Cole vs. McHugh
They did that yesterday too. I agree it makes more sense to protect judge with Voit. Boonerism...

ha, yeah ok...anafuckinlickthis
Why would any pitcher throw a strike? This douche is calling pitches in batter's boxes strikes....
Embarrassing.
Counting this season, five more years.
Jasson Dominguez where are you...
You live close to Durham?

but was scratched with a stiff back LOL

You understand that if he farts wrong, he will be stopped. Anything that could possibly put any pressure on that arm means he is not throwing.

Sure. It's still annoying, though. When was the last time he pitched?

No big deal in the grand scheme of things, just curious
what they are going to get when he comes back.
He pitched about 12 innings in the last two years.

He's been throwing all along, since February? What do you mean?

In a game.

That he hasn't pitched in a while and him not being able to pitch now due to a stiff back is hilarious.
You quoted me first.

Yes, I quoted your silly comment. So your point is that a guy coming back from TJS is embarrassing because his back got stiff and they elected to have him sit a day?
Ok, got it.
i agree....he is awful
You add in a blind umpire who calls strikes 6 inches off the plate and this game is almost unwatchable .
MLB has a major problem on their hands with the deadball and Umps with strikes zone the size of the ocean .Unless you are a diehard fan who is going to sit through 3 hours of this night in and night out ?
Now the 3rd strike to Frazier was a strike, but iirc strike one was 4 inches outside. He has called strikes on pitches that were riding on the batter's box chalk line. He has called pitches over the zone and under the zone and none of them are called equally or consistently. A guy with that many mistakes and inconsistencies either has eye issues or maybe under the influence. The quick hook on Frazier leads me to believe Frazier may have said the no-no word, but that kind of anger is questionable and should be followed up on if Frazier did not say the word.
This is the worst umpire i have ever seen

One of the first two strikes was clearly a ball well outside. Ump is a joke.
Puts him in scoring position. Took an absolutely perfect throw to get him.
Stanton leads off the 9th
I'd agree, but Chapman pitches best from the start of the inning. But, damn, Cole is in the zone.
True
Going with Chappie isn't wrong but a new pitcher and you don't know what you get.
4th game in 5 days. Another reason why i would have let Cole finish this game
He often stays 96/97 to get his timing and then dials it up.
1-0 whewwww!
It's way early, but in a playoff series fuck openers or 4th starters. Cole needs to start 3x in a 7 game series.
Baseball - as a sport - has never been more boring. I just rifled thru the dvr in about 45 minutes.
I'm sitting here contemplating what Eva Lovia video to watch and Meredith appears with her complete utter Bullshit.

What was the corporate pap tonight? Who were they blowing?

Is Fucking terrible. I guess she's in a no win situation being a YES man, but her PG interviews are panty wastes. Just roll commercials if you're planning on this Bullshit.

She's just so boring and corporate. Even Cole was done and like, stfu. I'm so annoyed by her, Kay and some of the YES clowns. Add in the constant analytic Bullshit exit velo, numbers nerd shit and I'm almost out. It cuts into my enjoyment of the game like a knife.
Sorry to pull a Monty from Plainview. But that old dude ain't wrong.

I don't get that Post Game bull on MLB Extra Innings, so I am safe. Avoid it if it drives you mad.
Frazier must have called the ump a cocksucker.
Frazier must have called the ump a cocksucker.
He may have said something..without an obvious demonstrative disagreement, they don't normally toss guys that fast
I think the ump pulled the arguing balls/strikes card. Amazing when you suck at your job you are defensive when you are called out.
I must have seen him before, but I do not remember him standing out like last night. Also, Views from 314ft has the fangraphs printout and it actually shows a lot less crappy calls(Yankees graph) then the on screen box showed. I think he was near about 12 obviously bad calls and if I count right it shows about 7. Hell he had two in DJLM's 1st at bat.
Not a good night for Mr. Miller, but a great night for
Mr. Cole. That's why you pay him the big bucks, for performances like last night. He could have used some more offensive support, but they squeezed out a victory.
Now sweep these guys in that dump of a building!
first major league victory against the Sawx. It's been a long
road for the young man.
That's pretty nuts. Wonder how that compares to the rest of the league.
Good question. deGrom's done it twice this year, and Corbin Burnes, who hasn't issued a walk yet, has done it 3 times.
