I live outside of New Haven. The problem I occasionally face during football season is that when the Giants and Patriots are on the same network (either Fox or CBS) at the same time, the local network will show the f’n Pats game. Only Fairfield county is considered GMen territory. The rest of the state is Pats territory according to the NFL.
Last year I cut the cord and went with Fubo and liked it. The Giants and Pats schedules didn’t conflict in a way where I couldn’t see the Giants game.
Looking at the upcoming season’s schedule, however, I think there are a few games where there could be a conflict. And I don’t want to worry about this crap week to week; just want to guarantee that I see every Giants game live on my TV. I was considering going back to Comcast so that I get NY local channels again in addition to CT, but if I recall correctly, I’ll still get blacked out and won’t be able to watch the Giants on Fox NY when Fox CT is showing Pats.
So, I’m considering DirectTV. DirectTV has come out to my house in the past and said they couldn’t install here due to trees. So, I think that means that I could get the Sunday Ticket app without having to get their entire service.
Does anyone know if I’ll be able to watch Giants on DirectTV Sunday Ticket from CT when they’re blacked out on my local stations due to the Pats?
Any other suggestions?
If available then you’ll get every Giants game.
I went through the same thing when I moved to Trumbull. Luckily NY is my primary market and I get CBSCT. I don’t get FOXCT.
As long as your cable provider offers you the local channel, I’m 99% sure you’d get the game that’s being shown in that market.
If you know someone in college they provide a steep discount to college students. I think it’s $120. I got it last year and it was well worth it.
I’ve had Comcast/Xfinity in the past and got both CT and NY stations for Fox and CBS. That may be what I do again. I’ll also look into Sunday Ticket mobile.
The issue with my current cord-cutting setup (we switch between FuboTV and Hulu) is that there are a few games where Giants and Pats are playing at the same time on the same network. Week 3, for instance, they’re both on Fox at 1pm. More than likely, Fox61 CT will show the Pats game. There are 1-2 other possible weeks where this is an issue this season and I really want to head it off because it pisses me off to no end when it catches me by surprise.
The same situation happened this past season once but, inexplicably, Fox61 chose to show Giants/Bengals instead of the Pats. I can’t bank on that happening each time.
I either use a free stream broadcast or local bar in rare cases at least pre covid.

I use a stream too. If I'm blacked out, I don't feel bad loading up a stream as there's no legal way to buy it.
I haven't had DirectTV in a long time, but when I did (living in Clinton) I had both NY and CT locals so I could watch the game. Not sure if they still do that, though. Worth a call to them I'd say.
