sitting in the end zone right in back of the defense. Right before the snap I noticed the Martin move over in his stance. It was a great plan from a great player.
Eric - post the clip of Denver at Giants, when Eli
from my childhood. Big George was also the man who sacked Elway for the safety in the SB. He accounted for 8 points himself on D against the Broncos that year. I love how he thought about lateraling to LT and instead just kept rumbling, holding the ball like a loaf of bread (it looked so small in his hands). I love LTs tackle of him in the end zone. That was fun. It was also great watching him swat Elway, who was not a small guy, aside.

I have a question about that game. Broncos tie the game up late, but Simms finds McConkey deep and gets the ball to around the 15 yard line. Then on the ensuing first down play, NBC pops up the graphic, "1st and Goal."
Was this a likely mistake by NBC? I don't recall a rule about not being able to get a first down once the ball is inside the 15 or 20.
And the Giants have sure been a thorn in the side of some all-time great QBs - Elway, Montana, Brady.
+1 he just had that old wise experience veteran look/air about him. Kind of on the quiet side. But, I bet that if anybody on that team needed advice or help with something (a personal problem?) - they would go to old George first and he would help them. I could never see George Martin refusing anyone help.
That is just the vibe I always got from him. 1 of my favorite Giants ever.
Only a 5 minute clip but, a nice tribute from 1 brother to another.
I don't see how Eli does not make the HOF? The only way it doesn't happen is if there are jealous sports writers out there who won't want to vote both Brothers in .... at least until some time passes.
In the best scenario - Eli might have to wait a while.

great to see the "mood in the room" on a few of these clips to give perspective to the events like bavaro dragging the 49ers and the packer game which at the time seemed more like a standard blowout.

Old 75 was greater than advertised!

Mine too. Always in the right place at right time...

George Martin was a great player. Athletic and aware.

A spin move tip pass to himself and then down the sidelines. Was the whole defense there helping him celebrate? You tell they loved that man.
