Hunter is the opener (hate it) likely followed by Luchessi.
Good news, deGrom is starting tomorrow.
Bad news, Carrasco clearly had a setback with his hamstring and they are now " backing off" on a return date.
Syndergaard and Lugo starting rehab assignments soon.
No update on Nimmo, Davis, or LG.
LGFM!
So if they sit Diaz, you should have him.
With a day off Monday you probably also have Familia and May tomorrow (unless either throws 2+ innings today).
You'd probably have 1 or 2 of Barnes/Castro/Loup.
And if things go south Hunter/Luchesi/Hildenberger/Barnes just need to eat as many as possible to go into tomorrow near full strength.
Conforto and Alonso are hitting now and at least McNeil is back to league average. They need more help though.
Francisco Lindor’s 2nd career hr for the Mets.
He passed (among others) Bartolo Colon on the club’s all-time home run list

For a hamstring? I seriously doubt it. But he clearly pushed it and tweaked something again IMO.
He's fine.

lindor seems to be coming out of the funk slowly. 3 for his last 6 with 4 walks
Smith needs a day off tomorrow. He looks absolutely lost right now.
And I think his defense is about the same as McCanns
May I would assume is the closer tonight wit Castro, Loup available for the 7th and 8th?
Diaz never goes 3 in a row, and we did use nearly the whole pen last night.
Hope we can get a couple of more runs.
bases loaded thanks to 2 infield singles and short bloop and gets out of it (twice) after throwing almost 40 pitches mostly high leverage through the middle of their order.
Just an overall nice win for 4 in a row.
Really hoping the offense busts out for Jake tomorrow for the sweep before the off day !
Yeah, you are right. I was just way too into it tonight, lol.
Let's keep the streak going!

Amen. Hoping to get off work and see Harvey on Wednesday. That will be a game I don’t want to miss!
I’m sure I called for the ax. Mostly that was me being over-emotional (shocker, I know) during two weeks of slogging baseball. I’m sure that was more attributable to 8 postponements in the first 20 scheduled games than to anything Rojas has or hasn’t done.
That being said, I really haven’t seen anything I particularly like about Rojas (except when he exploited the extra innings rule to get Lindor as the free runner instead of Alonso, I believe - that was clever).
My main two gripes about the coaching has 1) been how lost the batters looked with RISP, especially with none or one out over the last year and one month and 2) rojas’ bullpen management.
I think he is way too slow to get people up when relievers come in w/o good stuff and does things that put the team in bad position- like using Diaz b2b with a 4 run lead Sunday night which put the pen into a hole heading into St Louis.
So, to summarize, I thought this team was disappointing as hell last year. They just had no plan at the plate overall, it felt like to me. So, I’ve yet to really see anything that I really like about Rojas in-game. I think this team is very talented and that they were just not playing well last year and then so far this year had struggled until this week.
I don’t know how much a hitting coach matters, but it really seems like the Mets have been much more of a bunch of grinders at the plate the last 4 days and that is great to see, as was the base running aggression tonight.
Hopefully he’s earned a giant extension by the end of this year. Because, I have believed in the talent of this team - even without Lugo, Thor and Carrasco since day 1.
Jake will have an extra day of rest even in a 4 man rotation. Stroman Tuesday, Walker Wednesday and the Peterson Friday and Jake back on Saturday.
Hunter seems like a total character. Really seems to like McCann a LOT. That’s cool to hear.
Phils already playing their 8th game against Atlanta and is set to move to 6-2 against the Braves.
He has also been pushing the right buttons in the pen. Taking Diaz out in Philly for Familia. A lot of mangers would have stuck with their closer
Everything always looks better when you are winning but maybe he grows into the job

Not so fast! Braves load the bases on a walk and a sung,e and Contreras clears em with a double. Braves tie it up. Now man on second 0 outs. Chance to vault back into a tie for first. Nice response to their awful top 11.

Hey, I sure hope,so.. hope he retires in 25 years as a NY sports icon!
Just read a funny quote from him postgame:
Baseball is a lot of fun when the pen and/or bench are producing - lots of weirdos and characters tend to be found in those groups.
Watched the highlights on MLB.com (8.5 innings of fun in 7.5 minutes).
More good defensive plays in one game than we used to see in a week!! Some scout once said Alonzo's D was 'unplayable' at 1B -- that scout should turn in his notebook. Pillar can play CF on my team any day of the week.
I've griped about the manager in the past, but this is the hand we've been dealt...let's play it out. Last night's lineup may be as good as it gets for the next 2 weeks.
Funny that it took a runaway rodent (or a miscue in the middle infield) to get this thing going.
