NFL, NFLPA to fund research into pain treatment...

Including medical marijuana.

a go through the motions exercise this study has been done (with varying results), but it will probably serve to remove marijuana from the banned substances list avoiding inevitable issues for players who live or play in states were recreational marijuana is legal.

obviously the NFL can still ban it, like they have, but it's probably something the NFLPA is fighting for and so many players probably use it already, it would be an easy chip for the league to offer next CBA (or sooner) - in a quid pro quo for an 18th game or something like that
