What can we expect from Minicamp?

HopePhil and Optimistic : 5/13/2021 1:06 pm
I’m excited it starts on Friday but don’t know what to expect.

Will rookies, udfas, tryout invitees and some second year players attend in person, or virtually?

Will the media be there to report “who looks good” or is it mostly interviews by phone or zoom like the recent press conferences?

Maybe some rehabbing players show up, Barkley, Carter and Ximenes?

What else are you hoping to hear about?

I hope this article is wrong, but it implies only 14 players.

This is more like rookie orientation than a minicamp.

The status of injured players would be welcome.
It's rookie camp.

Nothing really substantial. Just hope no one breaks a foot or tears a ligament.

And maybe, just maybe, a head coach that jumps in the mud.

All good stuff...
What to expect?

From everyone about everything, either positive or negative. Ojulari demonstrates any semblance of pass rush skills...we got a steal!!!...or Toney drops a pass...I KNEW we messed up that pick, I KNEW it!!! Dropping a pass in minicamp, obviously no hands whatsover. DG must go!!!

And so on and so on....
according to Judge It mostly takes the form

of an orientation with only a few individual drills

It's just part of the process of bringing the new guys up to speed.

I imagine that afterwards the roster will be somewhat set - and any tryouts that are signed will be announced
by the way

in the video linked on the thread link below. Judge outlines what he's expecting to accomplish at the mini camp quite clearly

It's basically the same for every team.. You're just trying to get the young guys acclimated.

From the coach's perspective, it's your first real chance to get your hands on the new toys so to speak. To create that initial dialogue and verbiage. It's also the time to lay out the expectations and understanding of the culture.
