5 games left, Here we go!!!
tough match up on National TV.
Knicks need a good game not necessarily win but not the roller coaster games they have been playing.
consistent effort.
Quickley and Burks are doubtful today and it sounds like they won't play.
Heat vs Celts also today.
Can they both lose?

According to Ian Begley of SNY, Dennis Schroder, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Lowry are all on the Knicks' "radar for the offseason."
So he's basically nygiants16 but with a media job instead of a Giant's message board
But seriously, I prefer Lowry or a draft pick to augment the point.

Am I missing something one of the last players I would want on my team from a superstar prospective
I like Brown, as a person & think he's damn good. That sucks for Boston.

I wouldn't want him on the Knicks. I'll leave it @ that. He's gotta be a roller coaster player to root for.
As a transplant to the South, I feel everywhere in 'local' to ATL.

and only just realized about a month ago we get the Atlanta sports teams "locally" lol. Been enjoying watching and rooting against the Hawks.

Yup exactly that's what I've realized. ATL is 4 hours away from here though it's so funny they consider it local to the point of blackouts and such but whatever I guess that's just because I grew up in the northeast where we have like 11 major sports teams or something haha. In Nashville there's 2 and they're relatively new so I can see why there would be love for ATL sports embedded here
Lived up in Portland, ME for a year after graduation. Tommy Heinsohn will never be surpassed in my book as a homer. As Bill Simmons once wrote, Heinsohn was as impartial about the Cs as Ron Goldman is on the topic of OJ Simpson.

I wouldn't want him, as I think there's a certain ceiling with Westbrook on your team. I feel like he's only going to take a team so far, and with other great players on his team I feel the team actually ends up being LESSER than the sum of its parts (if that makes sense).
...That said, as a Knick fan, if I need a short-handed shitty team with only once superstar to beat the Hawks, there are very few superstars other than Westbrook I would pick to be that single guy (if THAT makes sense lol).

I get the triple-double numbers.

I don't think I've ever seen anything from him that would make me think he's a bad teammate or anything.
You don't have to love his game on the court, but I'm not sure why someone wouldn't want him on their team other than cost and fit. He definitely cares, gives great effort and prepares.

I'm personally referring to it in the context of cost and fit. If he wants to play for the Knicks for free then absolutely. But if he's going to tie up $40M per year for more than half a decade.... I just don't see him being the guy that's a piece to your team winning a title.
But I just see a lot of reasons why he just wouldn't quite be good enough to be the top top teams in a 7 game series. Even if he had a supporting cast I just see him do a lot of inefficient things that don't win playoff basketball-- he takes a lot of bad shots, doesn't have a good jumper to begin with, and he turns the ball over a lot.
Again even when he had a supporting cast-- the ball-hogging in OKC against the Warriors that led to the Thunder blowing a 3-1 lead -- you can't do that when you have Kevin Durant on your team. A lot of people say "well Durant was double-teamed the entire time and the coach wasn't creative enough to get Durant open"... well then Westbrook should've gotten the job done if he was essentially playing 4 on 3 basketball.
On a related note, after reading somewhere that some in the NBA were derisively calling the play in round the “Knicks Invitational”, I’m quite happy to see the Knicks giving the league the finger on their way to a top six finish. Ideally, 4 or 5 seed.
I guess we both spoke too soon haha

seroously lol
I hate Westbrook taking the final shot.
This is what takes away from all the good he does.
Heat toughest schedule needs to win the next 4 to get to 41, they play Boston, 76ers, Bucks, and Detroit.
Celtics 4 left win out 39 wins.
Right now first one to 41 gets the 4th / 5th seed
Best would be for Celtics to beat Miami tomorrow and ATL lose to Wash.
Knicks go 4-0 / 3-1 they are in the 4 vs. 5.
Any one know who gets the tie breaker for Heat vs Hawks ??

Hawks hold the tiebreaker over Heat, beat them 2-1 this season.
The 1st tiebreaker goes to the division leader (regardless of being in the same division-- if you are the only "division leader" of the 3 you win the tiebreak)... which would be the Hawks because they would finish 1st in their division over the Heat due to having the tiebreaker over the Heat.
Then obviously to break the tiebreak between us and the Heat, the Heat win that due to having the H2H over us.
So if all 3 teams finish tied in 4th, we end up w/ the 6 seed.
Ugh.

(and obviously Heat hold the 2-way tiebreak over us)
It would be nice for the celtics to lose and put even more distance on the 7th seed, but i think best outcome would be Boston winning tonight, keeps everyone behind the Knicks still.
Of course if aknicks win tonight none of it matters
Everyone is reporting he will play tonight.
Not sure if he will have minutes reduced but he will play.

Then the Lakers are going to be fined for lying on their injury report
nygiants16 -- if I'm not mistaken, the ESPN injury report (if that's what you're looking at) carries over the previous game's status until the new game's official status is updated (which will be later today), but it will have a description in it that may be up to date. It can be very confusing-- I noticed it when I was looking at Burks' injury status last week and it said "out" but then in the description it said he was "probable"... I believe the "Out" is just the last time it was updated for game purposes. Just something I've noticed because I was always seeing contradicting statuses on there.
