are his love, but I thought he was the best Hockey announcer of his era. Doc Emrick probably the best recently. But listening to Marv do Rangers games on radio was fantastic.
When I was a kid and Marv was only doing Ranger and Knicks games on radio, he was one of the best ever. Over the years he's become a parody of himself, but, when he was young, he was tremendous.
be the voice of the Rangers for me. I remember listening to him on my transistor radio doing Rangers play-by-play in the early 70's. Nobody did hockey any better on radio. He did every game with the energy of a playoff game...

I grew up listening to:
“Giacomin winds it around the net, picked up by Park, feeds cross ice to Hadfield as the Rangers start out, Up the boards to Ratelle, across the Blue line to Gilbert, He breaks in on net, He shoots, He SCO-OORES !!!!!!
Uh, always time for the ol' in-out, love.
Should've been 2011. All of the old timers are hanging them up as each day goes by. We'll be blessed with Buck and Aikman until 2092.
He used to be great but I’m glad that I won’t have to listen to him anymore.
