Sorry about the previous post - I mistakenly thought Michael Kay said Aaron Judge - he said Aaron Hicks. Odor on IL too. Abreu called up I believe. Was only a matter of time before Stanton got hurt playing DH. Clownshow with this guy.
i just hate when people act like the player isn't trying to play or doesn't care about missing games. Stanton wants to play. Probably does everything he can to play. He's in awesome shape. HE's also only on the 10 day DL, which, you know, isn't the same as the 60 day DL.
I like to get mad when something happens. Until then I will cautiously expect Stanton to be back in a week or so.
missed 4 games in 2018 which is awesome. Then he missed a ton of time in 2019 and 2020 but came back and carried the offense in the 20 postseason. He was fine all year thus far until this little blip.
Maybe it's not that bad yet. Just saying.
Giancarla. What a joke. "OOH look he can bench press a woman!"

10 day list doesn't necessarily mean 10-days, as we've seen in the past with Stanton and other Yanks, a player can be out considerably longer, even 60 days if they don't need that spot on the 40 man roster
How can Stanton stand the strain of sitting in dugout all game before he strikes out or occasionally makes contact ? He is only 6 foot 6 with a body made out of chiseled iron. It is too much to ask. He needs to rest for a 100 games or so to be ready for postseason.
there were stories of both Stanton and Judge changing up their offseason routines this past winter to focus less on pure powerlifting and more on flexibility/mobility, with an eye on injury prevention.
I think the unfortunate reality is with guys that size, once they start pushing 30 expecting them to play 150+ games is too much to ask. True with most MLB players as they get older
Thankfully Judge has been able to play through whatever lower body issue was bugging him early. Fingers crossed it's not that long with Stanton
games played before he came here. Cashman acquired him off the 1 MVP year and the 59 dingers. Prior to that, he spent a lot of time hurt with the Marlins. I never would have gone after him for that reason. The best ability is availability. He doesn’t have it.

A big part of that was taking a fastball to the face
RE: fairly or not, Stanton epitomizes what is wrong with baseball today

If it’s just a week, it’s fine.
If this turns into a 3 month injury, then….
no one is forcing the Yankees to draft, trade or sign the oversized specimens. Seems clear that they have too many monsters.

over emphasis on size, muscle and power at the expense of agility, flexibility and athleticism.

I don;t think it's just the Yankees. It's baseball generally.
