Awesome we play the bears! We can help ourselves x2 if we win that game.
No kidding, they better play their ass off in that game. If Jones is on the hot seat at that point he’ll probably throw for 500 yards and 8 TD’s because if we are on our way to a top 10 pick he’ll know we are packaging those two firsts and other picks to move up and take another QB.
RE: RE: RE: We haven't opened against the Broncos...
I know. I clearly remember coming into work tired and angry the next morning over the egg the Giants laid in Denver that Monday night game (10-24 I think?) and obviously that becoming much much less important as the next day went on
When was the last time we opened against the Raiders? Have we ever?
Noting a run of warm weather games in Nov, plus Dallas indoors.
play a Monday night game after a bye week? Makes no sense at all. In fact they should make the bye week after a Monday night game. And the Thursday game after the bye.
things can change drastically year to year, but they’re going to have to really fight for the playoffs looking at that schedule. Two games against Super Bowl teams. Nothing looks like it’ll be easy, but I may just be shell shocked from the last few years still.
Even if I take my blue colored glasses off. This is a team with so many weapons and what should be a reasonably good defense. We think the coaching staff is a keeper. The only real question marks lie with the OL, QB and RB.
I also posted all of Joe Judge's quotes about the schedule on the front page...
New York Giants 2021 Schedule Released - ( New Window )
.
From his quotes:
The Giants play back-to-back road games on three occasions.
“What it (playing consecutive road games) ends up doing is it gives you a little bit of a flow
sometimes to how to get your team prepared,”
Judge said. “The team gets a feel for how that week of recovery is a little bit different
than it is with back-to-back home games.”
taking into consideration the Giants did improve somewhat (the OL still worries me a ton) and admitting to not having a firm enough grasp on how most of the other teams fared in the offseason. Just on paper, at this time, I can see this team winning anywhere from 9 to 11 games. That should be enough for the division, but a tad less impressive than it sounds given the 17th game this year (a dumb move).
RE: RE: Prepare to get bent over in New Orleans again
I'll be there to feel the pain. Can't help myself!
Yep! I have been to 4 Giants games in New Orleans and we lost all 4, including the infamous Joe Horn cell phone game.
I was at the Joe Horn cell phone game as well. Only good thing is all the fans left early. Got to see most of the second half in near front row seats.
Me too! Was there with 3 Saints fans/good friends, in a skybox owned by a local (Metarie) restaurant family. Great food, all the drinks you could want and one hell of an ass-kicking that I took like a man, there in my blue #81 Toomer jersey!
The last pre-season game counts in the standings, except for the four teams playing division opponents in week one. For them, it’s imperative that all four achieve a tie.
the short end of the stick repeatedly is back-to-back home games or even having 3 in a row.
If you look at them vs, Dallas, over the last 3 years the Giants have only had 2 times where they have had back to back home games. You have go all the way back to 2016 to find a time when they had 3 straight home games. But the Cowboys have had 5 times in the last 2 years with back to back home games and two with 3 straight.
The Eagles have the same as us this season. One instance of back to back home games
Thats pretty sweet
And the next day the world changed forever.

Just as there will be a pre-COVID world and a post-COVID world. It will be good to get out of COVID world.

11-5 is very likely not possible because there are 17 games... ;)

I would like to think those warm weather games favor the new high-powered Giants offense.
A guy can dream, can't he?

They changed it. It's now after week 4.
??
2016, started 2-0 that season.
I'll be there to feel the pain. Can't help myself!
I've had to write the W's in next to the Washington games for years. Even more automatic now.
For Joe Judge and his team.

The OL disappoints.
Jones does not take a step forward or gets hurt.
Barkley has an injury plagued season.

plus Miami in early December, it could be warm there still.
They have two tough Monday nighters on the road, in K.C. and also in Tampa.

and you wonder why the Giants have a crappy Monday night record

been after week 4 for several years, its just hardly used until week 10 or 11 usually
Overall, a tough schedule. 3 separate times they have back to back road games, but only once do they have back to back home games.
