Giants waited RB Jordan Chunn and TE Nate Wieting after the rookie camp to make room on the roster for Kelvin Benjamin and RB Corey Clement.
Elerson Smith. It said that even though his college season was cancelled, he could have come back in the spring and gotten addition instruction from Paup, which he declined to do. Paup wanted to teach him to use his hands better and be less reliant on speed.

Bill, I don't take it that way, and is the reporter's take much ado about little? He praised Paup to the stars in this post-draft interviews, credited him with his development as a pass rusher. I have no idea if doing what Schwartz suggests could have changed his declaration for the draft, seems not, but once NIU canceled fall football, Smith embarked on a plan and followed through on it. He's all in to his first pro season. I don't see why he couldn't work with Paup in the offseason between OTA and camp, if both are inclined.

This is how I read it too. Once Smith decided to declare for the draft, it was all about preparing for the draft, not putting it off until 2022 just to play the spring football season for UNI and learn more technique from Paup. I'm sure that the Giants coaching staff will certainly be working on technique with him.
Judge is all into teaching and the benefits of good coaching. The kid had an opportunity to learn more from a guy he gives total credit to for his development, and he passed on it. Maybe not a big deal in the long game, but as I said, I was just disappointed with his choice.
to work on things that Paup obviously saw as deficiencies in his game, he could be ahead of where he is now as a player. He'll now have to use training camp as the means to make up for those shortfalls, rather than coming in more ready.

He's NOT inclined and hasn't been, is his point.
Thus his concern.

I was annoyed at Serby's NYP interview with Toney. It's like he digs around beforehand to find some sort of personal loss (a friend or family member who died young or similar) so he can then ask his subject 5 or 6 questions in a row about it probably hoping to get some emotional reaction. Then his standard "What motivates you? Do you have swag? What makes you you?" nonsense.

I hear you, but remember these guys have editors. And they probably say “get me some human interest on Toney, who is he what makes him tick, what has he overcome.” So they have a job to do and space to fill, too. We may not be into it, but some more casual readers probably like it.

Seriously. It's all they tweeted about yesterday.
I get it... it's not 11-on-11s, but c'mon talk about something meaningful.

Unsure if it's really a big deal, but strange nonetheless how the equipment team couldn't get his shoe size right?
I mean, those guys should have back up gear for most scenarios. Is getting someones shoe's size right a heavy lift?
