The Islanders are in the exact same position they were in two weeks ago against Pittsburgh, tied in the series 2-2 following an inspiring Game 4 win at home and facing a critical Game 5 on the road.
The Bruins are a much tougher opponent than Pittsburgh, but I think the Isles can do it if Barzal stays hot and they play like they did in the third period Saturday when they smothered Boston.
I'm very pleased with the early 6:30 start, just in case we get another OT!
I felt that losing Anders Lee would be a huge obstacle especially when the playoffs started because we lose our captain, #1 center, a big force both on the ice and in front of the net, as well as his scoring.
However, everyone has stepped up and this group truly plays like a team. As Matt said....there is very little room to create and orchestrate. It comes down to the little things.
Let's see where this team can take us tonight in unruly Boston.
Go Islanders!
Keep it going!!!!
Pit responded strong after a big game 4 last series and Sorokin has to steal the game. Hopefully Isles can weather the storm at the beginning tonight and start to grind away and take control as the game goes on.
THE
PUCK
I want at least 40 shots on goal from the Isles by the end of regulation.
You can't take it with you, let the rubber fly!

Lol - we'll be lucky to see 40 shot attempts, let alone 40 on net

Exactly. Too much hesitation. Just let it rip.
There will be a huge push to start the game tonight from the Bruins. Weather than storm and stay to their game is a recipe to win. Early softies has been an Achilles heal the last several weeks. They need Varly on his game from puck drop.
Let's Go Islanders!!!
Anyway, he was staying at the house last weekend with my Sister-in-Law. He walked into the family room after we lost game 1 and asked the final score. When I told him, he raised his fists in the air and said "Yay".
He is so annoying. He didn't even know the Bruins were in the playoffs until he visited.
The next morning he came downstairs to the kitchen and sees me sitting at the kitchen table. He apologized for being a bit of a dick the night before which was nice....but didn't stop me from saying:
"It's okay, Jeff. I figure you deserve 100 more moments like that to make up for the perfect season that wasn't so perfect."
Mic drop!
Love those Giants......The gift that keeps on giving!
The Islanders history in Game 5 in a deadlocked series:

In a 5-game series the Isles are 3-0 in the fifth game, 2-0 at home and 1-0 on the road.
In a 7-game series they are 6-6 in the fifth game, 2-1 at home and 4-6 on the road (including the game at Pittsburgh two weeks ago).
When winning the sixth game the Islanders have closed out the series five times, losing only to Toronto in 1978 in the seventh game. The five series wins all came in the 6th game.
When losing the fifth game the Islanders have lost the series five times (three times in six games, twice in seven games) and won just once - the famous David Volek Game 7 OT win at Pittsburgh in 1993.
I'm hoping for another big road win tonight and close-out at the Old Barn Wednesday :)
I could never bring myself to root for the Islanders unless they were playing the Flyers.
Let's go Bruins
Barzal’s play has really been coming on past few games.
And wow is Cassidy a whiner! When they win they played well, and when they lose the refs are against them. I hope he keeps bitching about the refs so his teams focus is on how the deck is stacked against them.
LGI!!!
Don’t get baited into anything. Stay the course and play your game, aisles!
LGI!!!
Close it out Wednesday in 6!
just sayin....
depends on his health. He got hurt in game 2 I think. He didnt skate this morning and i thought he wasnt himself early. rebounds and little misplays on the puck outside of the crease. just didnt seem like the rask from the other games
They should be calm and confident going into game 6. That and the crowd should be enough to put this team behind us.
LGI!!!
Boston media/fans complaining about the refs is a joke. They are a dirty team and are getting what they deserve.
Game 6 might as well practically be game 7. Isles need to close this out on Wednesday.
"I think they sell a narrative over there it's more like the New York Saints, not the New York Islanders. The exact calls that are getting called on us are not getting called on them. I don't know why. You got the exact same high sticks... You just hope they'd see them."
I love that their coach is that distracted going into game 6.
Keep focusing on the refs, Bruce. Good idea.
Boston took 194 minor penalties in the regular season. Isles took 130. This series there’s been 12 called in Boston and 9 on the Islanders.
How can anyone be surprised by what’s happening in this series? Boston is just being themselves
Hey Ref. Check your woicemail. You missed some calls.
WTGI
Boston has a lot more scoring skill that the Islanders. While the top line is still managing to score, the second line has been largely absent because they don’t play that game well. Now their backs are against the wall and they know there is just more coming on Wednesday.
Call one of the least penalized teams in the league dirty. Rant about a conspiracy to keep propping up the team everyone thinks is boring. It’s all just to distract how he set up his own team for failure in this series by playing exactly how the Islanders wanted them to play.
This ^^^^
Lets go New York Saints!!!!
YES! YES! YES! YES!
End this in a big way tomorrow.
It's the same way Trotz called Bergeron a cheater at the circle a day before.
Islanders have had a rabbit's foot in their back pocket, we'll see how long it lasts.
