Gotta be within 48 hours no? I don't get the hold up with the play in games.

Lonzo told media earlier that he would love to be back with Pels.
He's still the man I think we ought to target this summer. He's a RFA so Pels can match whatever offer he gets.
I have soured on Lonzo a little bit.
IMO save the cap space for the 2022 FA class were there is better talent available.
I don't want to have to give him 3 yrs 60 million.
I've also soured on Lonzo. I'm not sure how to put succinctly into words why that is, but the best way I could put it is this: I for some reason just don't see a team paying Lonzo Ball $20M a year to start at PG as a championship-caliber team. With every move we should be thinking championship, not necessarily in 2022, but at some point, and if that means saving our cash for 2023 then so be it, but let's look at the value-for-dollar with Lonzo... Put Lonzo on this team and what does it change? I think it would mean we have slightly better odds of winning a 2nd round series, but we'd still be sizable underdogs in that 2nd round series. Is that really worth $20M a year?
I'll admit-- Ball just hasn't jumped off the screen as being all that good to me.
Also- the Pelicans being as bad as they are considering how good "on paper" they are this year also kind of disturbs me. I mean: Ball, Zion, Ingram, Bledsoe, Adams... how does that group get you such sub-mediocre results? With those guys at his disposal I guess I'd just expect better results from a PG whose about to command "young star" type of money.

larry, I think Lonzo would be perfect fit here. Assuming it's not astronomical, I'd like to snag him. But if not, se la vie.
Summer '22 has potential to be a UFB FA.
The last time the Kings made the postseason...I was living in SF, wasn't married, & Bill Frist was the Senate Majority Leader. Uh, it's been awhile.
That's a good fan base too. ARCO was a great place to watch a game. They looked like they were coming on two years ago, but have obviously regressed.
Then kf they win a round and give Philly a tough series the pressure is going to be even more..
How this franchise takes the next step will be interesting..
Is it adding an estbalished youth like Ball? Going vets like Lowry or derozan? does a superstsr become available?
Beal and Lavine probably won't sign extension.
They might be available at the deadline.
If not they will be FA's
Any deal you do this off season need to be a 1 year deal
This is a very weak FA class and can't over pay just to improve minimally.
I think you bring everyone back on mid level deals.
Burks, Rose, Bullock,and Noel.
Taj on the cheap.
RJ, Quickley, and Toppin will be one year better.
The list is too long of the talent available.
Need to sell Dolan and the fans on 1 more year of patience.

As a team, their defense was bottom of the league terrible. I'd rest that on the coaching. No idea what they're doing.
Also, Ingram is a bit overrated. Talented, but kind of a knucklehead player. Might just be a matter of being young.

Maybe the Kings blow it up and move Fox? Unlikely but you never know in the NBA. But I do think a star will become available. And honestly if one does become available, the Knicks are in great position. OKC and New Orleans have more picks, but is any star clamoring to get there? Highly doubtful.
And if a true superstar does become available, you have to go all in. If the package is mostly picks, in my opinion it’s a no brainer. We’ll see how these deals work put down the line, but do you think Brooklyn or the Lakers will ever regret making those deals for Harden/ Davis? If an all nba level player is available- you do whatever it takes to land them.
I think this is good.
Yes, & think both happen. I think there's a good chance Cs lose both games.
Are we afraid of the Pacers and Celtics? Or just prefer the Wizards and Hornets?
In my mind-- I think Wizards have the best chance to beat the Sixers, though I could be wrong about that, and I'd think we want whichever team could *possibly* knock off the Sixers since we're slated to face the winner of that series in a potential round 2.
He was just a truly atrocious head football coach.
As for people not being comfortable, that's a definite possibility. Me on the other hand...I'm ready for a repeat of the Roaring Twenties, Haha.
That's WHORING 20s. At least that's the word on the street....I am old and married so for me it's just going to be the boring 20s. And that's ok with me.

cmon dude (ny16)..Randle has been dogshit? This team has no shot in the playoffs? Most games are close. The Knicks are 9th in the entire NBA in points differential. IN other words, relax. This is as good as it gets. NExt season when the expectations go full stupid maybe then it would be time to get crazy.
Randle hasn't exactly been Robert Horry at the buzzer but he's been incredible in the 4th quarter all year long. How many huge baskets does this guy hit every night?
It was an older comment sorry if I am late to this but dude...enjoy this.
Seems like teams have started doubling Randle very aggressively in the last few weeks, especially in Q4/crunch time. Doubling him late, as in second defender waits until he starts to make his move before rushing over to double.I think that’s contributed to a perceived drop off in his shot selection and shot making at the end of games
He has done a pretty good job of finding open guys to pass to when that happens...recent wins have been marked by big late baskets by RJ, Burks, Bullock off assists by Randle
I have faith Thibs will have Randle and the rest of the team well prepared for this to continue
Big picture, highlights the need for one more elite scorer for this squad to truly be a title contender...but that’s more of an offseason discussion
I think this offseason we are going to see Randle and the Knicks work hardest on what to do when he is aggressively doubled on a regular basis. For obvious reasons he's simply never had to deal with any game plan like that against him for his entire career (and few players do until/unless they actually become all-star caliber players).
Guys like Lebron and Steph are MVP caliber players not just because of their scoring ability, but equally as much because of their passing and how they make their teammates better, but the latter skill also COMES in part from being so accustomed to getting double and tripled -teamed; they know how to respond to it-- it has become basically 2nd nature to them, and precisely WHY they're the best is because they know how to take full advantage of the defense and how to immediately get their guys wide open looks in those situations.
To me, Lebron became a phenomenal passer in this league because he HAD TO. He's one of the most naturally-gifted scorers, and when you have that gift what inevitably happens is teams throw multiple guys at you and you NEED to be able to pass the ball well (and think quickly about where the pass is going).
I personally do see Randle having the potential to be an MVP-like facilitator in that regard, as we often have seen flashes of it this year, but he has a ways to go in that department before becoming a LEGIT MVP player and not just "in the discussion." At this point he (and the team) does not always react well to the pressure of a double-team thrown at Randle. To me, the moment the double team comes, you either make your move and take your shot, or make your move and pass the damn ball. You can't indecisively dribble in place and pick up the ball and stay stationary while 2-3 guys start aggressively trying pry the ball out of your hands. I know it's easier said than done, but I'm holding Randle to high standard to get it figured out this offseason-- he clearly has both the natural talent AND the work ethic to develop that aspect of his game more.
Agree about Randle. As good as he's been this year, the perfect description is poor man's Lebron. I mean this in the most complimentary way possible, but don't want to hide the fact that Randle isn't the defender or facilitator that Lebron is. Not a knock, I mean the guy has been incredible but he's not the elite defender or passer. He's merely solid there. Which in and of itself is incredible, but also shows how good Lebron is. Maybe Randle can improve both? If he did, wow.

Because i want both teams to think about blowing up their team..
I would love to get brogdon if possible..
IMO no one in the play-in has any shot at going more than 5 games against Brooklyn and the Sixers.
I would enjoy the Celtics getting the 7th or 8th spot just so I can watch them get blown out 4 more times.
neither did i, coaches love Monty and he has been through a lot, he is well deserving but i thought thibs should of won

i think the Beal ship has sailed, the run they went on when everyone got healthy, he is not leaving
He's torn his left ACL twice, I'd be very reluctant.
Least appealing of play in games anyways.
Pacers are definitely a team to keep an eye on this off season. There's definately change that are gonna be made there starting with the coach. If Brogdon shakes loose in a trade we should pounce.
The best defense your going to play against trae is to attack him, make him play defense and maybr you get him into foul trouble..
Guarding him with 1 guy isnt going to work and leaving Payton or Frank on the floor is going to allow him to rest on that side..

thoughts on giving Frank burn to guard Trae? I'm in favor.

eh, sounds good in theory but having old man Rose guard Young for much of the game seems like a great way to get OUR best lead guard gassed and in fould trouble.

I would put Bullock on Trae..
Rose on Bogdanavich..
I'm with nygiants...I'd probably put Bullock on Trae. If only Frank had an offensive game...
