Shut it off. This bullshit to get ahead with two strikes then nibble while running the count to 3-2 and giving the batters a chance to see a good pitch is just awful baseball. Get ahead and stay aggressive - attack the zone.
with a laser that can't find grass. Damnit. He had a .271 BABIP coming into the game which is close to league average. Definite improvement getting the ball sprayed a little more than last year.
makes me want to see him stay there. He is so smooth and an obvious improvement over what we get with Torres. I'd rather have DJ play 1B or 3B with Torres sliding back to 2B.
We now are settling for good outs. That’s the problem with this team. An out is an out especially with 2 on and two outs. When he starts getting hits when we could use them then maybe he gets a pass. The guy has sucked for almost 3 seasons now. No break and stop settling for being “queen of the pigs”
really has lost the ability to barrel up the ball. He got pretty lucky last season but this year it's on full display. Pounding it into the dirt over and over again.
are en fuego lately. I wouldnt care so much if pitchers didn't have such an insane advantage already.
Move the damn strike zone to the robots and shrink it in 2022. I'm ready.
Why are the bad calls so consistently pro-pitcher? I'd estimate there are well more pitcher-friendly mistakes versus hitter-friendly mistakes. (Although this is just based on my anecdotal sense.)

Exactly. There are no pro-hitter strike zones in the league anymore. Make these spin-rating MFers throw the ball over the plate. If you call a tight zone they will and we will get action.
instead, we get gary chasing a ball that hit the plate.
how we are dead last in the league in hitting with men on. Leading in DPs and worst base-running.
Bottom line - its shit coaches that have the respect of the players would have fixed. We can't fire a bunch of these players but we can, and should, get people they will listen to on the payroll.
would be very nice. My most wanted change is DFAing Odor, but I'll take great Gary at bats. Love watching him hit when he's on. Judge still looking good as well.

I want Cashman to make up for two horrible in-season trades by cutting out the rot. Josh Smith could do better than Odor right now if Wade isn't going to be playing.
after that terrible weekend. So is El Gary going to tease
the fan base again. When he gets more consistent, I'll pay more attention, not just when he is titillating the fan base.
So Cole was quite evasive when asked about the sticky substance...hmmm. Oh well, just go and get a win tonight.

I hate how Gary may be getting hot, but has to sit tonight. I get it and it wouldn't really bother me if we weren't having such struggles. But since we are, I hate it.

The Cole thing should not be a surprise to anyone. Its an open secret that the Astros found something to improve pitching- hint, hint. Add in the lawsuit over substances filed by the Angels clubhouse guy against Cole, Verlander and some others (again, the Astros connection)- and the answer is fairly obvious.
I very much doubt that the Yanks had no idea what was going on- though I'm sure we will hear the Casablanca claim on that.

I would actually like to see them give Hoy Jun Park a chance. He's not on the 40 and would require a roster move (tough with both Britton and Sevy coming off the 60 days DL soon), but he has legit speed, some power, can get on base and plays 2B, SS and may be able to play 3B in a pinch. Likely better than Wade too.
I'll bet the Yankees didn't know Jason Giambi was using
Damn I hate this pitching philosophy.
Don’t worry. The assistant coaches will eventually have enough and get tossed while Boone sits back and chews his bubble gum in a complete fog
This team is really fucked up right now.
Carlos Mendoza is the worst 3rd base coach I've ever seen.

By such a wide margin it makes me wonder how good he is at any other role they are paying him to fill.
3-3
Refsnyder sure looks like a different player. Seems to happen to alot of our kids - we sell low and they figure it out under someone else's watch.
Let Gardner be a player-manager. Fuck it.
You telling me that would be worse than this horseshit? (I'm kidding, but maybe not)

Nice wheels by Wade.
Please don't bring in Rocky Dennis in the B8.
5-3
Fucking atrocious.
Well played Stanton.
his adjustments are working.
horrible job by the two pencil neck twins fans trying to catch that HR. Even with a glove. Pathetic.

I will now sleep through the rest of the games as superstition is not to be denied or messed with.
