Should've been 2011. All of the old timers are hanging them up as each day goes by. We'll be blessed with Buck and Aikman until 2092.
He has been absolutely awful for years

It’s a joke how often he confuses players and calls. “And now they’re saying...” has become a meme.

He used to be great but I’m glad that I won’t have to listen to him anymore.
I know the Knicks and basketball

are his love, but I thought he was the best Hockey announcer of his era. Doc Emrick probably the best recently. But listening to Marv do Rangers games on radio was fantastic.

Thank God Dick Stockton called it quits. He was WAYYYYYYYY past his broadcasting prime.
Agree 100 percent with section 125

When I was a kid and Marv was only doing Ranger and Knicks games on radio, he was one of the best ever. Over the years he's become a parody of himself, but, when he was young, he was tremendous.
Marv Albert will always...

be the voice of the Rangers for me. I remember listening to him on my transistor radio doing Rangers play-by-play in the early 70's. Nobody did hockey any better on radio. He did every game with the energy of a playoff game...

I grew up listening to:

“Giacomin winds it around the net, picked up by Park, feeds cross ice to Hadfield as the Rangers start out, Up the boards to Ratelle, across the Blue line to Gilbert, He breaks in on net, He shoots, He SCO-OORES !!!!!!
Had no idea he was pushing 80

who will always be the best basketball broadcaster ever. I agree, Marv should have retired a few years ago
Gotta give Marv credit

He was the voice of basketball long after they stopped playing it.
