Mets going for 7th straight. We are running on fumes health wise with McNeil and Almora added to the pile. The Dark Knight returns. How will he be received? Game starts at 12:10. LFGM!
Would be really nice to add him to the 40 and DFA Tarpley or Zamora.
lol. Love that name for them. They have been key. Would be nice to get a two-game sweep with the injuries they have now. Hopefully Nimmo is at least back for Friday. DH this weekend at TB, so they need him. Can keep playing Pillar.
Would be nice to get a win today. Don’t wish Harvey any ill-will but hope we can knock him around a bit. He’s been OK, but his stuff is really hittable. Hopefully our 2-5 hitters can take him deep a few times.
100%. I was a little iffy on at last 1 of them but very thankful for the extra depth now. Almora too for that matter.

How you been ? I haven't seen you posting in a while. Did you catch that Allman-Betts Band concert down your way?? They played 'Shakedown Street' at our show here at the Firefly Distillery.
That was a great win vs the O's last night. Keep Mazieka warm on the bench this afternoon....In Case of Emergency, Break Glass.
Give Matt Harvey a warm welcome. Then score a few runs for Walker.
Give me guys like that any day.
Glad Mets fans showed Harvey some love.

Hey Named Later, I'm great. How you doing?
Unfortunately, after I started that Allman Betts thread I discovered the amphitheather was only selling minimum of 4 seats together bc of covid. I don't know 3 others locally that would want to go (most of my friends where I live now are younger, diff tastes..). Wife's not an Allman's fan, hated Widespread Panic show about 10 yrs ago (she's younger and doesn't like guitar jams).
I like to buy good seats (don't see great) and might've considered buying 2 tx, but not 3-4 at those $.
Sorry, prolly TMI.
Anywho, have great day! LFGM!
My biggest frustration with Alderson's first stint was how even the depth pickups never worked out (Mayberry, De Aza, Vargas etc). Between Pillar, Villar, Loup, Almora, Walker it looks like this year he made up for it.
+1 DRS, solid UZR/150 and he's passed the eye ball test.
btw ironically Nimmo's defensive numbers are the reverse (+2 OAA, 0 drs, negative uzr/150) - but he too has passed the eye ball test.

is -1 OAA in CF.

C'mon Eric, that's not "plus" in CF. Passable is more like it. 24 CF's are in the plus in terms of OAA, 37 are "not" in the negative.
Isn't Tarpley on the 40 man? No hesitation to lose him whatsoever
Quote:
Mets do not have any additional OF's or IF on their 40 man roster so should there be an injury to either I'm not sure what they do? Could we see... Wilfredo Tovar in Queens? (yes, he's back).

He is, and he's clearly the most obvious casualty. Looking at the Mets 40 man, Tarpley is likely a goner very soon. Any OF/IF needs will need a player removed and added to the 40. Fargas, Drury, Tovar etc. They also could release Betances (linked is the 40 man)

Yup, great to see indeed!
Dom was their best hitter last year IMO (not going to argue between him and Conforto). Getting him going is key. He was hot in spring training then they missed a lot of game time with the Nationals series. I think that really effected a lot of the bats early.
Some guys age well, that's a great start
I'd take him back when the DBacks are out of it. Think they will take Kilome for him?

Cabrera .290/.398/.486, +4 DRS at 3b...he's turning 36! What a career.

Career 192 homers (should hit 200), 90 steals (doubt he steals 10 more but anything is possible), 1723 hits (2000 very possible). That's a very nice career under the radar.

Considering Kilome cleared waivers I think his trade value is close to zero... well it technically IS zero
One of my off-season targets
"Not exactly an exciting option but what about Bryan Reynolds? Career 122 wRC+ against righties. +3 DRS career in CF, + defensive CO for his career https://fangraphs.com/players/bryan-reynolds/19326/stats?position=OF #Mets"
140 wRC+ this year! No indication he was actually available but he's good. I'm also happy to hear the Mets looked into Means, I do suspect that was Porter however.
