Means comes off the no-hitter and faces Marcus Stroman as the streaking Mets seak 6 in a row.
Lineup :
McNeil 2B

Pillar lF
Villar 3B
McCann C
Almora CF
Stroman P
Dom rests against the LHP but I’d imagine we see him for the 12pm game tomorrow against Harvey.
lol. I’m hoping that’s it’s not a pulled hammy. That’d take him out a month or more.

That's what it looked like. We'll know more tomorrow.
There are four backups in the lineup, so that certainly doesn’t help.

Is just so bad again tonight. Jeeze

Fair point. But still, another game of no offense with capable backups. It’s getting a bit tiring.

No disagreement from me
It’s not a killer deal and I expect him to play better at some point. Just not a lot of options out there for the catching position.
That was our inning. Alonso has to be better than that. Just a game killer.

Nido is better than McCann. That is a ghost deal if I ever saw one.

The money is enough have to play him every day for the next 3 or 4 years. We could get the same production for a fraction of the cost. He hasn't even played well defensively. He can't play any worse than he already has so it if it doesn't get better it does become a killer deal.

So, you aren’t expecting McCann to improve? Saying that Nido is a better catcher is just a silly comment. I’ll chalk it up to frustration but in no world is Nido a better player. Nido is a horrific offensive player. I’m sure that McCann will turn things around.

I'm not expecting him to improve much. He has had 1 good year and 2 months. He was horrific in that AB just now. Nido has been better this year. Throw in the contract we gave him and it's a ghost deal like I mentioned. Hope he proves me wrong.
Glad I stayed with it all the way. Entertaining game.

They have been critical during this win streak, and filled in admirably with other guys out.

Lol, Nido has a whopping 5 hits over 21 plate appearances. Gimme a break. Small sample size doesn’t even cover it. Nido isn’t a good player and certainly isn’t better than McCann. But I do appreciate his 5 hits this season.
McCann is making $40 mil over 4 years. That’s not a ton of money. He was never going to be a huge offensive player and I know he’s sucked (like most of the team right now) but I believe he will get better.
It makes me happy that we have at least three different spellings of his name in the thread.
Keep stacking wins. Each win we get now is one less we’ll need in July and after when we’re healthy.

Two injuries tonight. So that should give us the win tomorrow.
