Not a large enough sample size on deGrom. If he continues close to this, it is certainly the greatest pitching season in my lifetime, if not modern baseball history.

Yup. Top-heavy system will do that to you. When short season begins there should be some more names to follow. I'm dying to see what Dominguez looks like for one.
I'd be willing to bet that this is his second to last start in the minors. With all the doubleheaders coming up, Szapucki is set to next start on Monday. That lines him up nicely to make his MLB debut on Saturday the 19th in one of the games vs. the Nationals. He would also be available for the double header vs. the Phillies on the 25th.
Kilome blew the save, Nogosek lost the game.
Quote:
Big start for Szapucki today, his command has been "okay", last start much better. He can't be too far off from joining the rotation

That makes sense. I hope it happens that way and it works out for him.

He has to be closer to what he did last start than the one prior. 2 starts ago 4 innings 5 walks. He's only gone more than 4 innings twice, so hopefully he will go 5-6 tonight and put himself in position to join the rotation.
Yes, all other 5 or 6 relievers are out of the organization.

Carlos Carrasco (torn right hamstring) is no longer throwing off the slope of a mound, as he was last week.
"There is no reinjury or anything like that," Luis Rojas said. "We still have to put some more strength in that hamstring before we ramp up his baseball progression."
