Durant and Carter

armstead98 : 6/8/2021 7:28 am
Durant tore his Achilles 2 years ago and is now dominating the NBA playoffs.

I’d basically written Lorenzo Carter off after his injury but maybe that’s not the right thing to do these days?

This has got to be the first time KD & Lorenzo Carter have been compared on anything.
except Carter never dominated before he was hurt

It's crazy, but it appears ACL and achilles injuries are simply no big deal anymore.

You heal up in a few months and you're back.
Cliched, but each case is a case unto itself.

Not much can be gleaned from it, imv..

AP was playing at a high level, 7-8 months after ACL surgery. We’re awaiting SB’s contribution but don’t know when or how effective he will be. Surgical results obviously depend on difficulty of the procedure, rehab, etc..

But yes, Procedures performed today are infinitely better/more advanced than 10-20 years ago..

Of course I’m not comparing them as players, KD is a top 10 all time player, Carter isn’t even top 10 DE in the NFC.

The point is just that Achilles injuries aren’t what they used to be and maybe Carter will be able to come back near his old self. Some forget that he was playing pretty well right before he got hurt.

KD is tough to replace, Carter isn't

Would it shock anyone if the Giants moved on?
I have seen a lot of talk about Carter returning to form
jlukes : 6/8/2021 8:32 am : link
and I can't help but wonder what form people are talking about.

Carter was an average player at best before his injury.
NFT?

How is it an NFT, officer?
There..
FatMan in Charlotte : 6/8/2021 9:33 am : link
have been plenty of players to fully recover from Achilles and ACL injuries, and there have been plenty who never regained their form.

We'll know soon enough
I thought Carter was playing well before the injury.

We knew he was a project when drafted, but now so many are willing to kick him to the curb after a so-so rookie year.

That said, it's going to be tougher for him to shine given the new competition. I do wonder if NYG will consider moving him inside?

The scale is so tipped to guys that do it’s sitting on ground when age is in their favor. My only real worry with Saquon is his style of play and how absolutely elite his lateral agility is for a man his size.

He thought it was about Durant and Vince Carter. When I first saw the thread that’s what I assumed.
Think carter was ascending to be better than average
Payasdaddy : 6/8/2021 11:51 am : link
It looked like he was gonna have a solid yr last yr and his potential is a better than average ER/OLB
Basically a 6 out of ten Works for me as a solid rotation piece who may be able to bring some pass rush

Our edge rushers suck too. Who do we have that's better than a healthy Carter?
