in there. Where as almost all strip clubs are sleazy operations and they are all patroned by a few assholes anyone would want any woman in their life around.

I feel the same way. It visibly shows us how much they care. I’m sure all of them do but to see the raw emotion gives me goosebumps every time.
