Seems that way - but why not just say its an internal thing and they wont discuss it - why make up this Rat vs Raccoon thing?
But from other vantage points it may be that Lindor popped Jeff McNeil down the tunnel
Lindor's silly answer is annoying. Why not just say they are both competitive and emotions got the best of them and their ready to go win more games...
They clearly got in a scuffle. If people think they are lying or this explanation is literal or its even an excuse, then... well... I dont know what to tell them.
It's tongue and cheek and they were having fun with it. They dont owe the media an explanation about anything.
This will bring the team together and I love that the players were able to handle it themselves on the field.
Would have absolutely been no satisfaction for media jackals if they’d said “we had a disagreement and it’s staying in house”. Would have been relentless follow ups for specifics.
Same media that was insinuating early this week that Alonso got Davis fired with trying to lighten the mood with Donnie Stevenson,
So, I’m fine with the silly cover story given this press mob. Team performed after the skirmish, and Lindor was hyping up McNeil in bottom 9 before his AB.
Mets beats were absolutely whiney and entitled on post game. Giv8ng them nothing but absurdity seems fine to me.
the record noted tension between Lindor and McNeil recently. McNeil hasn't taken to "advice" from Lindor in the field after a few playable balls have become an issue (up the middle). Both are known as good dudes. Zero concern internally but the belief is Lindor was in the right to make his suggestions (SS's commonly do this with their 2b).

The rat/raccoon story is funny....I think that's just how this team rolls. Whatever it was, it sure got Lindor fired up.
So when is Luis G coming off the IL, and when does McNeil start taking reps in LF ??
Guillorme not coming back for a couple of more weeks at minimum.
